Never had a problem with this Salon until recently. Stay away from MINDY, nail tech. She told me one amount for a manicure then charged my cc a higher amount. Once I confronted her she said she would refund the difference to me person. I went in to the salon to see MINDY in person and she was combative and did NOT refund the money she said she would. She only refunded my tip (as she should). I will now dispute this with my cc and let them handle it. I am disappointed in Diane T Salon as they would have a "subcontractor" who would cheat their customers. read more

Make an appointment. I see Hasha and she is amazing. She has so many up to date designs to chose from and is so patient. I also love the fact that she owns her craft! She is so talented. I only come here to see Hasha. There are 2 other nail techs here. Can't speak on the rest of the salon.. the workers in the salon side don't speak or greet me ever. Visited Diane T Salon for the first time today. I followed Hasha here when she moved from a nearby nail salon. Hasha has been doing my nails for years and I have never had better results from anyone else. She is absolutely meticulous and dedicated to her craft. She always keeps up with the trends in nails and has several nice new amenities at this new salon -- for example, she now has a dust collection system so that no one has to breathe in nail dust. Today she showed me some acrylics she'd made as examples that change color depending on the temperature. On this trip, she did dip powder nails over tips for me. I have never tried these before, but they look really lovely. Usually she does gels and no one else has ever done gels for me that last as long as Hasha's. My last set lasted 18 days, and I am pretty hard on my nails. Diane T Salon is beautiful inside and I definitely am looking forward to going back in a couple of weeks! Hasha makes every manicure and pedicure a great experience. I would recommend her work to anyone. read more

If you have slightly textured hair, this place is not for you! I left the place with my hair already not smoothed out properly, I had few strands of hair that wasn't touched at all, and didn't look like the rest of the style. And within an hr, my hair looked like a big mess, like a blow dryer never touched it. I do my own hair every week and it'd look 10x better, I just thought I'd pamper myself today. I'm pretty sure I found my new nail spot. After getting over the fact that I won't be able to find a dip powder manicure in this area as cheap as New York, I decided to give this place a try. They didn't disappoint! I got Sara as my nail technician and she was amazing! She's super friendly and very meticulous. Definitely one of the best dip powder manicures I've ever had, if not the best. Love the atmosphere as well, it's super clean and just very relaxing overall. Although, I did walk in, they prefer appointments because the shop is kind of small and they get fairly busy. My mother and husband now to go her, and some of my colleagues have started going on my recommendation. She is truly amazing! I've started getting highlights (thanks to my newly sprouting greys) and they always look amazing and last forever. It's located in a tiny strip shopping center next to an ABC liquor store and can easily be missed from busy Maple Ave, though the big Diane T sign out front helps somewhat. Its owner and main stylist, Diane, used to work at a French hair salon and her skills and experience show. Prices aren't exactly rock-bottom (don't expect to pay Hair Cuttery prices here) but neither are they over the top (for example, $45 for a haircut, shampoo, and blow-dry). Up-do's are Diane's specialty if you want one for proms or special occasions. Make-up, manicures, and pedicures are also offered. Appointments can be hard to come by on weekends, so do call ahead. read more

Diane has skills but she cut too much layers towards the bottom of my hair which makes me look older, even though I have emphasized that I don't want layers and I only want textures. I'm not so happy with my hair. :( read more

My nail tech was excellent. The price was very reasonable. The salon, though, is very noisy, with loud commercial radio advertisements playing, and two of the stylists and the front desk person having a loud, lengthy discussion across the salon. While I was in the chair, a stylist sat in the salon chair next to me, removed her shoes, and trimmed and filed her own toenails. The tv was tuned to TruTV, to the Rachel Dratsch show, and the subtitles contained a skit with the word "asshole" on the screen repeatedly, as well as a skit with two blurred, naked people having sex and discussing condom use. I realize the show is a comedy but please--to broadcast this in a salon where clients come to restore and treat ourselves? My nails look great but it was the opposite of a relaxing, professional experience. 3 Stars for the quality of my nail tech. read more

I've been following Diane for almost 30 years now. Diane knows exactly what style would look good with my facial feature and hair texture. Ok, I don't care how good you think you are, but there is no way you can do a good job in 15 minutes for shampoo, conditioner, cut and blow dry. Every time I am back in NoVA, I always go to Diane T's if I need a haircut. However, she's thoroughly disappointed me this time around.
