I've never had someone use so much oil on just my back I told her I would go ahead and pay but I would not leave a tip yet she wanted me to leave the tip area blank so they could fill it in. I put a big 0 with a line thru it. Tips are based on services you receive not knowing what I was getting I was not leaving a tip ahead of time. She used hot towels & rocks on my shoulders. I just got a upper body massage since I had sore neck muscles It's definitely a different type of massage. She used her elbows to massage more than her hands I decided to leave a tip so I changed the 0 to was going to leave $10 tip she said no no no you have to leave $20 so she pushed me to leave $20 tip ontop of the $70 hour rate plus the fee to use credit card which there is no sign about a fee they charge for credit card

I feel like I owe it to my fellow massage lovers out there to share my experience. Long story short, my visit to Ya Ya Massage Spa was like a bad dream. My first impression of this place was the smell. I cant really describe with words, but it was disgusting. Next, was the room where my massage took place. It was eerie. It had a red glow from a light that had been sloppily painted red? Creepy. (See picture). I got undressed and soon realized there was nowhere to put my clothes because the hook on the door had someone else's shirt and some sort of negligee! Wtf! (See picture). I remember thinking to myself "what kind of place have I come to!" I thought about leaving then, and I should have. I'm too nice. After undressing, I realized there was nothing on the table to cover myself with and I wasn't given any instruction on what to use, so I found a towel in a basket and used that. The massage itself was mediocre and probably would have been considered fine if it weren't for the fact that the woman was playing an Asian pop song on her phone on REPEAT! I said something, but she just changed it to another pop song which then was on repeat. She also did a terrible job draping me--I felt completely exposed through the whole massage. The massage cost me $70 (I used a coupon on their website) and I still tipped because once again, I am too nice.

I called and asked if I could be in in two minutes cause I was right down the road and just needed a 30 minute neck and shoulder massage. The woman very politely said yes she was available, and literally within five minutes of the call! She was very strong intuitive and absolutely helped my body in a matter of 30 minutes! The Groupon was for a 90 minute hot stone massage. Most hot stone massages are out of my price range so this made it accessible for me. I made my appointment immediately online. I am used to massages as I get work done regularly due to injuries I have from a car accident but nothing like this type of massage. I have been through many massage therapists and usually am less than impressed. I have someone I see for my deep tissue/trigger point therapy and now I have Brandy for relaxation. The website luckily gave good directions to the place which is located behind another business in a shared medical office building in Sellwood. There is usually street parking nearby. The waiting area is downstairs and the massage room is up in a little well-decorated room. She even has complimentary bottles of water which is great after a massage. I was new to hot stone massage and wasn't sure what I was in for but just really wanted something relaxing and warm. That's exactly what I got. Brandy uses a combination of massage strokes and hot stones to relax your muscles and mind. I was glad I went for the 90 minute massage because I did not want it to end. Her pressure was not too firm but not too light, either. There were also hot towels involved in my massage and it was just amazingly relaxing. I never treat myself to anything like this but just got back from my second visit with her and had to write a review. She was a little late getting to my appointment (it happens and I totally understand- I was running a little late myself) and made it up to me with some bonus massage time since I was her last client of the day. Her regular rates even without the Groupon are worth it. I have seen other hot stone massages going for much higher prices but have not bothered going elsewhere. I can't review her other types of massage as both of my appointments with her were for hot stone specifically. On top of everything, she is super nice, and offers multiple ways to contact her to set or change appointments, including text message which I really appreciate. Next time you feel stressed or sore, go see her. You won't regret it.
