Oscar is great! I needed links taken out of my watch. Got there right at 10 and he was there. I was in and out so fast.

I have been a loyal customer of LA Watch on Ventura Boulevard for many years, but after my recent experience, I will never return. The owner and one of his employees provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Their attitude was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. Instead of treating a long-time customer with appreciation, they spoke to me in a disrespectful manner that made me feel sick. What made the experience even more disappointing was the inconsistent pricing. Just last week, one of my friends whom I referred to this store was charged only $12 for a watch battery replacement and paid by credit card without any additional fee. Yesterday, I brought in four watches to replace the batteries, and I was charged $15 for each watch, plus tax, plus an additional 3% credit card processing fee. While I was there, another customer came in with one watch and was charged only $12 with no extra credit card fee. For years, I have referred many friends and family members to this store and regularly brought in multiple watches at a time--sometimes more than ten watches in a single visit. This is how a loyal customer was treated. I don't mind paying a fair price, but I do expect consistency, honesty, and respect. Unfortunately, I received none of those. There are many other watch repair shops in the area that offer fair pricing, excellent customer service, and treat every customer with respect. I no longer recommend this store and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

They are hard to reach by phone. In fact, I don't think the phone number works, but I drove in and they fixed my watch for a super affordable price. I wish I could figure out a way to reach them by phone, but if you're in the area, definitely drive in. read more

I am writing this review to share my negative experience with LA watches. I believe that anyone who is planning to go to this repair shop should stop and think twice before giving them your favorite watch or jewelry to repair. I had an 8 year old Rolex Submariner which had a broken automatic winding feature. When the owner took my watch for service and told me he replaced the original auto winding with original Rolex new parts, offering me a good price 3x cheaper than the official Rolex dealer. I paid the $600 but did not receive a receipt and original broken parts back. My watch came back "repaired" after one week. My auto winding worked fine, but manual winding stopped working. When I came back to the shop and explained the situation, the owner was very rude to me during this exchange and told me that it is broken and needs a repair, additionally I would have to pay again. From now on I will only be going to OFFICIAL Rolex dealers to repair my watches. Additionally, My elderly mother took her watch to LA watch to get her battery replaced for $8. 2 months later, the battery on the watch started to leak, destroying the watch mechanism. This made me replace the watch ,which cost me another $200 out of pocket. LA watches has lost my trust and business. I will continue to inform all my Tarzana neighbors about this terrible experience, because nobody deserves to get their watches ruined. read more

This is a well known shop in Tarzana, who I have always taken my watches to, they have changed crystals,, crowns, watch bands, and batteries. Service is second to none!! If they can repair something while you wait they will do that. They are polite, courteous, with a watchmaker that has several years of experience A father and son, They do know all watches from inexpensive to high end time pieces! I've stopped in a number of times over at least 15 yrs when I have a simple repair job, like replacing a watch battery, or something much more involved. They are always very nice people, as they were when I had a battery replaced this afternoon. If the battery needs replacing, my experience is that it has always taken only a couple of mins. During the short wait, I enjoy looking over all the various watches on display. Very reasonable costs. The gentleman who does the repair work is obviously an incredibly experienced professional. HORRIBLE SERVICE. This is one of those places where its your fault things didnt work. I had my watched fixed... Older man said i needed to replace the inner parts. I agreed. Payed him and later that day, it gets a slight cloud of moisture in there. Old man asks me why I put it in water again... WTF?. I just payed to fix it..why would i get it wet?? Ok whatever. . He took it apart and dried it more. A week later, the stupid pin falls out that sets the time... i come back again. Older lady gets it and says someone will call me. Almost 3 weeks later and no call. I go check and as soon as i walk in.. he ask..Why did you break it? WTF?? REALLY? ? I didnt break my watch, its your horrible attention to your job. I will NEVER recommend this place. Love supporting this neighborhood business. Yes, it's a family affair (cue Sly and the family Stone song) and the patriarch knows his business. Lots of watch knowledge here. I've brought both vintage and modern watches here for repair, always with excellent result and very reasonable prices (aka, cheap). I've also purchased a new Hamilton here at a good price. I tried to sell him my Hamilton Below Zero, but he smartly defended his (lower than I wanted) offer. A great place, at their prices I'm not sure how they afford the Ventura Blvd strip mall rent, but I hope they stay in business for a long time. read more

Quick and easy watch repair near my office. I went in to have the battery on my Michele Chronograph replaced. They did it within ten minutes and also put a new band on my father's Seiko watch. Excellent customer service and incredibly speedy repairs. When I arrived there were two men waiting on watch repairs, despite which I still had both of my watches ready to go in under ten minutes. They had an excellent selection of leather bands to choose from in addition to replacement metal bracelets. Not an incredibly large selection of watches to chose from if hoping to purchase new, but moderate. The jewelry offered here is a little bit dated, mostly gold with gemstones. Overall, excellent watch repair. Come here to fix watches, not buy new ones. read more

I just learned my nearly blind mother in law has been taking her led lit magnifying reader to LA Watches to get the batteries replaced and these guys were charging her $45 to replace 3 batteries that I just bought for her on Amazon for $5. What the hell? Needless to say, she won't be going back there, I will never go there and all of you reading this should avoid going there - especially if you want to trust the person doing the work for you - otherwise, you are sure to be ripped off. I've been going here for years. They are not just about watches. They have done so much jewelry repair for me over the years and have always done an outstanding job. They even took some of my vintage earrings and changed out the old uncomfortable clip for screw on backs for pierced ears. Amazing customer service. Brought my watch in to have serviced (as was told by another shop), turns out all I needed was to have the battery changed. I'm glad I came here! Watch is working great.
