The total experience from design to installation left nothing to be desired as they were proactive, timely, competent and clean. Every interaction showed why a family run business is better than an impersonal box store. They asked questions for clarification rather than assume this is what we wanted. They had a "can do attitude" verses one full of excuses. The contractural agreement and payment schedule was straightforward and painless. I certainly would use them if I had to do it all over again but there is no need. Like I said, 2 years have passed and all is still very good! Lines and reveals are tight, uniform, and proportional. Paint job is superior to many others! It has held up well in the last year year and a half. As with any custom build, there were some unique challenges, and we had a request for a minor change here and there as our design evolved. Casey was attentive and creative in helping us in the process. He was always available to verify measurements to make sure our other trades could put stuff in the appropriate place (plumbing lines, outlets, etc). We are now 1+ years into living with the new kitchen, and even though it is of fairly modest size, we feel it has every amenity one could wish for, and facilitates ease in workflow as if it were much larger than it is! Andrews Fine Cabinets made this all possible, and they were easy to work with. We report zero problems as of 1.5 yrs of use. Doors and drawers still square and smooth. We just used DMD as the general contractor for an Ikea kitchen remodel. The experience with the…read moreother two contractors involved -- the quartz countertop installer and especially Ikea's Traemand in-house cabinet installers -- led me to appreciate David and his crew more. DMD is incredibly clean and careful. They laid out masonite floor coverings before starting the work and kept them in place until done. They kept the area impeccably clean during the install. They kept me well informed and met all deadlines and budgets. The few change orders we requested were priced reasonably. DMD was highly professional and creative. I was especially pleased with unexpected extras that David threw in. For example, I had not asked that our old vents and recessed lights be replaced, but David did so, and the new fixtures made a big difference. The Traemand installer was disorganized and did not meet follow-up deadlines. Our garage was dusted with sawdust from its wood cutting and Traemand did not keep its work areas clean. Traemand left unused parts laying around at the conclusion of the job without letting me know whether the parts were needed or should be returned or discarded. The installed cabinets had discarded parts and sawdust in them. These shortcomings would be unthinkable from DMD. I highly recommend DMD for general contracting work.

What was great about David is the job came in on the price of the estimate. David's work space was kept very clean, no radios. Overall the quality of work was excellent and living in the home while the work was being done was a breeze. David finished practically on time even though the Ventura fires slowed things down a week or two. 5 Stars for DMD, I can't imagine a job better done!
