This review isn't so much about the store itself (though I've been a fan of L.L. Bean since I was gifted a monogrammed backpack in the last 1900s) it's more about the boot sculpture that sits directly outside of the store. I really love this boot, it's the perfect boot and perfect sculpture of a boot. So definitely go visit the boot sculpture and then go in the actual store and buy yourself a monogrammed backpack it will last you 20 years if not longer. read more

Your basic retail LL Bean store, pretty solid inventory with lots of sizes/styles/colors. I would caution ay shopper going here during sales to carefully read their receipts, I recently shopped here and there was a "extra 20%" sale going on all items including previously marked down and at check out did not recieve the full discount. I'm sure it was a error on the part of the busy staff, but its worth noting for folks to carefully review their purchases and not take it for granted that it will be correctly run up. read more

I went into the store today to try on a Wildcat jacket. I was greeted by a young woman and I politely asked only three questions since she was busy helping two other customers. I I simply took the jacket to the register to see if it were available in another store. The young woman got very sharp. with me and started to raise her a voice. She said "didn't I answer all ur questions" and repeated it In a harsh way. I politely said u were with another customer. I I told her I was an attorney and was not complaining at all. She once again in a loud voice saying" Were done" I called corporate and spoke to their employees relation dept and filed a complaint! No person should be be humiliated like that. Great LL Bean store in Cranston. Very nice and tidy. Lots of unique merchandise. Plenty of employees to help you. Not the largest bean store like their flagship store in Maine, but very good size. They had some sale merchandise and lots of boots for adults and kids. Plenty of camping gear. The store was so well organized and everything was in its place . Drove 30 minutes to try in boots because sizing is always different. Selection may be great, but their staff blatantly ignored me and when I finally asked for help they got me two "maybe" sizes and walked away. I was trying on $150 boots I planned to buy, but hey, guess my business isn't wanted. 6 kinds of rain boots alone, but their staff left after getting me one pair, that didn't even fit. Went to return a nice sweater my girlfriend bought me for Christmas (purchased less than 5 months ago) thing is coming apart in like 3 spots. I bring it in and whoever is working the counter confirms she bought it when she did, then tells me it "looks like something pulled it" even though it's in like 3 spots. She says material defects are covered, not accidental damage. She must be psychic cus I told her I don't remember anything to it, it's just coming undone. I guess the return policy is whatever happened to the clothing (according to the front desk's forensic clothing expertise) isn't replaceable. read more

I stopped in here a few days ago and had a fine experience. This is the first time I have shopped for clothes in person since March and I didn't know what to expect. Fortunately everyone was wearing a mask and when someone came in without one he was asked to put one on. There were appropriate COVID precautions in place. They didn't have what I was looking for in stock, but the salesperson on the floor let me know this politely. I asked her about the location and sizing of an item as well as the protocol for trying things on. Fwiw they let you try things on but quarantine the item for 24 hours afterwards. I ended up with two cotton tops for video calls and a list of things to keep an eye out for online if a sale comes up. I can't say this is the best LL Bean store I've ever been to but it was worth stopping by briefly. This is a hard time to work retail and I really appreciated that the staff, including the cashier, were very nice. read more

I have been a faithful consumer of LL Bean for years , to my delight they decided to open a retail location in Cranston Rhode Island. I purchased items before and returned defective items before, with no issue! I recently had a issue with a wallet I purchased about 18 months ago where the seems started to tear.... I came in and spoke to a CSR Mary and she gave me such a hard time about returning it stating I put too many Credit Cards in the wallet and therefor the warranty is not applicable!!! Finally after about 30 min back and forth she finally ordered the wallet which I paid for again and stated to come back when I receive the wallet .... By chance I received a call from LL Bean customer service the same day and explained how displeased I was about the entire situation and they apologized and explained that is not there policy that L.L. Bean will stand behind there products 110 %! Here I am today and I brought the wallet into the store and AGAIN same issue with the wallet, I believe the CSR name was Mary , I did not feel like getting into the entire thing again I asked her for her manager Erin , she came over while Mary started to explain, then I jumped in and Erin replied " Enough I remeber you from the other day and I know the issue" very rudely!!! Erin did process the refund to my CC and I did ask for the District Managers Name which she refused!!! Word of advise to L.L. Bean Managment , if you are a " premium retailer , you should explain to your associated the customer interaction should also be premium ! read more

We ordered online and it was delivered free because I have the credit card. The delivery used to be one or two days. This was years ago and I was always amazed at how quickly it would come. Now it takes just a few days and I love that we have a store in Cranston because I had to return some thing. They make it very easy to return and I think it's a great store to shop at. Terrible customer service. Bought a shirt that can completely fell apart with first wash. Stitching unraveled. Of coarse I did have the receipt because didn't plan on returning it. When the sales clerk looked up my name she told me "no evidence you purchased this shirt" very snarky and matter affect. Like i was a criminal and then stated "I don't know if you just bought this from a garage sale". I tried to explain I bought it with a gift card. We did find my order history under my husbands name but WOW L.L. Bean not only your quality has depleted but so has your customer service!!!!! This is a very nicely designed store. Of course a little pricey. The quality is typical LL Bean. My husband likes this store . It's not really my style. I'm not a outside kinda girl. So went here shopping for some boots. This place is like most stores oversized with lots of variety. The staff member Sean was helpful in trying to find me shoes in my size. He brought me every single style The had in my size, or the closest to my size. Was very disappointed when they had nothing in my size! Tried a size up and a size down because Sean got me them. But didn't leave with anything. He did remind me that I could order online and return in store if it didn't fit. Which was a great reminder! read more

Very clean, great products and some sales. I found the pricing to be quite high (and do realize that the quality is very good). Sales did not really seem very great and markdowns were minimal. Although I was in the store on a Sunday evening with only a few other customers, it was not easy to get assistance from a store associate. Great products, and will be back. Horrible horrible horrible customer service. I'm not sure how they have the manager Erin working there honestly. I went in today to do an even exchange with a coat I had purchased within the last year because it had a small tear. I talked to a sales rep and she said it was absolutely fine but I'd have to pay the difference because they couldn't apply the same sale. She told me I could apply for a credit card to get 25% off. I walked away for a moment to talk with my husband first. I came back through the line deciding to open the credit card and go through with the exchange. I got a different employee this time (spoiler alert: it was the manager Erin) who gave me the worst customer service I've ever received in my life. She got extremely rude to me and said I couldn't do the exchange because it's not within the policy. Now at this point it's not about the exchange, it's about needing to follow through on what you say. I've worked in customer service for ten years and we would *never* go back on what an employee said even if it was wrong. We called customer service who told us to go back in and speak to manager. This is when Erin had her shining moment to be able to throw it in our face that she is the manager and still wouldn't do the return. As we all know this is the highlight of every rude manager's day. Meanwhile I'm like decked out head to toe in ll bean apparel. I've NEVER returned something there before. And I'm not a psycho customer. Just a normal person being treated like trash. As a long time (as in 40 plus years) customer of all LLBean products, I will stand by their product until the end. I have never had a bad thing to say about the products or customer service. Today, I decided to head to the Cranston RI location to make an even exchange. As I entered the store (which is set up totally different with the registers in the very back of store) I couldn't find any associates greeting me. As I reached the back of the store, the associates were all standing around just chatting, not even noticing I was there. The associate that pointed me in the direction of where to find my replacement item was just okay, although it was the second associate I encountered that made me regret my decision to even go into to that location. As I asked her about my item I was exchanging, she was beyond rude (typical of garden city snobs), not answering my question, and almost looking down on me. In no way am I saying That I will not shop at LLBean after years of supporting the company, but if you do not want to be snubbed by some too good to do their job associate, skip your trip to Cranston, and head over to the Mansfield store. read more
