We got the combination massages for $50/hour, which included a head and shoulder massage, foot massage, and then a back/oil massage for about 30 minutes. Given the past reviews, I requested a female therapist and my partner had a male therapist. The massages were very firm and strong. They work hard here and got a good amount of knots out. I would describe the massage as a lot of pressure with a Swedish and acupressure style with some Thai massage-like stretches. I think there were instances of the deep tissue massage on my shoulders, but there could have been more deep tissue at other aspects of the massage, though don't be afraid to ask them to focus on certain spots. The place was cold with AC on, but the hot stones they put on your foot, back and neck throughout were warming. The place was separated into various rooms with curtains. To respond to other comments about tipping -- Because massage places like these are deeply discounted costing $40-70 instead of $80-110, I don't understand the issue with tipping $20 for a strong massage. My bf and I came here as of July 16, 2023 at 4pm. We called first to see how much a full body massage was and a man answer and told us it's $40. We were already there waiting in our car in the parking lot. After hearing $40 bucks for a full body massage we walked in. Went here by chance because my normal place didn't have any available spots. Umm how did I not know this place was here?! I was so impressed on how they got 3 people in, all together, on a Saturday. The place is pretty big with group 'rooms' divided it off from the main area but also have curtains in between each bed. I got a 60 min foot/back combo for $40 and they soak your feet, rub you face and head and then full body. It felt like I was getting physical therapy because it was such a deep message. It felt sooo good. But also like it actually was going to make my muscles feel better instead of just relaxing. Then, you guys. HOT. STONES. very very hot stones. They don't just set and leave them, they use them to give you a massage and it's such a nice ending after all the deep tissue. My favorite part was they put a wrap on your feet and put hot stones in your arch and leave them. It was very nice! Covid wise- they all had masks and kept everyone separate. Also, I wasn't pressured at all on a tip, they just asked me if I wanted to give one, and I typed in the amount. With that being said, it's important to know what you are getting into. You're going to get a thai massage, which in my experience is going to be a more physical, deeper massage. If you're looking for a relaxing experience or looking for more of a light pressure, this probably isn't your place. It's cheap, but the place is clean, the people are friendly, and you're isolated by curtains. I'd say at a place like Elements, you're buying a steak, and you can expect certain things that will come with the price tag. Here, you're buying a hot dog and that's the price you're paying. Quick warning: the term "Spa" might be a misnomer, or cause irritated confusion to some who are expecting high-hospitality, uniformedly-dressed customer service in an aesthetically pleasing, zen-like ambience. "Health Spa" at Fubonn is not the aforementioned, but that is not what I was looking for this time. I was in need for a strong (some might say aggressive) reflexology, tension-busting, no-nonsense massage. This was definitely it, and at an unbelievable, guilty price of $20! At first I thought it was only going to be a foot massage for an hour, but it was a complete reflexology massage from head to toe! You are greeted in a terse yet friendly manner (I'm presumptously assuming it's from the language barrier) at the front and then led to a large room that is separated by several bamboo room dividers. Each clean and basic individual space has a comfy massage bed with clean linens (I came with a friend and called ahead, so there were two beds in our massage space). Ours had the (dis?)advantage of a giant flat screen tv on one wall, filling the whole studio's ears with Chinese pop and easy-listening music videos. It wasn't blaring, but it's by no means a quiet chant of Tibetan monk music. You stay clothed, except for your shoes and socks. After pushing up your pants to your knees you are instructed to lay back while your feet are soaking in warm water in a lined wooden bucket. The amazing head massage begins and tension begins to melt away. The reflexologist expertly moves from head to toe, kneading out knots and pressing specific target points. He also uses other strokes, including relieving stretches, karate-chop-like rhythms, and squeezing muscles. After the firm foot massage, you are flipped over and the relaxing process is repeated. The best parts of the massage for me was the head/scalp massage, shoulders, and lower back. Throughout the massage process I kept falling asleep, and when it was over, I felt lighter! They accept credit cards and cash. There is a $1 extra charge if you use a card. I didn't experience any pushy pricing quotes as other reviewers. It's a new Chinese Reflexology Massage. I LOVE IT. Excellent price (currently $25/hr! unheard of! should be much higher). Excellent face/arm/foot/leg massage. It's in the top 3 of best chinese reflexology I've visited. For those who don't know, its relaxing and it helps with random things (like constipation). Now, for all you newbies, remember, everyone's pain tolerance is different, and if you have plantar facialis or other foot issues, then yes, it may hurt more. Compare your delicate, beautiful footsies to those tough old chinese men who also go there, and you can see why they use so many levels of pressure and the therapist cannot read your mind. So TELL them it hurts or say OUCH, so they can do something about it. (but whisper it please. Why are people so noisy there? blah blah.."who do i write the check to? how much?") My pet peeve are people who go to these places and RUIN the experience by whining after the treatment (as if they can do something at that point), or writing crappy reviews without communicating with their therapist. When we arrived, we were greeted by an employee that did not speak english. He quickly wrote down a phone number and pushed us out the door. Wow... I've never had a worse experience at a Chinese reflexology massage than this place. Dead serious. I came here with 2 other mates according to our scheduled appointment. After they had to figure out which person fit where and which of their workers were available, we started about 10 minutes later. I was put in the left area with one of my mates where there were 2 chairs sharing the space. The guy I had (short Chinese male wearing glasses) asked what ethnicity I was from the beginning and unfortunately I told him I was part Chinese by responding in poor Mandarin. He then followed with "Please teach me English." He seriously would not stop talking to his coworker and would always ask me questions in Mandarin. If I didn't respond (because I didn't want to), he would ask repeatedly and even pull out his phone to translate. I'd have to open my eyes and respond at that point, so I could never relax. While he was using one hand to massage me while I lay on my back, he even dropped the damn phone on my eyeball! I nearly jumped because it was quite unexpected, but it also hurt as well. Not only was the talking and constant interruption annoying, but he also half-assed it the whole time. I didn't feel like I had any work done on me, instead, it felt like I was just having lotion rubbed into my skin the whole time. I tried to prompt him a few times to put in more effort and not speak so much, but that never worked. At the end, it was $25 each. They then demanded a $15 tip. When did tips become mandatory and have a minimum of $15 at that??! They seemed pretty upset that we were about to give $10 as tip, but we felt like they didn't deserve more than that because my pals didn't have a great experience as well. This was the worst massage experience for both my boyfriend and I. We chose only the half hour one for $20, but they ended up charging us 25/each and $1 extra charge for w/e reason. I just got a massage here and I'm feeling kind of weird about it. The man massaging me went too close for comfort to my right nipple and then when massaging my left leg i felt like he went up a little higher than he needed to. Like I felt the top of his hand graze the left part of my vagina. I brushed it off as an accident but he didn't seem phased by it or apologized. Usually at these places I keep all of my clothes on but this time they asked me to disrobe completely. If I could give 0 stars I would. The massage itself was okay. I've been to tons of foot reflexology spas and the massage itself doesn't stand out from the others. The service here is what stands out the most and not in a good way. The whiteboard in the front shows $20/hr for a massage but they charged us $30pp for an hour massage. THEN, as I was filling out tip,10% of $61--the guy was straight up watching me and pointed to a number 20 that has been previously scribbled on a sheet of paper. The front "desk" was iffy -- but don't worry!!! They are legit and very welcoming. We were placed in the same little cubicle together and had privacy - which I appreciated. UH.... it was AWESOME!!!! Today I went back after several years and was shocked when the guy demanded a 50% tip afterwards. I think they should make it clear that there is a mandatory $10 tip on a $20 massage. I had asked them to focus more on the foot reflexology, but they do the exact same massage no matter what you ask. It is a practiced massage that I believe they all learn because they all do exactly the same massage. I loved the fact that I could soak my feet while getting a massage. I am pregnant so I noticed they were very gentle with me which is good but I can't wait to go back to get the real deal. I can't believe people complain about the $10 tip when they do a great job and it's only $20 regularly. Compared to other massage parlors you are only paying pennies. Suck it up pay the money or go on groupon and pay $60+ for a massage.
