I explained to her I've only had typical swedish and Thai massages before and she gave me a thorough explanation as to the difference and what to expect during the experience. She offered to explain the techniques during the massage if I like or if I would prefer a silent session. I love the option as I enjoy learning things related to health. Prior to the lymphatic drainage massage I used the add-on for the Cocoon Wellness Sauna Pod to prepare and relax my body and mind. It looks exactly like a space pod from a science fiction movie, but ever so calming. Laying in the pod you're exposed to infrared dry sauna heat, it looked like red light therapy, vibration massage and Himalayan salt therapy and aroma therapy. Relaxing in here put me in a calming state of zen that I'm usually unable to achieve by meditating. This was an eye opening luxurious experience as my body felt lighter as the lymph and fluid were pushed away from the area and towards my core/kidneys. I've also gained my bodily awareness as I tend to tense up my abdomen subconsciously which inhibits my ability to relax my mind, body, and vessels. Now to the actual massage, first and foremost, lipomassage is not meant to make you lose weight! It's meant to reduce Inflammation of all sorts and boost your healing from inside out. Many people suffer from pain, swelling, lumps etc. This machine works to reduce all sorts of Inflammation. From my experience, I noticed after my massage I feel swollen but within 24 to 48hrs, the swelling reduced and I saw better results as I got more massages. You can't just come once and expect a miracle... remember Rome isn't built in one day! So if you expect to see results, you have to get enough treatment package. I purchased a package of 10 sessions which ran for 35mins. I started seeing big results on my lumps and swelling with diet and exercise at session 5. It is very important to drink alot of water because lipomassage is a lymphatic drainage massage.
