Where should I start... well before I begin my epistle, I just want to say how much I enjoyed being massaged by Inga. She's a sweetheart and I love her dearly; I've never met someone so kind and knowledgeable about health and beauty. She truly cares about her clients and their success. Now to the actual massage, first and foremost, lipomassage is not meant to make you lose weight! It's meant to reduce Inflammation of all sorts and boost your healing from inside out. Many people suffer from pain, swelling, lumps etc. This machine works to reduce all sorts of Inflammation. From my experience, I noticed after my massage I feel swollen but within 24 to 48hrs, the swelling reduced and I saw better results as I got more massages. You can't just come once and expect a miracle... remember Rome isn't built in one day! So if you expect to see results, you have to get enough treatment package. I purchased a package of 10 sessions which ran for 35mins. I started seeing big results on my lumps and swelling with diet and exercise at session 5. It is very important to drink alot of water because lipomassage is a lymphatic drainage massage. It helps aid your body to flow the right way and drinking water allows your body to excrete toxins etc. I have no regrets choosing to get this massage because my mind is already set on a healthy lifestyle not a "diet". A friend of mine recommended Lipomassage to me, and I am so grateful she did. I have a number of health problems that affect my circulation and fluid retention that the Lipomassage treatments help me to manage, including but not limited to adrenal insufficiency and multiple sclerosis. The TL;DR is that with each treatment, I drop water weight and get feeling back in my face and body, which can help with my swallowing, walking, and daily functioning. Lipomassage uses an Endermologie machine, which was initially created for medical purposes in France. When you get the massage with the Endermologie machine, it is sort of like a more advanced version of cupping therapy, which has also been shown to have a lot of health benefits, like improvement in blood flow, improvements in facial paralysis, immunomodulation, pain reduction, and stimulation of the autonomic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Further, massage in general can affect hormones and neurotransmitters. It can reduce the body's stress response, which for a person like me whose own cortisol production is impaired, seems to lower the amount of steroid replacements I need to take. With regard to the adrenal insufficiency, the Lipomassage treatments also seem to help me manage and treat my accompanying hyponatremia (low salt). I do not fully know the science on this, but my guess is that the Lipomassage treatments work sort of like the opposite of hypotonic fluids. It helps to get rid of pure water in your body to up the concentration of the minerals in your blood. I do not know how many of you out there share in my experience of feeling a lack of support from hospitals when you are going through an adrenal crisis and need support the most. I have frequently been discharged without proper lack of fluids, administration of steroids, and/or a steroid taper and essentially been left to "recover myself" until I can get into my endocrinologist. I visited Lipomassage after a recent hospital admission for an adrenal crisis, and the owner Inga, who is aware of my health issues, treated me personally that day. I came in tremoring and unstable, and Inga half caught me and half carried me to the treatment table after I put my rollator down in the hallway. After the session, I did still need to use my rollator for walking, but my tremor was much better, and I could even stand while leaning on things, which I could not do prior to treatment that day. I do not know if my results are typical -- as always, you should discuss with your doctor -- but getting these treatments at Lipomassage have helped me so much medically. I hope that one day insurances will recognize the medical benefits of these treatments and cover these treatments. Lipomassage is also great place for wellness. It is clean, has a peaceful atmosphere, and Anna, Gigi, and Loren (the people who operate the Endermologie machine) are all knowledgeable about the machine and fabulous in their own different ways. I have been treated by them all, and I highly recommend them all. Also, Inga (if you did not infer from the above paragraph) is one of the kindest, most caring people I have ever met. She genuinely seems to care about my health; I have called her an angel before and have meant it very sincerely. Also, as a head's up for anyone with mobility issues, there is an elevator, and there is street parking (although you may have to search a bit for a close space). Igna is a true gem and a pleasure to know! Respectful, kind, and attentive. I actually found out about this business after researching about places that offer lymphatic massage. While cellulite is the main reason people come here, I actually came because I have chronic deep venous insufficiency and read research about how lymphatic massage can reduce CVI symptoms. As a nurse practitioner, I am in the know and have done all sorts of research and have tried everything. I've seen specialists, I've tried different drugs (prescription, herbal). I didn't really expect this to help. But it definitely has. I can't say that it's made my symptoms disappear, but it has lessened them by at least 50%. The licensed technician gave me numerous tips on how to take care of my scar. I've been using LPG already for more then 5 years once a week with Lipomassage Chicago. As a mother of four kids I know how much work and dedication it takes to recover from pregnancy and breastfeeding weight gain.
