I've been to this outpost in Providence several times while visiting my son in college nearby. The staff all seems great, but there is a limited selection on the floor, especially in men's clothing which can be really frustrating. This problem is consistent every time I stop in. read more

Thayer Street has changed drastically over the past decade, many stores have closed or been pushed to the West Side but somehow Urban Outfitters has remained. The store is literally frozen in time, I don't think it's ever been remodeled. it's still the mid 2000s in that store the only difference now is that 1/2 of the employees were probably also born in mid 2000s. Everything is still incredibly overpriced and all of the employees still seem just as aloof as they did 15 years ago. I got my nostalgia fix so I'll visit again in 2036. read more

Meh, it's not the greatest UO out there. It is however, within walking distance from where we live. Some of their items are great. However, I've found many of their items much cheaper on Amazon. The store is clean and if you find something on clearance, you'll get yourself a great deal. The staff here basically works at their own pace. Some at times have been bothered that you have a question and huff because they may have been talking to a co-worker of a friend. The store is in a good location, and when I'm grabbing something to eat on Thayer I just stop by to see if they have something unique for around the house. read more

I mean, it's an Urban Outfitters. I like the store's layout and the sale section was plentiful. Like everything UO, prices are high for what you get, except for truly branded items (e.g., Levi's), where the prices are on par with everywhere else. I found the service to be pretty aloof, but I will say the fitting room attendant was patient with me and the person at the register made sure I saved $$$ by getting my points. I would stop in again when I'm in the area, but it didn't wow me (not that it has to, it's Urban Outfitters). I much prefer the Boston locations. read more

I am happy Urban Outfitters doesn't charge sales tax. The staff is friendly and efficient. Usually, this particular store (including the sales section) is well organized. Now on to the negatives: -Everything here is overpriced -The LUX line falls apart after a few washes. If it doesn't fall apart it at least turns see through. This occurs with other brands sold here as well. 3 stars for 3 positives, and 2 for 2 negatives. read more

Disappointed by the lack of sizes in stock but was pleasantly surprised by the customer service I received. I came into this store looking for a gift for a friend and was immediately greeted by a sales associated named Emily when I walked in. She asked if I needed any assistance, which is when I inquired about a specific skirt my friend has been hinting heavily about. Emily took the time to help me look for the item, as well as checking in the back, all while taking the time to be friendly and ask me about my day. You unfortunately did not have the size in stock, but Emily showed me to join the waitlist online for when it is available again. I am not a frequent Urban Outfitters shopper, but after all the help I received I may be returning. Most stores have really gone downhill since COVID in terms of customer service, but the employee I interacted with last week did not disappoint. I wanted to like this particular Urban Outfitters (UO). I lived down the street from this UO for an entire summer. Every week, I would frequent this UO and every week, I would be disappointed about not buying anything. The sales selection isn't as plentiful compared to other UO. I understand that their square footage isn't that big, but even so, not many items go on sale. Furthermore, this branch doesn't have too many promotions of additional 50% off sale items. The staff is nice, but I'm more interested in the sales merchandise, or in this case...the lack of sales merchandise. I hope to visit again and update a review for this particular UO. read more

I like this Urban Outfitters, for the most part. I can find on-trend pieces relatively inexpensively when they're on sale, and the store itself is fun. However... when the hoards descend, it becomes a mess dumb quick and I hightail it outta there as fast as I can haul ass. I guess that's what you should expect to get on Thayer Street. Note that the term 'relatively inexpensive' applies to the sale items. Don't get me wrong, I'm more than willing to shell out the cash for a well-made piece of clothing, but a lot of the items found at Urban Outfitters are mass-produced and cheaply made... So why so expensive? It doesn't work for me. I have to say, I do like the staff here. They're friendly and happy and sweet, which makes for a pleasant shopping experience. It's not cuz I'm a 35 year old man that I don't like this Urban Outfitters. It's because it's the most mediocre UO that I've been too. I've tried to find something for myself in here but just can't help to pull the trigger. Most of their shirts were just too generic or obnoxious. Everything is just too trendy and/or ill fitting (tight) for me. On a recent trip with my wife & 15 year old daughter we had no problem dropping over $300 on items. They found some stuff but none of us were expecting the total amount to be that high. I'm sure we could've found it for cheaper elsewhere but learned our lesson to steer clear of UO in the future. I do like Urban Outfitters but this one just seems too cramped & dull. The staff is somewhat helpful but it just doesn't do it for me. read more

Urban Outfitters is okay. If I can't find something I NEED vintage or at some kind of independent boutique, I'll get it here. (They also have some things that are just cheaper and decent here- laptop cases, basic heels, cheapish stone jewelry, emergency doodads, etc.) That being said, I hate buying clothing here. It will fall apart. It will cost you astronomical, insane amounts of money. But if you can't find it elsewhere, well, that's your problem and you must get it here. The staff at this particular location seem to be the same ones all the time, I'm talking a few years. This leads me to believe that they are happy and it might be a decent job, so good for them. This Urban Outfitters is the only one nearby and that makes it awesome! They don't always have the most popular sizes in stock, but they do have a nice selection of merch. They carry PF candles, which are hard to find on the east coast. Teakwood and Tobacco is my favorite scent, and there seems to be an endless supply. Don't forget to use the UO app to get points for your purchase. You get a $5 coupon when you reach 100%. They also accept Apple Pay and the staff is always chill and helpful. They play some nice tunes as well. read more

Ok so I've bought a few things here over the past 1-2 years which warrants a retroactive star or two for the place. it's providence after all though it's not particularly great value. Was in the other day and got so bored. looked at a few graphic tees but didn't like anything. a couple days later i saw some dude wearing one of the t-shirts i looked at (and thankfully didn't buy) and it just sapped all interest to ever set foot in an UO again. sorry - that's not the store's fault for being trendy but I couldn't help displace my dislike for that dude onto this store. You know something... I really do like Urban Outfitters. Do I think they're extremely overpriced for mediocre merchandise? Absolutely. That having been said, I will hit up the clearance racks upstairs and will sometimes find something worth my while. I'm not a hipster, so most of the clothing and shoes don't necessarily appeal to me, but I do enjoy some of the basics they offer. I love the men's t-shirt selection and the home goods section is pretty awesome too, although I've noticed that department has been dwindling over the years. The store seems to usually always be well organized and clean. The cliental are mostly Brown/RISD students and I'm sure most of the staff are students as well looking to make some extra cash. Over the years, mostly everyone I've ever dealt with there have been nice, not overly friendly, typical young hipsters or hipsters in training. read more

I occasionally make a purchase at UO but only if it's on sale or clearance because for me I can't justify spending uber amounts of money on trendy clothes. Love their clothing - but mostly because it's fun and appealing to look at in store, on their website, and on their fabulous models. For me, this just isn't my place to splurge. Recently I got back into shopping at UO as I noticed their selections offered better quality in the fabrics than previously offered and the prices reflected so. However, they have some mean sales. Throughout my 4+ shopping experiences there since Christmas not only was I treated with patience and friendliness (which I feel UO has lacked in the past up until now), they are also so helpful and go ABOVE and BEYOND to help me! I was torn between giving this particular Urban 3 or 4 stars. I think it deserves 3 for the selection, even though it's a two story store. They never have a decent selection of shoes (aside from ballet flats) and pretty much no home items. However! I do have to give them 4 stars because the staff is just wonderful. I do most of my Urban shopping online, but because their brands are each sized so differently (and, unfortunately, many things just don't look right on my body type), I end up returning or exchanging a lot of things to this store. They are always so nice and helpful. If I want to exchange an item for a different size and they don't have it (often the case since, as I said, selection isn't great) they call another store and have it mailed to my house, without charging for shipping! This is my favorite thing about shopping here, it's amazing how few stores will do this for you. read more

Super fun store. Lots of unique gifts, trinkets and cool clothing/accessory items. The staff however really make this place a fun place to shop. Very nice and helpful people that work at this location. I usually find myself here for a "hard to get" birthday or holiday gift and I am never disappointed. I've very much enjoyed my plethora of trips to urban outfitters. I enjoy how they sell new "in style" types of clothing. I also love how the closest one to me is write near brown university so there are many other stores to shop at close by, and i love large crowds. I actually got a large box of hair chalk that i've had for a year, used very often, and i still have much more to use for my hair. I like the hipster feel of there clothes and the building. Even though i love the preppy perfect look as well, i dont always want that kind of style and enjoy comfy but trendy clothing. read more
