Going go to start by saying the food was great. However, it was the service that lacked - meaning not enough staff to clients. We ordered food and the wait time was ridiculous. Our waitress asked if we wanted everything served at once or in 2 servings. Given we had ordered 6-7 tapas platters and the small table space, we figured 2 servings was a better idea. The first serving compromised of garlic butter sautéed mushrooms (7/10), maple syrup doused grilled eggplant with goat cheese (8/10) and a Spanish charcuterie & cheese plate with olives (6/10). The food was in all great, we finished the first serving pretty fast. We figured the second serving would come more quickly but it never did! By then we were already full and tired. It could've been that the kitchen had already prepared the food and the waitress had too many customers to serve. I called her over and told her I would only pay for the dishes we ate because the food was taking too long to come out. She got defensive and said the food was on its way and ready. I insisted no. After which, I asked if we could pay right away as we had to head out . Another 15-20 min wait as she served others . My impression would be if I had 2 customers that were upset and ready to leave, I would tell the other table " I'll be right back shortly , I just have to close this table off". She had no sense of time! It's too bad that the service can't match their quality of food and atmosphere. Hire more staff because clearly there is a demand for food but a lack of service will bring the hype down. read more

This place has the most impressive decor on the inside with the coolest chairs and tables and even the bar inside was really impressive. My aunt and mother were already in Dunham so I convinced them to come try out this new restaurant for lunch. The soup was cream of cauliflower (my absolute favourite) and my meal was shrimp pasta with rosé sauce. The soup was fantastic (but I might be biased when it comes to a cream of cauliflower soup) and the pasta was simply amazing. The shrimp and pasta were cooked perfectly and the sauce was different from what I've ever tasted before. My aunt also had the pasta and agreed that it was a fantastic choice. My mom had the Poulet Marcelo and said that it was also a prime choice. For dessert I had a Crème Caramel which was the perfect ending to a perfect meal :) read more

After reading Kassidy's review, I brought my family here for my boyfriend's Birthday and I was glad I did! We were 8 people so we divided ourselves into two groups of four and ordered off the tapas menu. I had made reservations for 8pm, so when we arrived they had a table ready for us outside. Our waiter was also one of the bartenders, so he was not coming around often enough and we called over one of the other waitresses a few times. She was very quick and friendly. We enjoyed some drinks and bread outside, but it was getting a bit cool and the mosquitoes were out, it is also not non-smoking on the terrace and we had a smoker next to us to ruin our appetite, so before we received out tapas I asked to move inside so they gladly prepared a table for us. The inside decor is gorgeous. The tables and chairs are beautiful wood, although the chairs are very upright and not very comfortable. The lamb was a favorite among my fam, cooked in a delicious sauce and really tender. The potatos in tomatoe sauce were too spicy for my liking, but everyone else enjoyed them. We ordered the garlic shrimp which had a good taste. They were the small shrimp, if you're wondering. The eggplant was delicious. The flavors combined perfectly it almost melted in my mouth. I'm not a huge fan of mussels but I tried one anyway, and the taste was good. My aunt and uncle love mussels and they really enjoyed them. The fig chicken is a must for the less daring in terms of trying different foods. The fig complemented the chicken wonderfully. The sauted vegetables are also pretty basic, but delicious. Smoked salmon salad was basically like a Cesar salad with capers and smoked salmon. I don't like capers so I pushed those to the side and enjoyed the rest. Like all the other tapas, the flavors mixed well and the salad was delicious. The 9th and final tapas we ordered between the four of us was the stuffed peppers. This is not something I'd normally order because I assumed it would be spicy, but my uncle wanted to try it so we ordered it, and it ended up being one of my favorites. It was not spicy at all. It was a red pepper stuffed with a tuna salad. Yum. The 9 dishes were plenty to feed the 8 of us. The waiter said to have a full meal, usually two tapas per person is enough. Since it was my boyfriend's birthday celebration, we had him wearing a crown and a Hawaii necklace. At the beginning he asked the waitress if he gets anything for his birthday, then at the end before we left, she brought out a slice of cheesecake with a candle in it which was nice of her. I normally don't like cheesecake, but this one was delicious. Very light and fluffy with a delicious raspberry sauce. I will definitely go back here in the future. We came here for an early evening tapas and dinner on a Saturday night in October. The place was empty when our group of 5 people arrived, but we were told once seated that a large party would be arriving a couple of hours later, so they'd need the table by then. Fine, no problem. We were only allowed to order off the lunch menu, since the kitchen had been given over to the big party for dinner apparently. So we had a choice of only two mains (fish or pork) and only six or seven different tapas. We thought the tapas were significantly overpriced for the portion sizes -- $22 for a tiny plate of cheese and charcuterie, really??? The mains were just okay, nothing special. And the atmosphere was a bit strange, since they were busy setting up for a party and testing out the sound system and whatnot. We were really made to feel like we were intruding on them. If they wanted to close for a private party, they should have just closed rather than seating us or the other pre-party dinner guests. Maybe it's an unfair way to review this restaurant, but we were all fairly unimpressed and felt that it did not merit the rave reviews that it seems to get. read more
