Not only is he challenged to push himself physically, but he has fun too! He's made a lot of new friends since students come from different schools. The coaches listen to their students and their parents. They're always available and approachable to talk to. They're there to help. Safety is a top priority. And while this is a "martial arts" studio, this isn't a "fight" studio. Although if you do choose to compete, they will support you 100%, from kids to adults. From the first trial lesson, she was hooked and has been thriving ever since. She attends 5 days a week of her own volition, she competes (and wins!) in tournaments, and she has even been trained to teach the younger students as an assistant instructor. Kung Fu has brought her out of her shell, improved her confidence, and given her a sense of community outside of school that is priceless. I couldn't have asked for better role models for our daughter than Mr. Lee and his exceptional, dedicated team of instructors. Their mentorship has made a lasting impact on her, and we are deeply grateful for the positive example they set every day. I stayed there for some time and throughout the years studied several styles, including Bok fu. Shaolin Black Tiger, Kajukenbo, Judo, Hapkido, Moo Duk Kwan Soobahk Do and others. My moves were not because of styles, schools or instructors but of changes of venue due to employment. Just wanted to say that every style offers something you take with you throughout your life and martial journey. Several of the things taught to me by Grandmaster Lee.. I have taught in my own schools for 26 years and also taught them in Vietnam and the Philippines.. Bok Fu is a fine system that offers any serious student valuable lessons. I did not end up in Bok Fu for a lifetime... I did end up training and teaching for another world renowned Grandmaster in Moo Duk Kwan & hapkido and in martial arts for a lifetime.. but Richard Lee laid the some of the groundwork, 52 years ago, for where I eventually ended up. The old saying can be true, "When the student is ready the teacher appears. and we all eventually reach our personal destination when we are ready.. there we find ourselves.

As a result, I had all but given up trying to reestablish a routine. My back has been an issue for decades and I thought that I'd tried everything - chiropractics, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, accupressure ... you name it. I'd resolved to just live with the nearly constant discomfort and occasional debilitating spasms. However, Gabriele has changed my perspective by focusing on carefully building core strength while not aggravating other issues.
