First day in Paris and my husband and I decided to have breakfast outside. We wanted coffee and something small to eat. The waiter recommended what was on the chalkboard which was an espresso, juice, bread and jam and a croissant. Everything was nice but wasn't what I expected because there wasn't any meat or greens, just carbs... Oh well, my fault for not learning French and understanding their menu. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxing, we sat outside / smoking section. So many people smoke in front of their own children here... Our server was very nice and the restaurant seemed clean. The restroom was down some spiral stairs and through this storage like area. I was worried it was going to be dirty but it was actually quite clean.

L'Amazonial is located a bit off of the main street, but still close to many other restos. We stumbled upon this place whilst hungry and weary. The menu looked decent from the outside, and just jumped in. Service was good as the place wasn't busy yet - since we came in around 7pm. I ordered the sesame covered fish of the day while the gf tried their steak au poivre. The steak was definitely better. But their apple tart dessert was our real surprise. I really, really liked it. The toffee ice cream and caramel sauced complemented the sweet, warm tart very well. Yum!!

Very nice spot, good service and decent food. They have treated us splendidly. We have had an entree to share and a dish each, which is quite more than enough. I would recommend sharing a bottle of wine and a table of cheese and charcuterie for a "lighter" dinner.

We walked around our hotel area and we decided to dine here. We looked at the menu and we were lucky enough for them to seat us right away. The best part, the waiter spoke English and gave us a menu in English. We didn't have to struggle figuring what to order. I got the ribeye steak and my kids got the pasta. Most of the pastas I saw in the menu had cream sauce and I prefer tomato sauce. I figure I order a steak. I heard that the French portion is quite small so I was quite surprised to see how large the portion is. Of course, the quality of the steak was not the best but it was decent enough. The side steak sauce was excellent. The waiter was exceptional nice and accommodating. He kept on bringing out more bread and butter. Yes, the bread was that good. I tried some pasta and it was great! The creme brûlée was so so good. Overall, this is an excellent restaurant. We would have come back again the next day but we wanted to try another restaurant. Looking back, we should have gone back here.

We were staying nearby and chose to eat here out of the many many choices within a short distance of our apartment. The host was very nice and we sat on the patio to enjoy our drinks and meal. I had the onion soup which was delicious although I would have enjoyed more cheese oozing over the edges of the bowl. My husband had the salmon marine appetizer which was also nice. For dinner I chose the supreme poulet which was roasted chicken with mushroom cream sauce and mashed potatoes. Crispy skin and lovely gravy...I barely had room to finish but did my best! My husband had duck (magret canard) which was tasty but a bit over cooked for his taste. Great service and overall nicely prepared food will bring us back!

My wife and I were recently in Paris and this was our favorite spot. We went there on the first day we arrived as it was close. We were not disappointed. My lamb shank and mashed potatoes were delicious. My wife had lamb later in our visit at a much more expensive restaurant and she thought my shank here was better. My wife had linguini and she still talks about it. But most importantly, the staff was great. We had a very nice waiter who can tell we were new to Paris and knew very little French. My wife and I returned another night for dessert and champagne. The creme brûlée was also great. This is a great place for a meal or just to sit out on the patio and people watch.

Stumbled into this place after a stroll through Notre Dame. The first authentic French cuisine we had after 4 days in Paris. The super was superb, the waiter was super nice and friendly. We practiced our horrible French and he practiced his English with us. I had the duck breast and potato and my husband had the risotto. Plenty of food so I suggest get a appetizer and an entree since the food was not cheap. Hopefully, we will be able to remember this place and come back again.

Had such amazing roasted duck here for dinner! I would also recommend the creme brûlée for dessert, extremely rich and sweet.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. No real plans. Just walking. Cigarette smoke in the air, scooters passing narrow streets, old stone buildings glowing under soft afternoon light. Online, this place feels impossible to book. But show up 10-15 minutes before opening and suddenly you're seated like you knew the secret all along. Inside, the room hums. Tight tables. Warm walls. Loud enough to feel alive without becoming chaotic. Nobody rushing. Nobody flipping tables. Just the rhythm of Paris doing what it's always done. The menu is entirely in French which, honestly, makes the experience better. You stop ordering with certainty and start ordering with curiosity. My wife had the risotto d'épeautre aux St. Jacques. I ordered the Magret de Canard au Romarin. The duck was solid. A 3.5/5 kind of dish. Rich, savory, comforting after a long day walking through the city. But the risotto surprised me more. The scallops were delicate, the spelt added this earthy texture that made the dish feel substantial without ever becoming heavy. And then there's the mousse au chocolat. The famous one. Served from an oversized bowl with this almost excessive "all you can eat" energy that somehow still feels elegant instead of gimmicky. We only needed a few bites. Soft, luxurious, lightly bitter chocolate balanced perfectly against just enough sweetness. The kind of dessert that doesn't ask for attention. It quietly earns it.
