$1 oysters
Mary H.

Love their $1 oyster special! Went there on Monday night for some oysters and bubbly and decided to have dinner there as well. Was suggested the platter for 2 people which included a variety of meat for $40/person. Although price was reasonable, the taste of the food was just ok...nothing to be amazed about. They also have a Tuesday all you can eat tartare but haven't tried it yet. Fair price and ok food.

All you can eat tartar
Gabriella F.

Surprising discovery. I went for the all you can eat tartar. We had the choice between beef, salmon and tuna. All 3 were very good but lacked flavor. The meats were fresh but there was no "wow I can really taste this ingredient". I loved the yuka chips! On the side you get amazing fresh fries and a simple salad. The place is huge, decor very hipster and modern. Very quick and friendly service. The music was too loud.

We wanted to try the Tomahawk but it wasn't on the menu so we decided to do steak on another day. To drink we ordered the apple cider. The cider was delicious and very crispy like I was eating a Cortland apple. We were served crispy bread with herb butter. The bread was crispy like toast and the butter was soft. It came with a small jar of baby dill pickles. They had a good crunch! We started with the lobster bisque. This bisque was very tasty. We could taste the lobster and it was very light; not a heavy or overly creamy soup. Pooh ordered the seafood risotto and I took the Dijon chicken. Both dishes were amazing. Pooh really enjoyed his risotto. He likes the addition of zucchini to give it a little crunch . The seafood was cooked to perfection. My chicken was super tender. I could taste the Dijon mustard. The mashed potatoes were smooth and the green beans were crispy and cooked perfectly. Our server was very polite and checked on us regularly. He apologized for not getting the wine when our meal arrived. Our only complaint was the wine. Usually the wine arrives right before the meal but our meal arrived first and we ate slowly as we waited for the wine to come. The wine arrived five minutes later and the server explained that it wasn't cold enough to give us. By the time I finished eating (because we had to wait for the wine) my potatoes were cold. We finished our evening with dessert. I had the lemon-in-a-jar and Pooh had the Crème brûlée. Pooh's crème brûlée was perfect. My lemon dessert was too sweet. The tartness of the lemon was overpowered by the sweetness of the almond crumble We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent but they need to put the white wine in a cooler sooner.

So I stopped into this spot since it had good reviews before I head out on the road. In a decent…read morearea and I didn't have to pay for parking since I wasn't there long so that's good. I order a salmon meal. The salmon was tasteless but thankfully the sauce helped it. The mocktail was good. They had quite good amount of people there on a Sunday but definitely had open tables if I wanted to sit at a two seater but they suggested I go to the bar which is huge, but no one else was sitting there. Overall an okay spot, nice inside, my one dish was mediocre but not sure what the other dishes taste like.

I loved this. Never saw another restaurant plop down mustard and pickles. The mustard was also possibly the most delicious mustard I've ever had. Very spicy and slightly salty - Duck confit on beans $37. Tasty, crispy, rich. - Grilled octopus on pepper sauce with potatos $24. Really tender and flavourful. The sauce was bright and acidic - Sorrel soup $13.75. First time having sorrel. It has a slightly sour taste. The soup was creamy and tangy. I'm glad we tried it - Quail with quail eggs on purple rice $37.50. Quail itself wasn't as flavourful but the sauce was amazing and soaked into the rice - Creme brulee $15. Flavour was impeccable. Had a slight grainy texture which was odd but this is just nit picking. Comes with a warm cookie Everything was good. I'm being more nitpicky here than usual, mostly to go back to these notes again in the future. I loved the meal and would definitely go back. Service is very friendly. Food came out super fast. The restaurant is bright and lively. Tables are quite cramped together but it makes sense as they quickly filled up for the evening. Thanks, we'll definitely be back!

The one time I would say "I highly recommend this place"…read more Without a single reservation. There are two dining options; an inner courtyard to dine, with that outdoor feeling, where the live music is heard, and a sidewalk cafe venue. Live piano combo music. They segue from one song to the next, seamlessly. You know, this isn't their "first rodeo". The menu has in alphabetical order: American, Canadian, French, Hawaiian, Italian, and Tex-Mex. It may sound impossible to accomplish in one kitchen, but they've done it exceptionally well! We tried three of 6. Each of us was very happy. The servers have mastered Continental service, it's a pleasure to dine there. We inquired how large the small pitcher of sangria was? Enough for two people? She said it would give us about two glasses a piece. Perfect. It wasn't all fruit or cheap wine. If we lived in the neighborhood, we'd be there a few times a month until we tried everything on the menu; then start all over again! It has a certain romantic atmosphere to it; it's also an excellent value compared to some of the places we ate. That is how impressed we were. The food is superb, just enough so there's room for dessert and coffee if you like. One minor complaint: washrooms in most restaurants are either 40 feet above the main floor or below it. =(
