The closest experience I can think of after spending a really nice weekend in Trinity was maybe Mendocino, but without the tourist hordes. The Twine Loft Restaurant was very charming, with stellar down home service, and delicious food options that the kitchen was happy to tweak. We both enjoyed the rustic modern dining room, the romantic ambiance, and the view of the water through the window. Our only regret here was that the weekend we were here was cold and foggy, so there was no real sit on the deck at sunset (or sunrise) option. Dinner was extra special at a fixed price of $65 plus beverages. Gayle chose the Moroccan Lamb Shank with Yogurt Mint Sauce (served with Lemon Herb Israeli Pearl Couscous and Roasted Vegetables), while I went for the Atlantic Salmon with Mango & Pickled Onion Salsa (served with lemon roasted potatoes and roasted vegetables). On Feb 10 and 11, Chef to Go offered one of the best 5 course meals that I have ever tasted. From the local smoked salmon and brie tarte, to the squash soup with carmelized pears on the bottom and stabilized beer foam on the top, to the melt-in-your mouth pork prepared by the sous-vide method, to the perfectly cooked white fleshed turbot on peas pudding ( with a hint of wasabi), to the beet ice cream --everything was supurb! And for the roughy 16 patrons each night, all served in a warm and inviting dining room . All this for only $200 a couple. A friend asked how we had "scored" an invitation to this dinner. It was easy--just check the website or call and ask Bob about his next dinner. My only concern about writing this review is that we may not be able to " score" a ticket for the next occassion. But something this good is meant to be shared.
