Wouldn't tell me a price on the phone to snake my drain line, said $49.00 for an estimate! Last time I used them it was under $225.00! Guy says $750.00 when he comes out. I complained he said $550.00 then he said new owners! They just lost 5 customers! Beware no phone price because they are overpriced! Avoid this company. They take your credit card just to set up an emergency appointment. Don't show up the same day (plumbers are busy, sick etc.). Come next day and charge your card whatever they want . Tell you that to check the problem costs $350 but after all charge you $1'050. Just to determine what is the problem ( It took them 20 minutes). And then charge $900 for very simple two hours job. read more

Sad to say a 10 year relationship is over. In the past, they have done good work for me that I felt was very fair and quality. I needed them for a simple drain snake and they wanted $750 for it. very disappointed with Kyle plumbing. Rick came out to install an instant hot/cold water faucet. When he was finished, I checked the faucet, only to find out that the cold wasn't working. Rick said that as I didn't purchase the faucet from Kyle plumbing, they were not responsible for the defect. Since then I obtained a new faucet, and another plumbing company sent out their plumber. The filter to which the faucet was attached, was leaking, and had damaged underneath the sink. Also the plumber said that the faucet was incorrectly installed, and was not defective at all. Kyle plumbing charged me $600 and did damage. This was very poor work indeed. read more

I highly recommend that you find ANOTHER plumber. There are a gazillion plumbers to choose from, and my choice to pick Kyle Plumbing turned out to be a HUGE mistake. I recently purchased a home with a propane tank that supplies gas to my stove, outdoor kitchen, backup generator, pool heater, and my tankless hot water heater. All went well for the first month living there. All of the sudden, my hot water heater stopped working. I did some research on the manufacturer's website, and it turned out that Kyle Plumbing was a certified reseller of that brand. They came out and spent about 4 hours "trying" to diagnose the problem. After the tech called the manufacturer, they said that two internal parts needed to be replace at an estimated cost of $2000. They recommended that instead, I replace the unit. So, I agreed... and spent $4150 for a new unit (including installation). After the technician finished the install... it still wasn't working!!! He told me I was out of propane. So, I called my propane supplier to come fill my tank... and when they got there, they said it was already full! So, this finger-pointing went on for days. Eventually, we found out that I needed a new first-stage regulator on my propane tank - that cost $300. At some point, you trust a company to know what they're doing. HOW could they not check that the hot water heater was not getting gas??? Isn't that the first thing they should've checked? It's kind of like when you call customer support for your television that isn't working... and they ask you "is it plugged in?" It's the first things they should check... is it getting water? Is it getting gas? Is it getting electricity? I tried to explain that I was bamboozled into spending over $4000 to the owner Kevin, but he didn't care... he just said "pay me." Moral of the story: they don't know how to properly diagnose problems. Instead, their knee-jerk response is to replace (not repair). What should've cost me $300... cost me over $4,000! Buyer BEWARE. Find someone who wants to help you... not someone who wants to sell you something. I recommend you find a different plumber. As you can see by the owner's response to my post... they just don't care. First I'll say this is not the first time I've used Kyle Plumbing. I will say I have been satisfied with them in the past, on this occasion, not so much... I called Kyle Plumbing in the morning about a toilet bowl that was losing water after it flushed. When the plumber arrived he came in, flushed my toilet a few times and said the toilet needed to be replaced. No real thoughts on what was wrong with it, just that it needed to be replaced. I asked the plumber for an estimate, he went out to his truck and came back in a few minutes. He quoted me on a two piece toilet (the fixture only), I then asked him how much the total would be with labor. The plumber told me that would depend on how difficult the installation was, but he really couldn't give me an idea of a total price. I told him I'd like to discuss this with my wife for her input on the type of toilet. He said OK and then proceeded to give me an invoice for $159.00. He was at my home for approximately 10 minutes. This company has a policy of charging $150.00 for the first 45 min of the service call or consultation. I have used this company before (last time back in 2020). It would have been professional of the scheduling agent to remind me of this flat rate fee for the consultation as it was three years ago when I last used them. I did call the company to tell them I didn't think $150 was fair for a 10 min visit from a technician. The service manager said I should have remembered that fee structure from three years ago. The service manager also admitted the tech gave me bad/wrong information. The service manager said they charge a flat rate of $872 to change a toilet. She admitted the service tech they sent to my home was new to their company and didn't know their procedures. OK, so now I'm paying $150.00 for bad information from a new service tech that I had zero confidence could do the job. The service manager admitted several times that the info I got from their technician was wrong, the service manager said the tech should have called in to the office for their fee structure before he quoted me the cost of the fixure. I assumed that's what he was doing when he went out to the truck and came back in giving me a price estimate. The icing on the cake is they also charge a $9.00 "truck supply fee" on every invoice. The service manager said that this fee is automatically printed on every invoice, she likened it to a Tax (lol). The service manager also said he should have been wearing booties before walking into my house and gloves, nope, nada, none of that happened. Zero supplies were used while he was at my home. It really seems like this fee is an undisclosed profit center for them kind of like junk fees from restaurants and hotels, guess the plumbers like that business model of undisclosed hidden fees. The service manager did offer to remove $25.00 from by invoice, I found that completely inadequate for the skill level of the technician the sent to my house, the bad info I was given and especially inadequate for a returning customer. Overall, I'll be looking for a new pluming company. Summary: This company has no problem sending new, poorly trained technicians to your home. When that new/poorly trained tech gives you completely inaccurate information the company doesn't really care . Lastly, company charges a non-negotiable "Truck supply fee" when zero supplies are used, that is the insult to injury. read more

As a repeat customer, I am sorry to say after two phone calls, leaving a message to callback I have received NO call. Previous visit were just average, with a temporary fix to only to have to call again but with no call back went elsewhere. As I previous thought, the problem in question needs replacement. They didnt have the necessary replacement part and they told me I would have to order it from the supplier. I paid $701 ($726 - $25 for first time customers, first and last for me) for a small single handle faucet with installation. Instead of asking me what type of faucet I'd like to replace mine with, the plumber came in with a large single faucet (made by Wolverine Brass, which I had never heard of) after being gone from my condo for 15 minutes. The spout was 8 1/2" high instead of the 4" inch that had broken. I have a very small kitchen and after he started to install it I told him it looked enormous in that space, and I didn't want it. After two more trips to his truck and packing up all his tools, he miraculously found a faucet similar to mine. I paid $150 for the first 45 minutes and $225 for three more 1/2 hour segments, $375 labor. I guess being a single mom didn't help much, I often feel I'm being taken advantage of. read more

I would have given them five stars but I just looked at my invoice. I had the pipes in my house scope because it's an old house and I plan on have some work done. I was quoted $375.00 for up to 2 hours which is totally reasonable. I just looked at my emailed invoice and it's $384.00. I called and was told it was some truck service fee that was never mentioned. Granted it's not a huge amount of money but that's not the point. Not word one was EVER said about additional charges for anything. I had just gone back to Kyle after a previous dispute. Used to be an alright plumbing company. Now, not so great. Plumber left with a handle to my shower to get a part and never returned, two months ago. I've been calling for a month on a weekly basis to be told I would get a call back. Never happened. This company is going downhill real fast. Find another company. If you do call them anyway, you'll be waiting a looooong time for the plumber. Sometimes a few days. I don't think anyone wants to be treated like that. read more

We have used Kyle plumbing for 25 + years and the downward trend in customer service is sadly evident. Replaced a shower cartridge on the on/ off handle and evidently they put it in backwards ... turn on cold water it comes out hot and vice versa... three times they were no shows to come back and do the job right. I guess someone scalding themselves inadvertently is not a concern for them. You would think shoddy work would get a priority call first thing... not these people... it's the season and there's no money in follow up calls I guess. I had a major clog in my Guest House and did not know who to call. I called my Realtor and he recommended Kyle Plumbing. I called them at 8:30 AM and They showed up within 1 Hour. They found the Clog and spent time to make sure that they did a Perfect Job. Being in a service business myself the job with any other Plumber would have costed in upwards of $250.00. The bill was only $180.00 and they even took off $40.00 for me for a first time customer. The technician was a great guy and I had to tip him. Great service. I had a back in my main line on New Year's Eve and they were more then happy to come out and fix it. Turns out I had roots in the line and Andrew was able to temporarily fix the system. I did follow up with a camera inspection. It was an easy process and efficient. Im in the process of working with my HOA and I spoke to Bob at Kyle and he was very accommodating in case the HOA had additional questions. I used Kyle Plumbing since they were recommended by a co worker. When I booked my appt with Nancy she was very nice on the phone and I was able to get appointment quickly. However, the plumber showed up over an hour late. Was having a hard time fixing what needed to be done and was just akward. To make a long story short, I WON'T be using them again since not only was I overcharged $127 for a $30 part but they attempted to overcharge for the labor! I had to speak with the manager to express my concerns. She told me they've been in business for over 30 years?! I don't know how when you try to take advantage of people. I called Kyle about fixing a leaking water heater on Friday. I wanted to go tankless. They were fast to squeeze me in with on Monday late after noon and said they would install all but breakers for new tankless. Well the installed new waterless box. It was not even close to level, they didn't install new shutoff valves, old valve now leaking and no wiring was done at all. I call them the next day and never received a call back. I called them out for a leak under our kitchen sink and bathroom sink. When they got there they said we needed a new garbage disposal which would be 300.00 for the unit alone. Then there would be 2 service calls for the same day visit. When I asked why they said it was 2 different issues. Ridiculous. Wouldn't use or recommend. I selected this plumber due to a high rating on Angie's List. I waited four days for an appointment to fix a slow drip pipe leak. I was told their policy is they needed a check upon completion of the visit. I specifically left a check with my housekeeper given my schedule would not enable my presence. When I returned home I found the leak wasn't fixed, the tech had left and no invoice or request for payment was made. My housekeeper informed me they would have to order parts. The next day I received a call requesting payment via credit card. I advised in order to render payment I would need an invoice. I requested they email one and conveyed I would have the check sent out upon receipt. I was then told they would not accept my check and needed a credit card because they weren't paid at the time of the visit. I conveyed that I had specifically left a check for them, their tech didn't ask for it nor did he present an invoice. I conveyed that it wasn't convenient for me to provide them a credit card at the moment. I was then asked if I would call back with the credit card. They were told that wasn't convenient and the check would be sent upon receipt of the invoice. I was then placed on hold only to have to again explain to someone entirely different that I had specifically left a check for them and given they didn't request payment or provide an invoice the check would be mailed upon receipt of the requested invoice. I was again told they would not accept my check and needed a credit card because they have had people that didn't send checks in the past. I asked what the cost was to actually fix the leak and was told she didn't know. I've had many plumbers do work in my homes over the years. I have never run into one that took the position they would only accept a credit card for payment when their policy is to pick up a check at the time of service. Especially when they themselves failed to present an invoice or request payment. Had I not made the effort to insure the check was available for them their position might be more understandable. The call concluded with my advising them they aren't getting my credit card, I won't be using them again and I'll send a check upon receipt of the invoice. I was then asked if I would send a check. When I received the invoice of $99.00 it was for little more than what they had been told before they even came out "Called out for leak coming from one of the connections". Does this sound like an acceptable customer experience? The leak remains unfixed, the check was sent the check and my review was placed. Stay AWAYYYY, Have a condo in Boca, the bldg made a deal with them to replace the old hot water tanks, (20 gallons small tanks), they charged top dollar to do it. In the process, they cracked 3 tiles on the floor. My tenant sent the pictures the same day. Two weeks later, Kirk the owner of Kyle calls me and tells me that he went and knocked on the tiles and the broken ones were a little hollow and cannot guarantee the damage. Keep in mind that these tiles were installed 7 years ago by a certified company and approved by the building. A 20 gallon tank, even filled, will weigh less than the average man walking on these tiles. Just a cheap way to get out of repairing the damage they caused. Very pleased with the entire experience! I called on Tuesday morning and they were able to get me scheduled the following day. Just as promised, I received a phone call when the technician was on his way. Moses was professional and courteous and did a fantastic job installing the vanity at my salon.
