Been coming to John's for some time now. Today I had to have a screw on a Rolex placed back in and he was able to get it done in under 10 min and exactly what I needed. Gained a forever customer read more

Had a great experience here. I came in needing copies and programming for keys and a fob for an industrial cargo van, and John took care of everything in about 20 minutes. Super efficient and knew exactly what he was doing. He worked with me on pricing and even gave me a bundle deal because I have AAA, which I really appreciated. He was genuinely kind, professional, and most importantly felt very trustworthy. As a woman, car-related stuff can sometimes feel uncomfortable because people try to take advantage, but that was not the case here at all. I shopped around beforehand and his prices are fair and honest. Highly recommend if you need key copies or programming done quickly and without the stress. read more

I went to John's Watch Repair on Sepulveda to get my watch set up, and he was extremely helpful and friendly. He helped me set the time and date, explained everything clearly, and made the whole process easy. Great customer service, honest vibe, and definitely a place I'd come back to for watch sizing, setup, or repairs. Highly recommend. read more

I brought in my G-Shock today. The watch works perfectly -- I only wanted the back gasket reseated because I changed the battery last year and noticed moisture once after washing my hands. I explained that I didn't remove any buttons or seals, just the back cover. Instead of listening, the technician insisted that "all button gaskets must be replaced" in order to reseal it and quoted $54 plus ordering parts. This is not true for a simple reseal -- only the back gasket needs to be properly seated unless the buttons were disassembled, which they were not. When I questioned it politely, the technician became irritated and told me "if you don't want it, go somewhere else." No professionalism and no transparency. I ended up visiting another watch shop afterward -- they reseated the gasket correctly in under 10 minutes for $15 and confirmed that no button gaskets were needed. I don't recommend this place due to the attitude and the attempt to upsell unnecessary parts. Customers deserve honesty and respect.FYI the technician was John the owner himself. read more

If I could give this place a negative zero I would 100%.I went here for battery repair and he was rude and condescending also sarcastic! I Left right after. Horrible customer service. STAY AWAY !!!! read more

He quoted me $95 to make a Mazda key which even a greedy Mazda dealer (Galpin) wanted a little over $70 (incl tax) for. Update: He responded me below saying that his quote was $39, which is a total BS. I even repeated to him the $$ he quoted me to clarify. He did offer me a lower quote if I had gone with a different key which did not fit inside the key fob but that option would have been totally useless. This clearly show what kind of business he is running. Of course, I walked away instead of doing business with him. What does he expect?&*^%*??? He might want to consider running an honest business instead of responding to negative reviews with all the lies. Then, he won't need to deal with these negative reviews. read more

SCAMMER!!!! 60 dollar watch resizing, wouldn't give me a price until he saw the watch. I got it resized up the street for 5 bucks. Beware for these scammers. read more

Total bait & switch operation. They tell you a reasonable price to get a smart key made then tell you "you have a special system in your car & it will now cost $450.00 for a key." This requires a $20 non refundable deposit. They have a case of watches for sale where they sell Casio & timex watches, that go for $31.99 on amazon, for $99.00! Or, invicta watches that are $89.00 on amazon, John's price? $499.00! Stay away! ¡$499.00! ¡Aléjate de este lugar! read more

This guy is the biggest con- artist in the valley! If you go to get a battery replaced he will tell u that ur watch battery falls under this category! Also within that category offer u three options 1 year,3 year and 5 years guarantee . Higher u go in years higher the amount u will pay, lol! He states that the 1 year battery is made in China, the 3 year battery is made in Switzerland . That's a bunch of bull, any watch person knows that Japanese batteries , the brand Maxell are good enough to last 2 years ! Why use Chinese battery? There's no reason he should even charge u $30 for a Chinese battery that's costs Penny's on the dollar . That's the first con! The max should be paying is $15/$20 for a battery! Also Chinese batteries can leak. Be careful he's as shady as they come ! Be SAFE! U will go in the store and see the options he has laid out . It's the biggest scam! read more

Came in to make a duplicate key and remote for my car. He said it would cost between $50-100 so i agreed. Paid 20 deposit and came back for my appointment. John inspected the car and said since my vehicle used higher security systems and because its a Japanese and would now cost $200 to make a duplicate. I drive a Honda which is a common car, meaning he does this to a lot of people. I declined to continue with the business because he was dishonest with the original price. Looking here i should've checked the reviews first because he pulled the same bullshit on me. Don't come, he could keep my $20 deposit as long as everyone knows the shady business this guy runs. read more

This place is amazing, I've been coming here for years, John has always been great help. I come here to make copies of keys for work and personal. The quality of their work is 100% always, I've never had any problems with my copies good material and good quality. Thank You John read more

I'm a handicapped senior and thought I was going into a Reputable merchant. I went into John's Watch Repair for the first time today. All I needed was a new battery and have them change my own watch band that I provided. The service technician was extremely rude. I asked him what a new battery would cost and he told me $29.99. If you look on Amazon they only cost $8.00. I can see them double that price but charge $29.99 they were completely taking advantage of me. For him to put my own provided band on that took 2 minutes he changed me $25.00. Again a complete rip off. Then to top everything else off he charged me an extra $6.00 because I paid him with my Visa. Credit card companies do not charge that much of a fee and they actually doubled it. All I can say is be careful who you do business with. I hope that the owner reach this and contact me it's sad that you can't trust people in today's world I do not under any circumstances recommend Jons to anyone. There was absolutely NO value found doing business with John's Watch Repair. read more

I have been a customer of John's for roughly nine years. I needed a few watch batteries replaced and he took care of it! I lived right around the corner from his shop for many years so I used his services from time to time. I live further away now but I always make the trip back over there when I need something! Recently I took 2 watches back because the dead batteries were under warranty; he replaced them both at no charge. I would not hesitate to recommend his services. He's always been kind to me & he's very knowledgeable. read more

This guy is a con artist. He refuses to give prices over the phone because they are astronomically high. Walked in to get pricing for a basic early 2000s toyota transponder key (cut, but unprogrammed) as my model year car allows self programming by following a DIY procedure directly using the ignition. He went on some pitch about how my car requires an expensive programmer to try to upsell me (when it doesn't). In the end he said it will be $95. (When there was the same key on display attached to a sign for $19.99 I can't imagine the $75 difference would be for cutting alone. There was another customer in the store he was giving a similar pitch to and he was being very condescending and dismissive to both of us treating us like children that don't know anything. North Hollywood Toyota sells a GENUINE (not aftermarket) key blank for $22 and I found a locksmith on the way home that was happy to cut it for me for $5. This guy preys on idiots and unfortunately for him, I am not one. read more

I would give this business a minus star but you are forced to give at the bare minimum a 1 star which is unfortunate... Needless to say I am very disappointed in the service I received at this place of business. I went into this place to have a simple house key made which was 5 or 6 bucks which seemed fair and after the key was cut he asked for the money and I preceeded to hand him my debit card. He then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't take any card payments under 20 dollars. I then asked him how much it would be to cut a duplicate key for my 2008 Honda Element which he told be it would be $120. I then asked him how much it would be to replace the alarm remote which he then told me it would be $150 which totals $270. I felt that was high but he did state the key itself has a computer chip so to me it made sense but I did not have the alarm remote or the Honda key cut. I was then instructed I could pull money from the laundry mat next door to him. I needed the house key so I went over to the laundry mat to pull money from their atm which had an additional 3 dollar charge above the amount I pulled. After returning to the pay for my key I asked the man who was working there if he could please write down the price he quoted me so that if I decided to do that could bring in cash so as not to make the same mistake. His response was he didn't want to write it down for me and he then preceded to tell me to just bring him $500 and he would give me the change. I just laughed at him and walked out. The very next day when at work in Thousand Oaks I went into a business called Batteries and Bulbs which I know also cuts keys and does key fobs and remotes as well. The owner was super friendly and helpful, and the key that I was quoted $120 for I got for $20 and the remote that I was quoted $150 for was $100. The moral of this review to is notify people to do your research and most definitely stay away from this place because it seems they like to price gouge and the owner or worker there is ridiculous. read more

I brought my Movado watch at this shop for service. The repair was completed a week earlier compared to sending it to an authorized dealer and the quality of work was excellent.
