Nestled in the downtown central district is one of the BEST EVER breakfast spots I have had over the 10 years coming to Mazatlan. I cannot believe not a single Yelper has been here yet! Let me tell you, this is THE place for breakfast, open til 2pm daily. This has got to be the largest breakfast menu I have seen in my life. I am not kidding when I say there are well over 100 items on the menu. Every kind of crepe, french toast, omelettes and every combination there of with fantastic sauces. They even have a cafe latte shake that comes in a mason jar if you want your fix of ice cream and coffee for breakfast ;-) Some of the staff do speak English and they do have all English menus. We waited almost 1 hour but oh it was so worth it. If you want to eat light, they have 1/2 waffles which I actually took advantage of as one of my sides to share with my daughter. Since I have not had a crepe in Mexico ever I decided it was time to go for it. I ordered the pulled pork and cheese crepe with a fantastic cream sauce. This savory crepe which has a hint of sweetness within the slightly thicker crepe with a nice dense sponge texture they have tons of savory and tons of sweet crepes) was absolutely fantastic. On the side I ordered the chocolate waffle which is made with (you got it) chocolate batter, covered with Nutella, strawberry jam and bananas. If I go to heaven I sure hope they have these there for dessert because I can't get fat eating them every morning. The architecture is amazing in the central district especially around Machado Plaza which is two blocks down the street. Inside La Antiqua is no different (see clock photo I took). While there are a TON of great restaurants for lunches and dinner, breakfast spots are the usual in most places. This is definitely a one of a kind place for breakfast and you will not find most of these items on any menu in Mazatlan. This place definitely sets itself apart from every other breakfast spot. Service was good and the prices are so reasonable, I might just have to come here again before I leave. If you come on the weekend just be patient, and I almost forgot to mention they have valet parking for about 2 bucks. I sure which there were one of these in the states. Nothing like it there either. 5 Estrellas!

Hi fellow tourist and locals this place has a very antique and aesthetic old town vibe and has great outdoor seating and just an overall nice environment. The drinks on the other hand we ordered 3 different types of milkshakes and frappes and all came out melted and not a milkshake consistency at all I do not recommend the crepes on the other hand and the waffles are very good many different types of toppings and fruits you can and and customize onto your waffles food service is very good and they seem like they care they have a lot of different food options and it's definitely a good breakfast spot just not for drinks

We came to this place based on a Google review. It did not disappoint. There were many menu options available. The food was fresh and had great homemade feeling to it. The service was great, the staff were all so friendly.

The staff was very friendly. The service was great and they even provided me with an English menu. The crazy cappuccino was excellent. Their selection of waffles and crepes is one of the largest I've ever seen. COVID: the staff all wore gloves, masks, and face guard. Tables were placed at least 6ft a part. Temperature check and sanitized at the door.

You know that one restaurant that is calling out your name after cross researching Yelp,…read moreTripadvisor, Google and top restaurant lists while you're on vacation? Alright, Presidio wasn't calling out my name; it was the absolutely obvious choice when visiting Mazatlan while on a cruise last week. The location is very easily accessible from the cruise port (easy 20 minute walk) and right near the middle of town as well as the Malecon (beach boardwalk). The place itself is gorgeous and most everyone in our party commented that they felt like they were inside the Jungle Ride at Disneyland. A lush tropical interior courtyard with a lovely fountain, a hint of rustic flavor and decor of a bygone era complete with aged/damaged walls which were there either purposely as planned decor or as a sign of age and weathering. Either way, these walls as well as arches were lovely. And you'd never expect an interior courtyard like this from walking by outside. Oh, and the long old bar located at the back of the courtyard screams of yesteryear probably lined with old friends, old stories and lots and lots of margaritas, mezcal cocktails and probably quite a few banditos. Service is friendly and laid back; as is typical of non-U.S. countries, it does take a bit to order and get your food and drinks but when you're in that 'Hidden Courtyard', it doesn't really seem to matter. The margarita tradicionals are fantastic if a bit small for a drunk like me. I also tried one of the mezcal drinks and it was fantastic. My 16 year old daughter ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon for $419MX or $23 and she said it was the best she'd ever had. The creamy mixed pepper sauce with smoked chipotle was outta sight good. I kept sliding my fork through that stuff when she was done. My 13 year old son ordered the Esquites and Tuetanos ($324MX or $17USD - Regional corn cooked in butter and epazole her dried pepper aoili, cotija cheese, sour cream, cilantro with two huge bones filled with juicy bone marrow with roasted garlic. This was really great and one of our friends ordered it as well and enjoyed it. My wife ordered the Carnitas for $399MX ($22USD) with the optional Smoked Cheese for an additional $49MX ($2.70USD)...that's kind of funny...just throw it in there, guys! This dish was delicious. I ordered the Smoked Pork Shank ($489MX - $26.75USD) which is smoked for 12 hours with an anaheim pepper au gratin with smoked cheese (no extra charge!) with a roasted cambray and port demi glace. This was absolutely sensational and massive. Wow, this thing could very easily feed two people (or three if you order some apps). The smokey flavor was persistent through every bite and the meat fell off the bone. Really an amazing dish that I wish I could have eaten more of! We shared the Yellowfin Sliced Tuna ($289MX - $15USD) with a soy vinaigrette with ginger, sesame oil, macha sauce, wakame and kombu seaweed salad, cucumber and red onion. Even though this was definitely not a Mexican dish, it was absolutely fantastic. My mother-in-law ordered the Roasted Pear Salad ($254MX - $14USD) and very much enjoyed it. It looked great! Our friends ordered the Seabass Ceviche ($299MX - $16USD) and generously offered us several bites and it was fantastic as well. They also ordered the guac which was sensational. Overall, we all were so pleased with this place and continued to talk about it throughout the rest of the cruise and considered it one of the highlights of the entire trip. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is what it's about when it comes to traditional Mexican food. No fluffy fancy names or sexy hybrid dishes, but good old down to earth tamales, enchiladas, Mexican Plate (the best!) and fresh made tortillas where they are making them and pressing them before each serving. Everyone had the Mexican Plate as we were really in the mood for some solid local flare. The plate consisted of a HUGE Chile Relleno stuffed with cheese and lightly breaded (thin) which was great. This was very tasty, and mine was slightly spicy while others said theirs was not spicy. The arrachera or skirt steak was melt in your mouth (probably some of the best I have had around Mazatlan) and the refried beans were very creamy and delicious. The enchilada was great and the rice was very flavorful. You won't find anything fancy here (you don't get chips and salsa either which is good or you would fill up on that and not be able to eat your big Mexican Plate). When I walked in to make reservations the day before, the young man I spoke to didn't speak english which is no problem as I speak Spanish. When we arrived and our waiter came to the table I spoke to him in Spanish and he replied with perfect English! Hillarious...didn't expect it since the day before no one spoke English. All wait staff seemed to speak English at dinner, and the menus were in English. I'll be back in December 2019! 5 stars

The gold standard of what I loved about restaurants when we visit. Last night I was shocked and disappointed. It's changed...and not for the better. Still the best is the head waiter. Was grateful for him. Kind, inviting, knowledgeable, professional. He is the one waiter in my world travels who I love the most. Now the bad news. I noticed the seating had changed and become uncomfortable, ugly, gross. I remember being amazed by the antique tables and large comfortable locations in the garden. They are all metal now. My wife needed a seat changed out because the first seat was hurting her. The salsa was still delicious. The beer cold. We all enjoyed our drinks. The salad I ordered came, with dust or dirt in it. I was the only one who ordered a salad. The meal came in a reasonable time. My wife had fish. It was good. My aunt had Carne Asada, she said it was good. We ordered 3 beef Filets anticipating succulent delight. We 3 gentleman couldn't have been more saddened by the meal. Overcooked to zero pink after ordering medium rare. We could have sent it back but,..the filet was so tuff and stringy my father in law choked on his, I couldn't cut mine, and my other uncle just stared at it in disbelief. There was no recovering from this 440 peso disaster. Topolo. Take this off your menu or buy beef that hasn't worked a field the past 10 years. I have zero desire to return as my time in Mazatlan is short and I focus on telling others about and spending money at restaurants I truly want to return to, Your wait staff was good to us. But I will not be paying 900 pesos to be driven to you again. I will remember you as you were, not what I experienced last night.
