I wish I could give no stars. I ordered 2 tacos for lunch, and the tacos tasted weird like dish soap. I called to make a complaint and this lady answered phone. I told her my complaint and she accused me of wanting something free. She yelled at me and i am beyond traumatized by our conversation. She accused me of lying and stated she tasted the meat, while on the phone, which was lie. In addition, i told he i have ordered several times, and this has been the third time my ordered has been horrible. She further stated why do i continue to. I really like this place because it tastes like the tacos I grew up on. The only thing is it's very salty. So I usually order the taco salad so the lettuce can absorb the salt. But the people are always friendly inside. They only messed up my order once. I always ask for black beans, got all the way home, and had to come back because they put pinto, and when I went back, they told me I requested pinto. I WOULD NEVER lol. But other than that one small mistake, This place is always good. The portions are large, and the price is standard. It usually takes me two sittings to finish the salad. They also carry a variety of delicious cheesecakes from Cali Love Pies. My favorite is the peach cobbler cheesecake and banana pudding cheesecake. read more

Since I moved to the Torrance area I have been trying to find new places to eat so I went to my trusty Yelp app and found this place and didn't know what to expect. It was nice inside and clean and that was promising so I ordered 1 ground beef and 2 turkey tacos and some fries which didn't take long at all. I started on the fries 1st since they were still nice and hot not bad at all then I had one of the beef tacos and I was expecting grounded up ground beef but it was some kind of ground beef paste which was good and had flavor, then I had the turkey taco and like the ground beef taco is was some kind of turkey paste which was good as well with flavor. If I had do it again I would order 2 turkey and try the brisket tacos they have a new customer in me. read more

I really tried to support LA Taco House--especially as a Black-owned business--but unfortunately, the experience just keeps going downhill. My wife, who is pregnant, needed to use the restroom before ordering. The staff refused and told her she had to buy something first. That's unacceptable. Even 5-star restaurants don't treat people like that--and the food at those places is actually worth it. This wasn't our first time giving this place a chance. On our first visit, an older woman behind the counter had a terrible attitude and the food was way too salty. We chalked it up to a bad day and decided to try again. Big mistake. The same rude attitude, lack of hospitality, and no sense of customer service. There's no ambiance, no professionalism--just bad energy and heavy seasoning salt like it's 1999. It's 2025--people are watching their health, and this food feels more like a health hazard than a meal. I'm a chef at a 5-star establishment, and I can tell you this isn't it. My first order and items I paid for were missing. Today I ordered three beef tacos and one mini beef burrito. As of right now, I have only tasted one of the tacos, which is a little over-seasoned to me. I requested and paid for red salsa and pico de gallo, but I did not receive either one. Nothing irritates me more than requesting and paying for an item that is offered and not receiving it. I will probably give them one more try, but would definitely order a different type of meat. This order was through DoorDash. These restaurants should pay closer attention to getting an order right because sometimes the first order is the last. read more

But I had to laugh a little bit y'all...lol...b/c I asked the young lady behind the counter how long it would take for my order to be ready, she told me "I have no idea b/c there were a lot of orders"...lol...Customer Service 101...you can't tell folks you don't have no idea...lol...Tell me something! 15-20 minutes, not, "I don't have no idea"...lol...Please understand, she wasn't rude, sarcastic, nothing like that at all. It was just her honest assessment, and not the over-the-counter etiquette that you'd expect from those of us that are seasoned CS Rep.'s Moving on to the food! Mm...mm...mm! This is my third time coming to LA Taco House. My mother is a taco fanatic, so I find myself at random taco establishments throughout my week and I've grown fond of a few. Unfortunately, I won't come back to this location. The first two times, the food was pretty good. There's a small variety of items on the menu including Taco's, Nacho's, Burritos and Taco Fries. All include a choice of Chicken, Ground beef or Turkey. If you have EBT, there's a three-taco special with a drink. Points for that. I always shoot for the ground beef, hold the salad. The first two times, the meat was seasoned with a heavy hand however I washed it down with a Coca Cola & water and all was well. The customer service was mid however the food came out hot within ten minutes both times. Tonight however, the service was poor. After the person in front of me inquired about her order, the young lady walked away from the counter and said, "I don't want to talk to customers". So, a gentleman walked up and took care of us, which was cool. Once I ordered, I left out as the atmosphere was too loud. There's a man leaning over a table seemingly doing nothing however that's every time I come. While waiting for my order, the gentleman who took my order walks out to his car and the young lady who "Didn't want to talk to customers" is on his heels. Who's cooking the food?! The two of them went to the car twice together albeit briefly while this strange guy is leaning over tables staring the customers down. Once I received my food, it was heavily seasoned to the point I ate one taco and discarded the rest. I would have returned it however the environment wasn't welcoming, and I felt if I said something, it would have been met with hostility or an attitude. There was no professionalism and for those reasons I won't be back. The taco competition is thick. There's Taco Pete on Slauson, Bills on Manchester and House of Tacos in Inglewood. I'm going to pick consistency and customer service every time. I love to support small business as they shape our community however that comradery has to be returned. read more

So today i got the run around today.i had ordered about 6 items but they had said they didn't get the order 30 minutes after the order said it was ready for pick up - The lady in front gave me a random order dropping it on the table - so i go and show her the order twice and she says we dont have the order once again its almost like they didnt want the money. this would've been my first time ordering from there but i never got the order - i believe it was a ticketing problem but besides that - the customer service wasn't pleasant - its a-shame because everybody is saying this is a good food spot - why not have people that want to work there! read more

First of all, we need to support Black owned local businesses here in LA. I was curious about LA Taco House, and I'm very glad that I tried them out. Their food is so delicious, and the employees are very nice. Inside the restaurant, is very calm, and it's kinda sports bar like. So that was very nice. They have tacos, burritos, nachos, taco salads. Just a wide variety on the menu. They also have a lot of protein options, chicken, beef, turkey, or barbecue brisket. So many options, it's great. I am just very satisfied with my food, and they care about their customers. I feel one outstanding thing, is their portion sizes. Their burritos are large, their nacho, and nacho fries portions are large. They will definitely hook you up, and give you some good food. This was a doordash order so I can't speak on the customer service, but I'll keep it 100. If you're looking for Mexican food this ain't it, Jose and nem did not cook this food. This is a black owned establishment, so if you're African American and your mom made tacos for you as a kid, they probably were similar to this. REMEMBER I said SIMILAR, not exact! Pros: Not skimpy on the portions at all! There was so much meat and toppings in the damn tacos, I needed an extra shell. The mini burrito was thick af, and idk if it was the rice or the Chipotle sauce, but something in that burrito was HITTING! The only thing missing was a crunch, like some fritos or something, lol. All food was sealed and packaged well. Cons: The food wasn't bad, but it was salty af. I know us folks like to season our food till the ancestors say stop, but don't listen to that drunk auntie ancestor that can't remember if she added salt the first time around! so many other seasonings available to bring out flavor. The black taco spots in LA all tend to be heavy-handed with the salt though. In conclusion, I would go back if they eased up on the sodium, and if not, I wish them the best of luck! read more

So this was my second time going to LA taco house. The first experience I had a L.A. taco house was much better than I thought it was going to be so the second time I was really excited to order some tacos from here. Needless to say they didn't disappoint. I ordered two ground beef tacos, and the cashier lady that attended me was amazing. She was very friendly and pretty much nailed it with the service with a smile! I live like right down the street from this so it's very accessible to me. The food was prepared within minutes, so I didn't wait long. I like the inside of the restaurant. they have clean tables and a nice environment. They really won me over with the art that they have- one piece in particular, which was the entrance to the 39th St., Coliseum, a Los Angeles staple. She took our order wrong but refused to be corrected so we settled for 2 beef tacos and one chicken taco. Once the order was near completion she asked if we wanted red or green sauce, I responded "whichever one is spicier" she responded rudely "well they're both mild soooooo" and I asked "well can you put them on the side" she again responded rudely "well yeah they are on the side" AGAIN this is my first time being here which she knew. At that point I let my boyfriend decide on the sauce and decided to leave the menu on the counter. I really hope she can find the time to have a better attitude while proudly representing a black owned business. We already have it hard as is and I could maybe understand if the place was busy but it was literally just two customers, me and my boyfriend. very weird energy. Well hot damn. Been driving past here forever and finally stopped in with the kid. Friendly service and fast cooking for us our ground beef tacos and nacho fries in no time. We ordered hard shell tacos and they were absolutely amazing. Served with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and (for .50¢ bucks extra) sour cream they may sound like basic lunch room tacos but they weren't. The ground beef was exquisite. The spice blend was perfect. We were stoked. The nacho fries were equally delicious and they give you a hefty serving. All in all, LA Taco house is well worth a visit. The only drawback is the parking lot is extremely tight so contemplate parking a block away. read more

Passed by this joint for over a year now and stopped by after looking over their menu from the door. Was pleasantly surprised to learn it was a Black-owned business. The restaurant itself is def a love letter to Los Angeles w the cool wall art all depicting different images dedicated to LA and its monuments. The establishment was busy the whole time I was there w delivery orders coming in and out and customers coming in. The woman behind the counter was so polite and informed ppl proactively that they were short staffed so it might take a minute for your order. I was also very happy to learn they had a very clean bathroom where I could wash my hands before my meal. I ordered four hardshell ground beef tacos and a Cactus Cooler. First off nothing beats a cold canned Cactus Cooler. Second, the food was so delicious, and it made me nostalgic for my grandma's homemade hardshell tacos. These tacos were def my soul food. These tacos tasted like an old Mexican woman made them in her kitchen and I was so pleased. The shells were hard fried. The ground beef was well seasoned--even though there was a bit more salt but not overpowering. The tacos were overstuffed so well you pick up every last bite w a fork after you're done. The green sauce was so tasty w the right hint of hot. They also place Louisiana hot sauces on the table for those who prefer that type of hot sauce. I will say I was expecting more from the house red sauce--but it seemed like it was just pico de gallo tomato sauce. These tacos also reminded me of the old El Rey hardshell tacos, so I was in heaven. I made sure to thank the woman at the counter for the delicious tacos when I left.
