In summary, the service and atmosphere is nice, but the food is somewhat mixed. The waiters that served us were very friendly and attentive. They made sure to make us feel at home, and were quick to bring us whatever we needed from them. My friends and I were seated in the back patio area, which was clean and tastefully designed. The waitstaff were able to speak and understand English, which made the whole experience more convenient and stress-free for us Spanish-challenged folk. This place is perhaps one of the best dining experiences I've had in Mexico from a service standpoint. On certain nights, there is live music in the back.
The menu we had was somewhat limited, with only 8 food options in total. We tried the chef salad, which was a simple mix of greens, roasted veggies, cheese and peanuts. The vinaigrette sauce was very sweet and was a little over-empowering. Sweetness seems to be a recurring issue with the food, as my friend ordered a 4 cheeses ravioli dish with a mango-chipotle sauce which was similarly sweet and not very spicy. We ordered mojitos that were also very sweet for what they were (we confused it for limeade at first), but depending on your preference, this may be a good rather than bad thing.
My other friends ordered the potato, gorgonzola and truffle ravioli. Although it was good, the gorgonzola and truffle sauce was a little weak, as very little gorgonzola or truffle flavor came through in the sauce.
The good thing about the food is that it was light. While other 4 cheeses ravioli I've had have generally been on the heavy side, this one was pretty light, with the cheese filling being creamy and mild in flavor. I ordered a Strozzapreti Bolognese, and thought I found the sauce to be simple and mild, it was satisfying as a meat sauce pasta. Stronger flavors would help improve the overall experience, but I wasn't necessarily disappointed by the dish.
Also, there was free bread with black olive tapenade, which was popular among my friends. Definitely a plus here. read more
