This restaurant is no longer in business, so don't bother trying to go there. We were excited but were really let down....

This is a tourist stop, with busses stopping right across the street. Of course, while you wait to have your order taken or your food to come out, the drinks are flowing. No problem with that service. When I got my food, it was pretty good, but a little expensive. I enjoyed the tortilla chips and salsa. The house made guacamole was delicious, though.

It's a traditional colonial style Spanish building with an open atrium in the middle complete with a running fountain directly in the center. They are well known for their brunch, but we stopped in for the lunch service. It was quite crowded when we got there, but we were able to be seated right when we arrived. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of Mexican dishes, all the ones that we tried fantastic. I chose the chicken pool because it was the only new one for me. Was raised in San Diego and live in Los Angeles so most of the dishes on the menu I can find back at home but the pinup was a new one for me and I really loved it. The restaurant location is very walkable and is in the outer ring of the city center aka Plaza de Armas. Is easy to walk to the farmers market in the center courtyard or to one of the other many shops close by. I would definitely recommend to anyone to stop here when visiting Valladolid and I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

The menu leans heavily toward seafood and Mayan influences, and I have always been extremely happy with my meals. The service is great, the atmosphere wonderful and the "special coffee" is a must have! The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that Hubby has been a little disappointed a couple times (ie. overcooked tuna). Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area or staying in the hotel.

Our two waiters both named Carlos were very good, but are very busy with other tables, so we didn't get to service that were accustomed to. We ordered the Mediterranean salad, it was very good but the lettuce should be crisp and cold and it wasn't. My wife ordered the ham croquettes, she's very happy with her dinner. I ordered the Ribeye steak with with french fries, the steak has to be one of the best steaks I have had in 20 years, absolutely delicious. The french fries were a little bit on the cold side and not crispy. It came with a salad, but again the lettuce was not cold, and not crispy. Overall, we highly recommend Nainos Restaurant. My wife had the margarita and she says it's one of the best margaritas that she has ever had, the bartender; Carlo's who was also I waiter did a fantastic job with that drink. We went on a Saturday night and it was pleasantly relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Alex took amazing care of us. He was attentive, kind, and always one step ahead, bringing things before we even had to ask. He also shared great insight about the restaurant and its background, which we really appreciated. The food was as delicious as ever. We always order the grilled octopus and it's a must every time, perfectly tender and full of flavor. This time we also tried a small shrimp ceviche that had a great balance of acidity and spice. We finished with the grilled fish, which was soft, fresh, and really tasty. I skipped the margarita this time, but they are also one of my favorite things to get here. We will definitely keep coming back.

I thought the fish was a little over-fried but my husband liked it that way. The grilled octopus was not overcooked, but in fact very tender, and cooked with this red sauce that made it very juicy. These were their two recommended dishes and I'm glad we got to try them. Just be careful with the water here (like any place in Mexico). I think I got sick because my drink had ice in it, which melted and contaminated my drink. Small mixed ceviche 10/10 - We were pleasantly surprised by the serving size ("THIS is a small?")
