Stumbled upon this hidden gem near my apt in Edgewater tucked inside an office building. I believe the owners son was working and serving up pretty good breakfast sandwiches. I had the Bacon egg and cheese bagel which was surprisingly good given coming out of a small sized space. This is an Argentinian bakery in Edgewater that also has brunch / breakfast options. Service is quick and the store is tucked away in a little shopping area. I got the good morning sandwich (croissant sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese) which was average (the croissant pieces were flattened and it didn't have the flakinest and layers of a croissant that I was expecting). One of my friends go the empanadas and I tried one of theirs which tasted savory and cooked well (if you go here, I would get the empanadas instead of the other items on the menu). It is convenient to stop by and food was served quickly but unlikely to go here again just because there are so many other places in Miami to try and the breakfast sandwich and empanadas did not stand out to me compared to other places that I have been to. read more

Figured I'd have breakfast here as the photos and reviews were pretty decent. Very clean cafe. Gentlemen who took my order was kind. My 2 stars is because my cafe con leche was watered down. Usually it has a slight thick milky consistency and theirs was unlike the usual cafe con leches I've had. I was disappointed by the egg sandwich I had. I had to ask what the black dots were in the eggs. They were black pepper. My sandwich felt empty and lacked flavor. I also didn't like the cheese. Where can I start. This little cafe is located in Biscayne inside of the 3050 building. They offer a variety of food and they also make delicious smoothies with protein! I only have 1 picture because I ate everything so fast. My friend that was with me for the previous three days barely finished her breakfast but she ate everything that she ordered from this place. Just to help those looking for this place, the entrance is not on Biscayne but in the back. After seeing photos on Yelp, I for some reason did not expect it to be in an office building, but a nice surprise because it was empty on a beautiful Saturday. The place is small and I thought I'd feel awkward hanging out there by myself while I waited for my friend but the son and mother owners made me feel right at home. I went with a ham and cheese media luna and an almond milk cappuccino. Let's just say it was so good, I ended up ordering another round of both. I found this great little cafe on my morning walk. The manager told me the empanadas are freshly handmade by his mom every morning, and they taste delicious! Definitely try the chicken & beef ones. Really friendly family run establishment. Latte wasn't bad either but I'd say the empanadas are the real standouts. We also ordered a bunch of good morning breakfast sandwiches and more. It's a little hard to find (easiest way is to enter around back via the parking lot). If you're coming in off the main road you'll have to be all past the lobby of the complex and it'll be on your right. read more

So happy my stomach decided to start randomly grumbling, because what a treat! I ordered 2 empanadas- veggie (onions, squash & something else I don't remember) and mushroom pepper... I thought about taking a picture of my empanada but was enjoying it too much to flic it! Bottega is a family owned business, The son greets the customers ensuring everything runs smoothly. Food is made daily by Argentinian mom who you can tell cooks with so much passion. I was raving to them how good the food was and she popped out to say "I cook every dish with love as if I am cooking for my son". I can't wait to try their other dishes like smoothies and Sandwiches! Stainless-steel tables, red plastic baskets, a busy counter, family photos covering the walls and a dining room full of people who clearly come here all the time. And the sandwiches are HUGE. Enriqueta's, opened in 1964, is best known for its Cubano and pan con bistec, but Rachel and I shared a medianoche, a tortilla con chorizo y queso and something called the "Super Cheese" with bacon. That last one is basically an enormous griddled pile of bacon and molten cheese barely contained by Cuban bread. I also grabbed some empanadas to take on the plane. The tortilla was beautifully browned, packed with chorizo and cheese, and substantial enough to be a meal by itself. The medianoche had the proper soft, slightly sweet bread, pressed crisp around a serious amount of pork, ham, Swiss, mustard and pickles. Nothing dainty happening here. The iced café con leche is also extremely strong. I will not be falling asleep on the flight out. Best of all, we got to meet the boss herself, Lucia Plá, the beloved matriarch on Saturday morning, greeting customers. Her husband, who bought the diner in 2000, Jose Luis, passed in 2019. This is the classic Cuban diner experience--a completely different vibe from Versailles or La Carreta. Smaller, more personal and much more like Puerto Sagua: a real neighborhood restaurant serving real people, with no interest in becoming a theme park version of itself. I'll definitely be back.

This one didn't. The rice across every plate was a bit hard, like it sat too long before serving. Overall, the food felt lukewarm rather than fresh off the grill or fryer. Even the plates that looked good, like the chicken breast with egg and rice, and the salmon with salad, lost points for temperature. The grilled steak plate had good flavor, but it shared the same lukewarm, sit-too-long feel as the rest. Overall, a mixed meal. The croquetas earned their spot on the table. The chicharrón, sirloin, rice, and food temperature need work.

3/5 Stars La Bottega is a clean, welcoming café with genuinely friendly staff who clearly care about their customers. The service was excellent from start to finish, earning a well-deserved 5 out of 5 for hospitality. I ordered the Milanesa sandwich and added egg and avocado. The ingredients were fresh and of good quality, which I would rate 4 out of 5. However, while everything tasted fresh, the flavors themselves were fairly subdued and never developed into anything particularly memorable. From a culinary standpoint, I would rate the flavor profile 3 out of 5. Another drawback was the pricing. While I understand that high-quality ingredients and rising food costs can justify premium prices, value still matters. Paying approximately $22 for a chicken sandwich simply felt excessive, especially given that the flavors did not distinguish themselves in any meaningful way. At that price point, I expect a more memorable culinary experience and better overall value. The café itself is spotless and comfortable, but one aspect significantly affected my overall experience: the constant, loud Christian rock music playing throughout my visit. Every business has the right to reflect its values, and I fully respect that. However, from both a customer experience and business perspective, playing overtly religious music at a high volume can unintentionally make some patrons feel excluded or uncomfortable. Whether someone is Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, atheist, or simply prefers to enjoy a meal without religious messaging, it can detract from what should be a relaxing dining experience. While I personally found it tolerable, it did diminish my enjoyment of the meal. Overall, La Bottega offers courteous service, fresh ingredients, and a clean environment. Unfortunately, the flavors were not especially distinctive, the pricing did not represent good value, and the atmosphere was negatively impacted by the choice and volume of the music. Because of those factors, my overall rating is 3 out of 5 stars rather than 3.5. With more distinctive flavors, pricing that better reflects the product, and a more neutral ambiance, this café could easily earn a higher rating. read more
