This year the Sunday walking group came here for lunch. We were the first patrons to arrive so we had no problem deciding on what to have for lunch, with a much needed cup of coffee and a glass of iced water to quench our thirst and tide us over until lunch arrived. This well-known eatery seems to have issues with being short-staffed like many other businesses so these ladies have to hustle when more people arrived. The same must apply to the kitchen staff as it took some of us longer than others to get our food. What surprised me is that I ordered the Avocado Salad (special) for lunch, with a side of fries, and the fries came out first. Almost 20 minutes later my salad, which was more of an appetizer (I should have asked) came out - last!! Just had dinner here, and unfortunately the highlight was leaving. The main waitress could really benefit from a refresher course in basic courtesy -- charm school might be a good start, because wow, the attitude was something else. The food needs serious attention too. The chicken wrap tasted like it had been reheated more times than I can count -- dry, overcooked, and just disappointing overall. This place has potential, but the owner really needs to step up the game in the kitchen, and the service could use a major attitude adjustment. what a lovely spot! sitting on a summer evening, the upper deck with its charming view of the village. yes very busy, understaffed, everyone working so hard to please the mad rush of all of us. but the two ladies serving us were magnificent, even if my French was so bad, they really tried to understand. we both ordered the caesar salads and nice interesting glasses of vin blanc. they quickly fixed the small problem of my salad, even if it was incredibly bland, it had a charm and i was starving. i so appreciated the whole evening. our first night in Three Pines! read more

Can't comment on the food because we couldn't get any. Arrived around 7 pm on a Sunday evening. The outdoor deck was packed but the dining room was nearly empty and because of concerns about smoke from western wildfires we asked to dine inside. We were told "of course" and placed at a table inside and given menus. We then sat there for 20 minutes while the bartender and single server chatted with the one person sitting at the bar and amongst themselves. There were three of us in the party and none of us could recall ever having such a strange and off-putting experience. Perhaps your experience was or will be different, but for us, a one star rating may be too generous. read more

We were looking for a nice place to have lunch while walking around town. We went in, and the place was empty (there aren't many places to eat in the area). There was a reason. First, I am sorry that we bothered the waitress by walking in. She didn't smile, she wasn't courteous, and she obviously wasn't happy to be there. We both ordered the croque madame sandwich which was just passable. My wife and I really felt that if the town had a very nice white tablecloth restaurant (a nice Italian or perhaps eclectic menu, the location and the dining room could have made for a great opportunity. Came here on a bus tour with a group of 26. It was apparent from the beginning they were short staffed. Meals had been pre ordered. A chopped salad was served first. Once they began bringing out the meals, it became obvious that one of the pre selected choices was not available. We were then asked to choose between a burger or fish and chips. The fish and chips was well done and tasty. Once we were all served the staff disappeared to serve those on the patio. They can't handle large groups. read more

I want to eat here because they serve the local Brome duck. I ordered the breast à l'orange which came with rice and vegetables. It was okay; the sauce was a bit lacking in flavor and the duck wasn't as tender as it should be. My mom ordered the butternut squash ravioli in a butter sage sauce, but they were out of pumpkin puree for the sauce, so they offered her a provençal sauce instead, of garlic, tomatoes, herbs and onions. I thought she should have tried something else instead, but she did like it (I tried it and thought the sauce alternative was not the best choice). My dad ordered the pasta with vegetables and chèvre. It was okay; he wasn't impressed by it. The table next to use ordered burgers and they were huge-they seemed to like them. Perhaps sticking to pub food here is best. I wish there had been a few more higher quality establishments to choose from for dinner. Eating burgers is something I like to do occasionally, but not all the time. The service was very good. read more

While most other restaurants in the region were practically empty, Le Relais has a two hour wait! We came without a reservation on a Thursday night and we ultimately had to take seats at the bar. My friends took me here for the Brome Lake duck. I usually dislike duck but went along for the ride. It was fabulous! The duck cut like butter and was prepared to near perfection. My major complaint is the fly situation. It was out of control. I had to swat a fly every few seconds. There are fly strips hanging over the bar and over our plates. That kind of ruined the experience. read more

My wife and I are on our way to Montreal and decided to explore the countryside southeast of that city. We booked a room for two nights at the Auberge Knowlton. We decided to have dinner at the Le Relais restaurant in the hotel. It was a great choice. The bar is well stocked and has a nice selection of draft beers. The dining area is cozy (there is a fireplace) and well appointed. I chose the Petite Filet which was a "melt in your mouth " experience. My wife had the duck legs a la orange. "Delicious" was her comment. The bartender was very helpful and friendly. Stop by this place, you won't regret it! read more

Visited Le Relais with 8 foodie friends and family during the Christmas season. All agreed the food was delicious and service from Genevieve excellent. Will definitely come back next time we're in the area. The gnocchi and lamb shank were particularly tasty. Thanks Le Relais! read more

I regret that my review of Le Relais can not be higher - in fact I may be pushing it with a 3 star. We made our reservation based on some of the previous reviews but in looking back the more positive ones were too old to use. Our server, a very pleasant young lady gave us a head's up that, due to covid, the kitchen was working with a significantly pared down menu. Our party of four understood that. However, the evening menu was more pub than dining room. We figured if they were to excel that might be the way to go. I and the other gentleman at the table chose the Fish n Chip. Frankly, although there were two pieces of cod by the time I got through the somewhat greasy batter there was really minimal cod on the plate. The accompanying salad was good but not nearly enough. They sure did fill my plate with sufficient french fries (again somewhat heavy on the grease) - filling but I would have preferred more fish, less batter, more salad, less fries. My companion's Le Relais burger was satisfactory but not memorable. Her fries were "chip truck" quality. Too bad. Such a nice building, great service and ideal location. read more

Best food I've had since entering Quebec! Went there for lunch today and had the beat and goat cheese salad and added chicken. Amazing and very filling! If you're looking for a salad with a lot of lettuce, this isn't for you, but I love beats and the chicken was grilled perfectly. Got a few sides of fries, sweet potato with chipotle mayo, and the regular fries. AMAZING. So crispy, don't know if I will be able to eat fries anywhere ever again. As this was one of the only place in town offering Brome duck on their menu, this is were we ended up going. We started with the Terroir plate, which was good, made of different patés and sausages. A nice local option which is always a good thing. We then tried the duck magret, good though slightly overcooked for a duck and the relais burger - again overcooked from what I was asked and nothing exciting about it. The beer menu could really be updated with more local choices (as is their wine menu) and really if you have such an extensive burger menu, you could at least have a duck burger option! Ive been to this place twice now, once with my friends when I ate the linguine primavera with jumbo shrimp and just recently with my mother when I had a wonton shrimp entree and the salmon burger. Everything I have eaten here so far has been amazing, the service has been excellent and the prices are fair. The atmosphere is relaxed but a tad bit more fancy than your regular restaurant. Great place to stop with your friends or family to have an awesome meal. They also have a terrace in the back for the summer... Bonus points! read more

Words cannot describe how much I loved my experience at Le Relais. During my vacation to the scenic Eastern townships this was by far my favourite restaurant and favourite town. The service was amazing. We were greeted by a friendly server promptly. Our server took such good care of us, giving us helpful and honest advice on the menu and town. The atmosphere was also amazing and had a cozy real log fire place. Definitely had a lot of history and was very original. The food... My god, the food was absolutely délicieuse. We ordered a few things but my favourite was the steak salad. So amazing!!! The cheese plate was delicious. The duck was sooooo good! Moist and delicious meat served in perfect portions. I'll be dreaming of this meal for the next few weeks for sure. I warmly recommend this place. Had an amazing experience overall and on my next visit to the area I will definitely be going back again! read more

We went to this place on January 1st, as it was the only place open this day around this area. I had cream of green bean soup and it was really nice, reminded me of my childhood. My husband had sophisticated burger and it was also great. The place is super cozy and the service was super friendly. One star extra for being open on 1st of January and free Wifi. read more
