Since we really had no winter here this year and this last week of "winter" is going to be in the 70's, the ladies are showing their limbs already. A couple days ago though, we saw some legs that were whiter than Casper!! It scared the heck out of us!! About three times now, I've been asked by the same young blonde woman if I had lotion and eyewear with me. (I'm sure it's a way to catch me for a quick sale of their products if I didn't have either.) Each time, I always had my stuff. Being asked that question is not the problem. I get it; it's also for safety reason. My problem is she goes FURTHER by physically inspecting my stuff (particularly my goggles). I find this practice very odd and rather intimidating. In fact, today I had the misfortune of having her once again to check me in. Sure enough, she questioned if I had my lotion and eyewear -- which were already in clear view in my hands! Still, she asked to "see them." Seriously??? Did I just walk into a military checkpoint? Quite frankly, I'd rather be strip-searched by a TSA agent at the airport; at least, they have a valid reason to do so. read more

This one is closer to my house, so that's why I keep going. But I agree with Kelley from 8/14/2012, and it is 11/22/2013 now. So the problems have not been addressed. I am definitely thrown off every time when there is a girl smoking in front, or making out with her male friend in the lot and then coming into the shop and asking if I have been helped. AWKWARD! I am twenty, married, and own my own business. So my expectations for ladies in my age group is unrealistic. But my expectation for management is not. I am pretty sure the manager is an older lady with short blonde hair. Sometimes I have seen her at night when I go. Well here is the thing with her. She is always on the phone when I go in, so that is why I have never been able to ask her. And when someone pulls her away from her phone, shes no bed of roses to talk to. I went in for face tanner once, it is a cream. I guess they just got a new shipment of it because all of the girls who were either working or hanging out for the day were drooling over the fact that they "arent allowed to buy it" during certain times. Cool girls, let's move on and sell to the customer instead okay? I could go across the street to ZIP fitness and pay $10 less per month for unlimited tanning and exercise. So these management concerns really need to be addressed before it's too late and everyone starts doing that. I can't imagine corporate LA Tan liking the sounds of any of this. This particular industry banks on people wanting to be beautiful. Illinois-ers for sure don't view cigarettes as beautiful, that is why it is BANNED inside public buildings! read more

this tanning salon is VERY dirty. I pulled out a bench in one of the booths & you can tell it's never been cleaned underneath. the beds always have fingerprints & smudges on them. this salon needs to realize a clean tanning salon is very important. I hope this salon either gets shut down or gets taken under new ownership that will actually care about cleanliness. the girls that work there are pretty nice & don't annoy you being pushy with sales, but that's the only good thing. read more

I would call this tanning salon a hangout for highschool/college girls. The employees are constantly chatting with their friends that come in to tan, always smoking right by the front door,EATING (always) sucking their fingers and lips. Disgusting! They have no manners what so ever. You have to repeat your name about 4 times for them to hear you. Always on their cell phones. The positive side is the daily special prices. read more

Not happy with this location at all. With my membership all they allow me to do is a level 1, when every other location has me doing level 3 and up. The ladies that work here are also a joke. One night on a Tuesday, their $5 tanning days, a friend and I walked in at 5:44pm, their last tan being at 5:40. The woman told us that we couldn't tan, so we walked back to our car. Typical tanning place and super expensive. When you sign up they don't tell you about how you have to pay for atleast 3 months so I stopped going after one and then got charged for the 2 months after when I didn't even go and nothing was done about it. Now I just go tanning at my gym with the membership that can be cancelled at ANY TIME. read more

Love this place and the staff! I was on a hunt for a while because my other tanning salon closed, so I was was looking everywhere. I did try a few places and was not too happy so I gave L.A. Tan a try. Honestly, I didn't know why I waited this long to go there! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't make me feel just like a customer. With in a few visits, they knew my name, how long I wanted to tan and what bed I used. Yes, I know it's in the files but in most places they still ask and that get annoying! As I always burn and never tan I was a little hesitant to sign up for a membership lasting 3 months but now I am soooooo happy that I did it and I've even upgraded my package since then. The girls at the front desk are so helpful with answering my 20 questions every time I stop in and recommending the right lotions for me that I have developed a wonderful glow and am able to keep it up. I've been to other LA locations and this location is by far the best! Very clean, well maintained, and over all a great experience. I have recommended this location to some of my friends and they love it just as much. Wouldn't go any where else :) read more

This is an amazing salon. The girls are so sweet and very helpful with any kind of question. They have nice equipment and it's always very clean. Their higher levels beds are the best I've been to. They also have a large lotion collection that I loved. Their management team is always helpful and understanding. They also have great deals and specials going on each month. Amazing atmosphere to be in, definitely the best tanning salon I've been to, I'll never stop tanning here! read more

Pretty nice. They have daily deals every week. My personal favorite is $10 spray tans. I did try one bed on a free tan offer and it was kind of falling apart but the booths ate clean and everything looks nice and posh. I'll be back next Monday! read more

i've been going to tropical tan my whole life and decided to try something new and do LA tan. big mistake. tropical tan has towels in the room, mints, body spray, cocoa butter, and a full length mirror all for ~$7 on ANY level bed. LA tan has none of that, and my tan was $27. so the same level, with less amenities, was $20 more??? big rip off if you ask me. go to tropical tan! don't waste your money here! read more

This is my 2nd year getting Air Brushed tans I go weekly The young woman who does my air brushing is absolutely wonderful Her name is Annie. She is sweet, pleasant, always has a smile and always fits me into the schedule. My work hours can change with 1 phone call. Then I call Annie and then she makes room for me to still come in that day to get my air bushing. I will never go anywhere else. Do not go here! The customer service is awful. The employees are rude and know very little about the products and services offered. And whatever you do, do not sign up for a membership; you'll have to jump through hoops to cancel it. Once they have your credit card information, they will have a million reasons why you can't cancel your membership (i.e. you have to do it before the 10th of the month, there is a 3 month min. blah blah blah) and your card will continued to be charged. Also, there isn't a manager on site. So no one has any power to do anything to help you. The girl at the front desk will claim to "e-mail" the manager; but I doubt she actually does because the problems are never resolved. I'm telling you, this place is a nightmare. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Don't waste your time or money! I've had nothing but problems with them over charging me since I joined in late March. I repeated 3 different times that I wanted the 29.99 plan and they still signed me up for 39.99 plan. Then when I went in to have them fix it , I was told that there was nothing they can do right now and that I would have to call back when a manager was there. No apology, no offer to have the manager contact me. I went in yesterday and once I got into the room I realized the bed said 0 minutes, so I got dressed and told the girl it said 0. She said okay no problem I'll reset it. I went back to the room and it still said 0 minutes. When I reported this she said she didn't know what to do and that I just needed to hold on a few more minutes. 25 minutes later still nothing, so I left. I went back to tan today and was told I needed to wait 40 minutes because it hadn't been 24 hours. I told her that was not correct, and that after wasting over 30 minutes of my time yesterday I was not able to tan because the beds were not working. The girl scrunched up her nose and said "ooookay, you can go in room 8". No "I'm sorry that happened" or anything! I've honestly never experienced such terrible customer service in my life! I'm sorry I ever even bothered to go in there. read more
