I went in for a manicure pedicure I did not ask for a butchering. Tech didn't even ask me if I wanted an upgraded service. Bi didn't want the basic pedicure but I guess that didn't matter. This tech cut my foot and it bled pretty seriously. Then when doing manicure she burned me 3 times on my nails with the file. The girl up front answering calls and taking money is oblivious. Didn't ask how my service was just told me the total. She needs to go work at McDonald's. She was dressed in a dress with her bra hanging out? Totally trashy. This place does not understand customer service. This place is garbage. DONT GO!!!! read more

I stopped in and asked for a gel soak off. The technician proceeded to dremel off the polish, and I should have stopped that and pushed that I wanted a soak off. I wasn't having any additional services, so there wasn't a lot of interest in tending to me. My nails are absolutely RUINED!!!! They were dremeled down to paper thin, broke/peeled off below the fingertips right after I left and now two weeks later are still painful. The new growth is showing a ridge line where the healthy nail was filed down. I paid for this??!! I learned a big lesson. Stick with what you want and don't let them do something else. If the polish had been soaked off as I asked I'd still have fingernails. Never ever will set foot in that place again. Buyer beware. read more

Posting for my wife since she doesn't have an account. She went to LA Salon & Spa on Saturday to get a relaxing mani/pedi because it has been a very hard week. While the tech was buffing out her nails she began experiencing pain but thought maybe he's just being thorough. She doesn't like to complain. Apparently he wasn't being careful and was buffing her skin raw on all of her toes with the abrasive material. Then when he put on the other chemicals/alcohol on her now raw/open wounds she was in so much pain she almost went through the roof. She skipped the mani, paid and rushed out and came home crying in pain. She went there to relax, not pay to be tortured and put in agony. These photos were taken a few days later, after it had healed somewhat (browner areas), but you can still see the skin is damaged and still red in some places. May not look like much but try pouring alcohol on any open wound if you think so. It was worse when it happened. This should not happen during a pedicure! She had looked forward to trying LA after reading the reviews, but it was a very bad experience. read more

My daughter had her first formal school dance yesterday so I arranged for her to have her hair done as a treat. Her hairdresser (didn't manage to get her name) humiliated her by saying that she didn't have much hair (it's very fine hair) and acted like she didn't know what to do with it. For $40 she made a half-hearted effort to curl it a bit and put a plait on one side which she clearly didn't know how to do properly and blamed it on my daughter. Unfortunately I wasn't there otherwise I would have addressed it, but when she came home she was sobbing and took out the plait and I had to completely redo it. I'd never go here again - my daughter has successfully had her hair done at other places without issue. This person was clearly grossly unqualified and her attitude ruined what was supposed to be a lovely build up to a great evening. read more

My 5 star rating is for the experience I received. I called LA Salon to find out if they do Brazilian waxes. When they told me they did I scheduled one for the next day. Upon entering the salon I felt a bit unwelcome. The front desk girls were a little snobbish and it seemed like a burden to take my name and find out what I was in for. There was a mix up and kept insisting my name was Deb because that's who they had in the schedule. I kept insisting back that my name was NOT Deb but I indeed had an appointment scheduled from the day before. It was a little bit of a hassle but overlooked. The wax by Kim was amazing. Never have I felt so at ease with someone waxing my precious lady bits. She makes you feel so comfortable. Asks about you, your life, talks about her and her experiences waxing. It was never awkward for a second. I schedule appointments with her on a monthly basis now. I highly recommend Kim. Not to mention the price of $40 is unbeatable! read more

Received a gift card to go here. Hardly any staff in the spa as the receptionist said they only have two ppl working so unable to get an appt for a pedicure for the second weekend in a row. The male spa manager has routinely been exceptionally rude in the past accused me of trying to get free services when the manicurist offered me a "special deal" on her own, then he angrily accused me of trying to get away with something. They are terrible. Would give less then one star if possible. read more

I had gone to LA Salon and Day Spa a couple years ago and the girl that did my nails left and I ended up letting my acrylics grow out. I was getting married this past weekend so I scheduled an appointment to have acrylics put back on. I mentioned to the girl that scheduled me that it was for MY wedding and that I wanted someone really good. She scheduled me with Helen. (I was UNIMPRESSED) My daughter and I were actually scheduled. (My daughter was scheduled with Sonny). Long story made short... Comparing my nails and service compared to my daughters, who had the same exact thing except she picked the gel polish, Helen RUSHED through my nails... She was about to start painting my nails right after she got done filing the acrylic down. I had to ask, "shouldn't I go wash up???". She never used lotion or a hot cloth on my hands, which my daughter did get. I wanted to go pay prior to getting my nails painted and she said no. So I risked messing up my nails once they were complete to pay. And when I left, I had clumps of acrylic under my nails that I had to go home to remove along with white nail polish from my hands and fingers!!! When I called to tell the manager, she offered me to come back in and another person there can fix it within 24 hours. I WAS GETTING MARRIED THE NEXT DAY!!! I didn't have time to go back in AGAIN!!! She never offered to redo them at another time... She never offered to refund ANY of the money that I spent there to try to make it right. I will NEVER go back there and I will NEVER refer anyone to this salon!!! LOOKING FOR A GOOD NAIL PLACE... ANY GOOD RECOMMENDATIONS??? read more

This review is only for pedicures. I can't comment on the hair services or manicures but I have been coming for pedicures here 2-3 times a year for the past year. I chose them because you can make an appt and when you do you are served promptly. However, the quality of the pedicures has fallen dramatically-so much so that I will not be back. When I first came they offered you a choice of lotion and gave a nice massage and used a battery operated sander to really remove calluses-I thought it was well worth the premium for such thorough service but little by little the quality has gone done-yesterday when my daughter and I were in we barely had a massage and they just used chocolate lotion (ick!) and never asked for what type I might prefer-the callus removal was minimal and they didn't use the machine-the entire sad pedi was over in less than 30 min and with tip I spent $85 for two of us-what a rip-off. Try Elite Nails or Asia nails for far better service! read more

The person at the front desk was not very friendly or helpful. Anyway, I went to get a wax and I told the woman what I wanted and didn't want and she did what I did not want anyway. I was furious, I specially told her what not to do, even spoke up during and she still did it. Then did not do where I needed it done. I have been going to LA Salon and Spa for several years for a variety of services including blowouts, manicures, pedicures and waxes. While the service has generally been fine, I have reached my limit with the absolute incompetence and nastiness of the front desk / schedulers. Last I checked, this is a service business and it absolutely escapes me how this business fails to recognize this. Appointments are habitually incorrectly recorded (you name it - wrong time, wrong person, wrong date, the staff operates as if they are troubled whenever they are called, and despite all the errors, they are never remotely apologetic. My most recent experience. I made an appointment two weeks prior for a blowout today. I always schedule these with the same person and thus I was stunned to learn that I was moved to scope one else when they called to confirm my appointment. As I was attending an event this evening, I was particularly concerned and asked for a call back to see if this could get corrected. No call. I called again in the morning. Again I asked if I could be squeezed in with my normal stylist. I was itold no. Not a single apology. I asked to speak with a manager or the stylist. Was told I would receive a call back. Good thing I didn't hold my breath. While errors certainly can happen, the velocity in which they occur here are simply unacceptable. It is doubly disappointing that this business fails to even try to make things right. Note to new owners - please address your front desk. Perhaps hire someone who actually has a positive attitude and cares more about clients then texting on their phones. read more

Had a pedicure here last week. It was the worst, pedicure I ever had. A man did it and was so incredibly rough. He was cutting my nails so short and then actually cut my skin because he was so rough. It seemed like he was in a rush. A pedi is supposed to be relaxing and it was so stressful! When he was removing the callus from my feet I was jumping out of my chair! Horrible! I did a walk-in for a set of acrylics. First time here. Very clean & professional. They took me back right away. Granted, it's Monday @1pm and raining, so maybe take that into consideration too. The guy totally knew what he was doing & was detail oriented. Cuticles, shape & color were all perfect. After they were dry, he massaged some lotion and a hot towel. Very nice. I had walked in for just an eyebrow wax and I was told by the lady who was doing my friends hair that after she was finished she would do them. After my friend was done with her hair the hairdresser had a customer right after to take care of. I told the receptionist she couldn't take me for my wax and assured me somebody would. I was there for 45 minutes and not one person could do my wax. After I went up to the receptionist and told her It was a long wait she gave me attitude and said I didn't have an appointment when the door says "walk ins welcome" The receptionists name was Britney very rude and not friendly!! I've been here before without an issue, overall a good experience. That being said this last time I went I don't know who the guy was,he is someone that has been there awhile, but he ripped off the sides of my toenail. It hurt while he was doing it but I thought it would feel better. Today though my right toe is sore,red and maybe even slightly swollen by the nail. Have been here a few times and disappointed every time.. The only good thing they offer are disposable liners for the pedicure tubs. I have put together ladies nights where several of us go in , with reservations, to spend time with our friends kid free and they have botched it 2 times, the first time they had 2 of us go back for pedicures while the others stood around to wait. Then the first 2 had to stand around and wait for us. the 2nd time they were just really rude to all of us and rushed us out the door. Its a shame cause as moms we don't always get to see our friends without our kids with us. My 6 year old daughter and I went in for a manicure, which id never spend $$ on a manicure for a kid but it was the only time I could get in was while she was home from school. The lady seemed annoyed to have to do a childs manicure, rushed through hers then stuck her on the dryer machine while she did mine. Every time my daughter would walk over she would "sheesh" her away back to the dryer machine.. then whacked me full price for her manicure... The final straw was a time when I was going to splurge on an up do for the Military Ball, I made an appointment and arrived on time very excited to be getting my hair done. I waited well over 30 minutes for the hair stylist.. Finally a girl came out and said he was running behind and she will take me back to "wash my hair", well I know you don't wash hair before an up do. I waited a little while longer and could here the stylist talking to the guy he was cutting his hair. He made no attempt at all to apologize or heaven forbid rush to get me in. I DID HAVE AN APPOINTMENT.... I left.. I was kind of expecting a phone call to apologize since they had my number from the appointment but got nothing.. Very disappointed. I've been going to LA Salon for about one year, based on a recommendation by a friend. The salon is very nice, large, and clean with one side for hair and the other for nails. I use both. Kristen does a great job cutting my hair; she is very gentle, soft-spoken, and a good listener. I have color done once in a while and she does a very nice job. She is always ready for me at my appointment time. Daisy does my gel manicures and pedicures. She has a very nice personality and does a beautiful, thorough job; she is patient when I decide I don't like the color I picked. They use tub liners so it is nice and clean. Tommy is also excellent for manicures. They are ready for me at my appointment time. I'm very happy and comfortable going to LA Salon with the people I'm currently using. I just wish they did a little shoulder massage after a manicure/pedicure. read more

Looks very nice.. Have lots of choices for lotion and nails and very big with lots of stations for manicures and pedicures.. However way over priced for not a good experience at all. There is a very plain pamphlet of their services and prices.. But no description of what is included for example different levels of the pedicures/manicures. It states something like "express, spa, delux, special" that's all. Not like "with this deluxe you get a sugar scrub and massage" nothing. No one asked what level I wanted they just did it and I'm assuming I got the highest level Bc my bill with a manicure was $75 which I think think is outrageous since typically I get a pedicure for $55 that is 10,000x better than it was here. My feet feel just as bad as they did previous to going, they didn't shave/sand off dead skin or even effectively use the pumice stone- just basically glided it around my foot for a few seconds. Massage of legs and feet was very minimal and not very good. I'm mostly annoyed that there was no description or asking of what pay level I wanted. I asked at the cash register when I saw the bill but I could not understand the lady so I still don't know. I just know I'm never going back. read more

Michele, that is perfectly fine that you like this place. Supporting the business you work for or one that belongs to a friend is great. But when it has not happened to you, don't comment, when it was not your personal experience. We found the place to be very unprofessional by the owner. We were told to get a filling in about 3 weeks. The manicure that was received already was chipping by day 2 and the false nails were falling off by the 10th day. We went in within the 3 weeks time and were told to make an appt. NO ONE WAS LOOKING FOR A FREEBIE, just to stand by the work that was given. read more

A family friend told me about la salon and im soo happy she did! I had my hair styled here for my brother's wedding this past Saturday, I had a consolation with the young lady that did my hair about three weeks prior, I showed her some pictures told her what I wanted but explained to her that I didn't know if it was possible because I have very fine hair. She was AWESOME! I left feeling totally confident that she was going to do an awesome job the day of the wedding, and that she did! When I went back for the real deal I didn't even have to tell her what it was I wanted she just remembered and got right to work! Now the wedding was outdoors and I danced my butt off and by the end of the night my hair still looked great. The girls name was Kristen, she's very professional and she really knows what she's doing! My mom and sister also went; they got their hair done by two other ladies who also did an amazing job! I went with girlfriends to get a pedi. The nail polish they used just gummed up and literally "melted" off my feet. I had to remove the nail polish myself. The only option they gave me was to come back and they would fix it. I had limited time and was visiting from out of town and could not return and spend an additional hour of my time for the fix. I politely requested a 50% reimbursement and they would not do it. Save your $45 and go somewhere where customer service means something. read more

I went to this salon for a French pedicure. On the third day the clear coat of nail polish began cracking on several toes. I called and explained the situation and asked if I could just pick a color instead of repeating a French. The receptionist told me that would be no problem. The man who did my toes changed the polish and when I was about to leave i was told I would be charged for a nail polish change. i was accused of just not liking the color and that's why I would be charged. Fortunately I didn't have to pay but I will never go there again. They were very unprofessional. Both times I was there the nail specialist didn't introduce themselves and they did not make me feel welcomed. When they did speak it was mainly in their native language. I am very unhappy with the customer service I received at LA Salon. The polish color used for my manicure was no where near the color I chose on the sample nails. I voiced my concern when the technician painted my first nail and again when I was paying my bill. Both times, my concerns were ignored. I called twice over the next week, asking to speak to, or receive a call back from a manager, but never received a call back. I stopped in once again show them how different my nail color was, from the one I had chosen. I was given the offer to have the color "fixed" but the receptionist was not sure I would not be charged for this and no one else seemed to have any authority. I've been here quite a few times in the past, however my visit a week ago will be my last. I've never had such an awful manicure and pedicure. The woman who did my nails was cutting the sides of them (which made my nails look a weird shape, no need to have done this and I've never had anyone do this before), and hurt my toes so bad. She also ripped apart my cuticles making them look very rough and tried to tell me they were dry. 2 of my toes were in such pain during my vacation. I also got a gel manicure. The color I picked was apparently old. Instead of telling me to pick a different color, she continued to do my nails. They looked terrible when I got to see the finished product! Streaky and you could see me nail underneath. I walked to the counter and told them how upset I was, and asked for someone else to redo them for me. Noone else was apparently available for the rest of the day, so the same woman redid them with a "new" Polish. While they looked much better than the first time, the shape of some of my nails could not be fixed. Oh and I wanted a simple design on one of my nails and she had no idea how to make a few lines with a different color. Very expensive for just a mani/pedi that was terrible and not much was done to fix the situation. Will not go back. read more
