There are numerous reasons why this family-owned business has been very successful for over 30 years in watch sales and repairs: 1) honesty and respectful with all customers, 2) fair prices 3) fast service, especially simple repairs like wrist band sizing and replacing watch batteries, etc. (you can wait inside store while browsing all the new watches, clocks, wrist band replacements and other interesting misc. stuff). Saw the good reviews on Yelp and came in to get a new battery on a watch. $15.00 and it took less than 5 minutes. I also dropped off an old Dr. Pepper Clock and they said it would be $55.00 and take 1-2 weeks to fix the battery on that one. Inquired through Yelp Messaging about replacing some watch batteries. Responses were prompt and informative (how much, how long, etc). Stopped in when I had a bit of time with my 3 watches; the kind woman helping me said about 15 minutes. The watches were done in even less time and she set all the watches for me, including resetting the stopwatch function on one of the watches that I probably messed up inadvertently. Fast, reasonably priced, one-year warranty on the batteries (though she said they'll probably last 2-3 years). The only downside is the small buy busy parking lot; not the business's fault, though. I thought the batteries where out on both watches but Ron educated me on my watches that one is solar powered & the other is activated through motion. Was very honest and fair with me. I have been a loyal customer of Timekeeper for close to 20 years and have done business with them without issue, which makes this recent experience deeply disappointing and concerning. Two weeks ago, I visited the store to have the battery replaced on my Movado Classic watch (a cash sale). The Problem: One week after the service, the battery cover--which was clearly not sealed or replaced properly by the technician--came off and was lost, leaving the sensitive internal mechanism of my watch exposed. The Resolution (Failure): I immediately returned to the store seeking a resolution. Instead of acknowledging the clear service error, the store attendant repeatedly denied that the battery was theirs, and therefore refused to take responsibility for the cover coming off. This response effectively called me a liar, despite my two decades of patronage. I will never return to Timekeeper, and I strongly advise potential customers to STAY AWAY. A business that cannot handle a simple battery replacement correctly and then insults a long-term customer to avoid a simple fix does not deserve your business. read more

I brought in my dad's vintage Lord Elgin watch to be serviced and was met with absolutely incredible service. The watch was stuck and Ron opened it up and fixed the jam without charging me anything. He then suggested I wear it for a bit before going for a full $250 service. I practically had to insist on making a purchase that day! I told him I also wanted to replace the strap and he had a great selection. I picked out a strap, paid $30 and left the store. On my way home, I decided I really wanted a full service and decided to turn around and come back. He charged only $250 for a service of my vintage manual watch, which seemed extremely reasonable. He sourced original Elgin parts for replacement, gently polished the crystal and cleaned the whole movement. When I came in to pick up my watch he gave me some recommendations for how to take good care of it and told me to bring it back in if I have any problems with it. Ron was so sweet and excited about my little watch, I think he went above and beyond to bring it to usable condition. His selection of new Casio and Seiko watches also looked interesting. It seems like he has some models that aren't easy to source in the US. I will be back!! read more

The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful and the rates are great. They tried to assist me with a solar watch that I bought from goodwill online. It was a solar watch but that wasn't charging properly. After a weekend with the shop, they discovered the problem was someone previously trying to use a regular battery instead of the proper capacitor type. They also cleaned my Seiko 5 crystal for a super reasonable price ($15). It was a bit cloudy from years ago and is now clear. It was $45 for the Solar Seiko diagnosis / battery replacement and that's perfectly fine as it's a special battery. read more

I have used this "once" wonderful company to buy new watch batteries for 15 years. The owners were absolutely wonderful people & we became friends. A few days ago I went in again to sadly find that the owners had sold to someone new. "This place is no longer wonderful". The nice employee who used to help me was still there & helped me again, he changed the battery & told me the charge was $10 as it always has been, when I gave him my credit card, for the first time, he asked me could I pay in cash instead of a cc, when I said no, he huddled for several minutes with the new owners, when I saw that I checked my wallet & found I did have the $10 so I paid cash. Today, I went in again to replace another battery & I told one of the owners who helped me that I cannot pay cash, she said why not, I gave you a receipt. I stated that I must pay via credit card cause I run my business that way. She seemed not happy with that, so assuming they did not want to pay the approx 3% fees that the credit card companies charge, I did offer to pay not only the 30 cent cc fee but said I'd even pay $10.50. Then after changing the battery, the other owner brought me the bill & it was for $12, not the $10 i had paid just a few days earlier. When I asked why he was charging me 20% ($2.00) more than a few days earlier for the same battery, he shockingly stated that "he has to make a living." I will never use this company again for there are dozens of watch repair & jewelers in the same area that charge $6-$10 for a watch battery who will happily accept a credit card. read more
