This is a shop dedicated to the Washington artisans making awesome, unique goods. This place is…read moregreat for gifts and souvenirs (and much more reasonably priced than the airport kiosks who jack up the price since they know you're a captive audience) from art to food to blankets and tchotchkes. They had samples of tea and coffee to try before committing to an entire bag which is pretty considerate. One of the workers was very helpful in explaining their coffee selection and how it was roasted. Yes, some items still have a mark up, but you're paying for the convenience of all the stuff being in one place. They can't exactly draw you in with a loss leader. I bought some Fran's Gray and Smoked Salt Caramels and I've been slowly enjoying them since!

MADE IN WASHINGTON @ BELLEVUE…read more Made in Washington is located inside Bellevue Square, and mall parking is free in any of the garages. I'd recommend parking under Macy's or H&M. There's usually plenty of parking, but on weekends it can get very busy, so you may have to circle a bit. This was my first time visiting Made in Washington, and it's a great stop if it's your first time in Seattle and you want to check out locally made products. As soon as you walk in, there's a lot of chocolate, along with kitchen décor, lotions, and soaps. Some items are on the pricier side, but there are also more affordable options. My mom and I found a lotion for about $14 that smelled amazing. They also offer plenty of samples, which I really liked. Overall, the value is pretty decent, you'll find some things you love and some you may pass on. The only downside was the customer service. No one greeted or acknowledged us, and it felt like most of the staff stayed behind the register. Despite that, I still had a great experience and would recommend stopping by if you're looking for gifts or products that are made in Washington.

With a plethora of mirrors it was easy to see how everything glittered and sparkled under the lights. The store associates were very nice and helpful. They encouraged me to try on anything I looked at. They attempted the most gentle upsell ever but due to it being both out of my price point and not at all what I wanted it was easy to say no. My only pause is the value these days. While much of their price point hasn't shifted in the last decade, it appears the quality of materials has gone downhill. I own a necklace that I purchased well over ten years ago that feels substantial. The large clasp is easy to open, and each crystal is thoroughly protected within solid settings. The pieces I bought this year are frail items that I fear I will break. The pieces are open in the back of the crystal and only a little glue holds them in place. Within three months several crystals fell out. One of the rings I purchased also turned my finger black during the summer. While easy to clean it left me baffled as to why that occurred and continue to occur. I eventually stopped wearing that ring on hot days. I can't confidently say the price is worth it, even for costume jewelry. There needs to be a higher quality for that price point.

Cause that's not the case here...but that also means that the commission-based salespeople can really shine when providing such a personalized one on one experience. My mother-in-law visited to get her first Hermes silk scarf, and from initial greeting to final send-off, she was treated very well. And in this case, that's all that really mattered. Daniel was the salesperson for our party of four, and walked my mil through the various steps: of first choosing the pattern, then suggesting/illustrating the various ways to wear the scarf. I could see her gaining in confidence as she determined what she did or didn't like, and that only came about because Daniel provided such personalized and unhurried time for her. The sale included the finishing touches, including gift wrapping. While he was doing this, I chatted with him about the history of Hermes and their various product lines. It's fascinating, and got to learn a bit more about their silk scarfs, its seasonality, and why folks love it so. As for the store, it's a very large two-story space, located in the Shops of the Bravern. The store itself doesn't have an elevator, requiring one to use the outside elevators and then be let into the locked first floor entryway. With this much space, each display seemed like its own world, and even though it was not uncrowded. There was even a small luxury watch section where I learned a little bit about their products, directly from Daniel as well. It was a nice visit.

My only regret from this workshop is that I didn't take it SOONER! I work in Corporate Finance for a Fortune 100 company. My goal is to stay on the "fast track" and work my way into a C-suite position. Kim's workshop is designed for individuals who are serious about moving to the next level in life. She provided excellent pre-work/homework to get us to narrow down the qualities we want to most portray, such as "leadership, compassion, influence, or vibrancy/energy" to name a few. Then, we spent the workshop talking in-depth about these qualities and how to incorporate them into a "physical appearance" or personal style. Kim's workshop was top-notch and excellent. If you're looking to the "push limits" of your style and brand and/or be fully who you were designed to be, I'd highly recommend working with Kim Peterson. She's knowledgeable, passionate, and a true "champion" of people. I won't ever regret this investment.
