I was excited to have found a new salon. Unfortunately, my second visit was a completely different experience. I had a fill-in with nail art, a pedicure with paraffin wax, and an eyebrow wax. My total was $212 before tip. About three days later, I noticed the cuticle area of one fingernail turning dark. By day five, the artificial nail came off, and by day seven I had to see my primary care physician. He diagnosed me with Green Nail Syndrome, a bacterial nail infection. I've now been treated with prescription antibiotic drops for nearly two weeks, have lost the nail, and have had to make multiple doctor visits. I still can't have my nails done while it heals. What disappointed me most wasn't just the nail problem--it was how the salon handled it. When I returned to explain what my doctor had diagnosed, I felt dismissed. Rather than trying to understand my concerns, I was told my nail looked dirty. I washed my hands right there in the salon and was even handed a scrub brush. It was embarrassing and made me feel like my concerns weren't being taken seriously. The salon did not offer a refund for the fill-in service. Instead, they offered me a $70 credit toward another visit, but after this experience I have no intention of returning. I understand that complications can happen in any salon. What matters to me is how a business responds when a customer has a legitimate concern. Unfortunately, I left feeling unheard, embarrassed, and out over $200, plus the cost of doctor's visits and prescriptions. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend EM Nail Lounge. I will be returning to Reflections on Maybank Highway for my future nail services.

She checked in with me, asking my preferences and then set about to relieve my knotted neck and shoulders, soothe my back and warm me with her hands and then the hot stones. What kicked it into 7th heaven was the warm booties on my feet after the hot stones. I have chronically cold feet so this was a real treat. RUN, don't walk to Signori Mani for a fabulous massage. PS My partner's perm was beautiful thanks to the other Emily!
