Long story short I had the car towed to Kennett and Sons around 1 pm and I didn't expect to hear anything until tHe day after Christmas being that it was 1 pm on Xmas eve. At 230 I was told the car was ready. Couldn't believe it. The owner, Ricky, explained that the engine was basically flooded with fuel from the auto start not working. He said it took him 15 minutes to remove the plugs and remove excess fuel. When I asked what I owed him said, " Nothing". Merry Xmas to me I guess. Thanks again Ricky. I read the other review and agree the shop isn't much to look at but then again either Is the one I take my car to in New Jersey and I trust the mechanic there too.

The young man working was a bit standoffish at first, and took time to warm up. There wasn't really a sense of professionalism from the employees (young and old alike). Lots of swearing and inappropriate conversations happened both with and around me. Pros: After warming up a bit, the employees became very friendly and had a good sense of humor. They completed my car inspection very quickly and charged what I felt was a reasonable price. They offered good advice on car maintenance and weren't too pushy with up-selling. They wen tout of their way to help me with another car problem even though they wouldn't necessarily make money off of it. Overall: This wouldn't be my first choice as a recommendation, and I definitely felt uncomfortable just standing in the shop (wouldn't go anywhere NEAR the couches). However the friendly demeanor that slowly appeared throughout my time chatting with the workers changed my mind a bit. The second time I brought it back in not even 2 days having it back my steering rack and pinion was broken, I took it back to the shop so that they could fix that too, Unfortunately since all this basically happened all at once my finances were completely wrecked! but they were completely understanding about it and worked with me so it could play out best for us both and I can't be more greatful. I have a broken radio and sooner rather then later Im bringing it back to get it replaced!! Please consider these guys if your vehicle is having any trouble, They deserve the support!!

He didn't bleed the brakes even though he SAID he had. I can't stress this enough. I knew it as I was pulling out onto John Stark Hwy. when my foot went to the floor trying to stop for traffic. In between April 13 & June 22? It was raining. It snowed. He was sick. He got behind in his jobs. It rained again. He was behind again. He was starting today. It rained. He was gonna do it tomorrow for sure & thanks for being so understanding. He'd call as soon as it was done. After a week I called him. He said he was on it. He'd call in a few days when it was done. It rained. I left a message that if he can't do it please just call & let me know so I can move on. I called 2 days later & he said I was on his call list & he just can't do the job. April 13-June 22. I was kind. I never yelled. I was understanding. When I went to pick it up he said the brakes were indeed bled but no charge for my trouble & for being so patient. Gave me a safety inspection sticker. A SAFETY INSPECTION STICKER. No longer required in NH but I wanted to be sure I was good to go. Knowing FULL WELL he hadn't done my brakes & just let me drive away. EDIT TO SAY: Just went out to check things out (it was raining yesterday when I picked it up) and found the ORIGINAL LIST I had given Paul. bleed brakes (price given $127), safety check, fix gas gauge, new battery for engine to include new mount, de-winterize it ($127), blow out the vents (n/c), attach front plate (wasn't done when I got there but he had his guy do it) and NONE OF THIS WAS DONE. What WAS done was muddy footprints & dirt everywhere, seats taken apart & not put back together, and a drawer that doesn't close now. It was clean when I brought it in. Everything in place. And now.....? What a MESS!

But he never returned my calls and when I got him on the phone he was very noncommittal. After a month and another very wishy washy call, I just gave up. I wasted a lot of time. To his defense, he said he had two people quit on him. I just wish he didn't drag me along for a full month. I would not use him if you need your car in a reasonable timeframe.
