I have yet to try their hairstylist but I absolutely enjoy my nail service with Nancy. I've been coming to her for quite some years now and this salon is just overall friendly. I like to get sns manicure and a regular pedicure. Nancy does any amazing job with cleaning deep which I prefer with my toes. You'll receive trim, file, scrub, exfoliation, massage and color for pedi. For a manicure, I tend to get fun design and sometimes something more simple. A file and shaping is including along with a hand massage. Advice: Call to make an appointment to receive the service you want. SNS and pedi can take 1.5 to 2 hrs. Communicate is key. Know what you want and be clear what you want. Not everyone has your imagination. I can't wait for my next appointment and might as well give the hair stylist a shot too! read more

Today was my first time going to L'Image and I will definitely be back! The salon itself is extremely clean and roomy. They have both hair and nail services. Everyone I interacted with - from the receptionists, my nail technician, and the other nail technicians and hair stylists were all so friendly! Now - the nail experience! I got SNS dip powder manicure. T was my nail technician and she was the kindest person ever and was easy to talk to. She took her time to care for my nails and even then, the hour-long process flew by. I paid $55 for the manicure which included adding the nail extension, shaping, filing, and a hand massage. Since it has been a WHILE since I've gotten my nails done, T was so kind to explain her recommendations of a timeline of booking the next appointment. I'm so happy I found this salon! I don't know how I haven't written this review yet - I've been seeing Nancy for years. She did my nails for my wedding (I'm so mad I don't have a good pic of them - they were great!) and has done my SNS every three weeks and pedicure every six weeks since like 2017. Nancy is the BEST nail tech in the area (maybe the world?!) for SNS. She's careful but efficient so nails always look flawless and stay on super well. During quarantine, I managed to keep them on and perfect (albeit grown out) for six weeks before I bought some acetone to take them off myself. I have a ton of curly hair and she keeps it modern and healthy. I really appreciate that the hair washers give a great wash and get all of the color off my face too. (In a pinch when my travel schedule was tight I tried other places and it had been a disaster with color and cuts). And the prices are reasonable too. Salia does my brows with threading and she's very particular about them! There are options for manicure, pedicures, and facials too. I don't get my hair done professionally often and I've never "regular" hair stylist. However, I find myself coming back to L'image for several reasons (in fact, I just scheduled a hair color appointment for next week!). The staff here are an extreme pleasure to deal with. I find myself smiling and laughing throughout my entire time at the salon because of the pleasant interactions I have with all of the stylists there. I've gotten highlights/hair color done professionally at three other salons and have been disappointed after each one. No one quite does hair color as naturally and beautifully as Yen from L'image. I went to L'image for the first time ever as a walk-in on a Monday around 5:15. I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The stylist was very nice. She sat me down and discussed how I wanted my hair cut. Great shampoo - almost feel asleep. She really took her time cutting my hair. This was probably the longest haircut I've had in years, but she did an amazing job. I have very long, thick hair and have layers. It had been a while since my last trim, but she took the time to dig out my layers and make sure they were trimmed properly. $55 for a women's hair cut is a pretty good deal around these parts. I've finally found a salon and a stylist I love! This place is classy, but not quiet and awkward like some salons. Kurt is often at the front desk. He is very kind and always makes you feel welcome. The salon is clean and they have water and other drinks available. I absolutely LOVE Carol. I'm beauty-challenged, so her help with hair color, hair style, waxing, etc. has been great. She educates me without making me feel stupid. And she's the only one I trust to color my hair. I don't know how she did it, but she managed to find the perfect shade of red for me. I'm not sure how L'Image salon is shown as being "ultra high-end" or how it has only 3 stars. I've gone to many salons in my life and this salon has very moderate prices, especially for the Northern VA area, and I've loved every visit I've had. I began going to this salon since I live only 2 blocks away and, one day, wanted to get my hair trimmed quickly. The receptionist greeted me so kindly and referred me to a stylist named Carol. LOVE HER. I have very long, fine, straight hair. Before I see Carol, a shampoo tech washes my hair and gives me the most relaxing scalp massage I've ever had. The shampoo and conditioners used here smell fabulous. Carol cuts my hair into long layers, which gives it so much movement. She is my favorite because she listens to me: she doesn't cut off more than I ask her to, does it in no time (which I thought would be a bad thing, she really knows what she's doing!), blow-dries, then curls my hair before I leave. Most places charge me $75 since I have long hair. L'Image only charges me $65. I took my daughter to get her hair cut here too. Her hair is thicker than mine and has loose waves and curls. Let me start off by stating a couple of facts about me. I'm a dude. I do not have difficult hair to cut. I do not have a difficult hairstyle to manage. It's pretty much one of those bed head types where I put in a little paste/wax and mess it around for 5 seconds, and it's done. Maybe 10 seconds on a bad hair day. Easy. Most of my life, haircuts for me have involved going to the nearest chain-style salon that's closest to work, home, or wherever I tend to be when I decide my shaggy dooo needs cleaned up, so I can look somewhat respectable. Where I used to live, on the west coast, this was easy to find, there was nearly one on every corner. For some reason, when I moved out here, finding one of these places proved more difficult than I thought. Not sure why. It seems that maybe the traditional barber shop stylings are more popular? I dunno, but I'm warming up to them. I digress. So, as it was, I was coming home from work and stopped at the grocery store. In the parking lot was this place. L'image. "Oooooooo-la-la" I said to myself. Sounds fancy. But it looks like they cut hair, so I went in to see if I could get a trim. Nice enough looking place, and I ask the guy at the front counter if I could get a cut today. Granted, it was about 5:30pm or so and they closed in a few hours, I didn't expect much. He said they were booked today, but had a slot open at about the same time tomorrow. Fine, this didn't bother me a that much. Except for the fact that when I looked back into the large area where doooos are done and saw 1 customer and 1 hairstylist. They had what looked like over 10 stations. BOOKED. Obviously. The guy mentioned that he would set me up with "insert hair stylist name here", and that she was great at men's haircuts. I found this a slightly humorous considering that men typically have the easiest haircuts possible, and that anyone with somesort of basic certification from a hair academy should be "great" at men's haircuts. Let alone the particular stylist that I got, who had been cutting hair for 40 FREAKING YEARS. No joke. I come back the next day, right on time, and pretty much get right in. The only redeeming portion of my visit to this establishment comes here. There is a nice lady in the back who shampoos your hair before your stylist cuts it. Sounds a little pervey, but she had amazing fingers and nearly put me to sleep with that shampoo/scalp massage. That was the enough for the single star. I proceeded to the salon chair, sat down, and saw that my grandma was about to cut my hair. This was when I realized I had made a grave mistake and was about to get the worst haircut of my life. I was not wrong. She even failed miserably with the easiest task of cutting hair, using the electronic clippers, and left patches of unevenly cut hair. PATCHES. I felt this slightly when I was there, but was confirmed when I got home and really got a look at the edward scissorhands catastrophe that rested on my noggin. To make matters worse, I paid $35 for that nonsense. Next time a female screws me over that bad, I'd at least like to get a cocktail out of the deal. read more

After reading the yelp reviews, I got quite excited and scheduled an appointment but the whole experience was disappointing. Be careful of them selling their product at high price, you will find product half priced in other stores. I was asked to get hair washed before the hair color, then after some waiting, somebody came by and said it is not needed. Hair color session was more disappointing, after the coloring was done and washed, stylist kept on complimenting the color turned out really well. With my high hopes, I looked at the mirror, only a section of my hair was only colored and rest was as is. I thought she would acknowledge her mistake and explain what went wrong but instead she kept on telling me that's how it is. I am never going back. read more

The manager Kurt is extremely rude, breaks appointments, doesn't apologize, and then verbally attacks the customer who complains. (This is totally unacceptable behavior.) The prices are very high even if the service and courtesy were universally good which obviously they are not. I warn readers to be suspect of 'fake reviews' for L'Image as rude people in service industries are more often rude to everyone and some of the other reviews are written like press releases. read more

I've been going to L'Image for about 7 years now. I started going for a specific stylist whom I loved and adored. When she left I wasn't sure how I would survive or if I would stay. I'm not the easiest client. Sometimes I'm not sure what I really want and change terrifies me. I have been twice now to see Carol and she is FANTASTIC! I couldn't have asked for a better transition to someone new. She listens to what you want and also guides you in the right direction. I highly recommend her! I also adore the shampoo/support staff there, Sue & Olga. They always remember my name and do the best wash and head massages! The people working there are very nice. Kurt at the front desk is wonderful. Carol does give a good haircut. BUT, if you are looking for something outstanding, edgy, unique to you, or special, this is NOT the place. You get a standard haircut, for a reasonable price (compared to higher-end salons, which they aren't). They can do nails, color, and spa services, but every time I go in there, I am only one of two customers in there. I don't know how they stay in business. My hair was long... middle of my back, has been for years. I asked Jessica to keep it below my shoulders and that when she cuts it its gonna spring up, she said 'I know'... my beautiful long hair is no just barely to the nape of my neck!! how the eff does 'keep it below y shoulders' become the nape of my neck. L'Image has the potential to be a high end hair styling saloon, and has a few dedicated stylists. However, there customer service is horrible. After booking an appointment days in advance, I arrived to find that my appointment would not be honored. When I complained to the manager, Curt, he was extremely rude, and told me that no apology would be forthcoming. I have seen him be rude to several other customers, and he seems to act this way to discourage people he does not like from coming back and paying way too much for a haircut. If one wants to risk this behavior, in order to patronize a few good stylists that work there, proceed at your own risk. read more

Such a worst service . I've been there for mani, pedi and deep conditioning. They just applied conditioner and made me sit like an hour while one lady did my manicure with running nose, and the pedicure was ok. As I was in a hurry I couldn't get it done fully. And the deep conditioning part...which part in the world would call it deep conditioning ... ,She charged me 55$ for which they did nothing,on top of it they made faces as they were late. I made an appointment at 6,and they were in some hurry to close the salon.They shouldn't have taken the appointment if they felt so. I'm never going there and the lady owner there seems very rude. I took my daughter there to get a formal "updo" for the prom. Her appointment was at 2:30 and we needed to leave by 3:30. When I made the appointment, I was told the price would be $75 because updos take about an hour. The previous customer overran her appointment by 30 minutes, and she even had 2 stylists working on her more complicated updo for the prom. We met the hair stylist at 3:00, and I told her that we needed to leave at 3:30, so she did a simple updo in 30 minutes that looked nice. When I went to pay, the lady at the reception desk charged $75. When I asked for a discount since the appointment was cut short, she said that all updos were $75 no matter how long they take to do. My daughter's hairstyle was definitely not worth $75, and I won't go there again. read more

I tried this place for the first time right before a holiday party. Bad Idea! Along with a hair cut, I also went there to get my eyebrows waxed. The stylist first washed my hair, cut it and then waxed my "hair" ! She paid little to no attention while waxing my eyebrows and put a good amount of wax on my hair and then she made no efforts to pull the wax out of my hair. After I told her several times on how sticky it felt, she realized it wasn't going to come out. She washed my hair but that doesn't take the wax out! So, she put some sort of chemicals in my hair and that resulted in super dry and dull hair from the front section where the wax got stuck. I am NEVER going back to this salon again even though the people at the salon seemed very nice. But hey, maybe they will do a better job with your hair. Just don't get both waxing and hair done at the same time! And even if you have to, insist on putting a shower cap first. read more
