My favorite lasagna and the spinach maltagliati with braciole

Alright so here's the deal. If I lived in Paris, there is absolutely no way I would write a review for this place. In fact, maybe I would write a negative review about this place just to keep it secret. But since I don't come to Paris very often, I don't mind spilling my guts: This is the best Italian you can find in Paris. Every day, the crew at L'Osteria dell'Anima cuts their own pasta. It is literally fresh every day, and you can taste it in every dish. When I arrived here the first time, I thought they actually cut the pasta as you ordered it but it wasn't the case. Didn't matter. I can name maybe my three favorite Italian places in the world, but the lasagna at any of them is at least on par to the one here -- this one might be the best ever. Thin layers of the most tender pasta with beef, pork and veal married with cheese and bechamel ... my goodness it's amazing. We also had the maltagliati with spinach and braciole. Incredible, tender pasta with a rich, creamy sauce. It was exquisite. The food was so good, we came back days later and tried their ravioli special -- smoked bufala mozzarella tucked inside delicious pasta pockets and served with sausage in a tomato sauce. All authentic, all made from scratch and all delicious. We had the tiramisu on our final visit and it was also very rich and tasty. Very moist. One of the best tiramisus we've ever had. The place is affordable and incredibly delicious, but you've got to have a reservation because they have just eight tables. It's a gem of a place and a hole in the wall. We saw several couples get turned away without reservations. And don't worry, if you only speak English they will help you with your order. They even have paper towels in the bathroom, which is rare for Paris restaurants! If you're planning to go to Paris and want an authentic Italian meal with scratch ingredients, call them up and make a reservation. You will be so glad you did. Bon appétit.

Friendly staff spoke English and were very helpful in explaining the menu. I had the spinach cream pasta, something I hadn't encountered at other Italian restaurants. The pasta was superb, the creamed spinach sauce was delicious and it was a wonderful meal for under 20E. The restaurant itself is quite small, indeed the entryway is easy to miss. If you're in the area, I wouldn't miss it. Simply wonderful!

Super fresh, I mean they literally make the pasta in front of you. Inexpensive and delicious with a friendly staff. Restaurant is really tiny, fyi, probably not the best for large groups

Open kitchen concept where you can see the chefs happily cooking or cooking all stressed out lol. Our server was Izaya very friendly, well spoken and caring. He ensured our allergies were taken care of. He was fast with his service and continuously checked up on us to ensure we had everything we needed. Now food, mama Margherita pizza was freshly made so you have to really wait it out before taking a bite to ensure you don't burn your mouth. Pizza was evenly baked and crust was even yummy. Mozzarella cheese bites were the winner of the evening. So good the crumbs that covered the cheese were just wow. So tasty we ordered 3 servings of it. We ordered a small salad which was a generous portion for all of us. Good variety of wine list and very reasonably priced. Tiramisu was one of the dessert options and every bite met all our expectations. Overall great experience here they do squeeze a lot of people in there so you could be elbowing your neighbor on another table.

Both were a bit bland and could've used more seasonings. The drinks were delicious and tiramisu was the star of the show for sure! The story goes that I and the rest of my Nintendo of America colleagues had just finished up a very exciting business conference with our friends over at Nintendo of Europe. After wrap up, we decided to take a small tour around the lovely city of Paris. I, of course, took note of all of the similarities between the real Paris and the version seen in the Mario Kart Tour mobile game. I have to say, Nintendo hits it out of the park once again. We then decided to stop inside the Gemini, since that seemed to be the only restaurant name that I could pronounce. I decided to order the Truffle Pizza, and since I am from New York, I love a good pizza. The first bite and it was already heaven on earth! Truly authentic French food being served at this wonderful establishment. I am also very glad that the waiters entertained my shenanigans when asking them what they thought about Mother 3. I had a good laugh after they didn't even know what I was talking about. Excellent service, great food, and an overall fantstic time for any Nintendo fan wanting to stop in and admire the beautiful jungles of France. Also, don't forget to check out Pikmin 4, which lands in stores July 21st. Thank you for reading this highly anticipated Reggie Review, and I will see you all another time, Switch fans!

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not five minutes is a long time away, but it was still worth the weight as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street.
