Because of past dental trauma, I hadn't been to a dentist since 2020. I called several offices that morning, but Nora was the first person to answer. Her kindness immediately put me at ease, and she got me scheduled quickly. That same warmth greeted me when I walked through the door. Then I met Kayla, who was an absolute Godsend. I came in already struggling with a cane and boot from an ankle injury, and we connected over her own experience with an injury. She explained everything before doing it and was incredibly gentle with my photos and X-rays. But what meant the most was her compassion. When I became emotional about the years of damage to my teeth, she handed me tissues, reminded me to breathe and told me, "one step at a time." I never once felt judged. I felt safe. Vanessa, my hygienist, was incredibly kind, informative and compassionate. Dr. Kim took his time explaining what was happening, what could be fixed and all of my options. When I asked for his personal advice, he explained how each option could affect me long-term, which helped calm so much of my anxiety. Finally, Letty walked me through my treatment plan and finances. Instead of just handing me a huge number, she broke everything down, helped me prioritize what was most urgent and discussed ways to make treatment manageable. When I wasn't approved for enough financing and felt defeated, she suggested looking into individual dental insurance--giving me another option and hope instead of making me feel like the conversation was over. I didn't even have dental work done that day--this 5-star review is based entirely on the exceptional care I received during my exam. From Nora answering my frightened phone call, to Kayla helping me through my anxiety, Vanessa educating me, Dr. Kim explaining my options and Letty helping me find a path forward, I felt cared for at every single step. I did not appreciate her chair side manner and filed a formal complaint via email with office staff. I was seen last week by a Male Doctor (I am unable to remember his name). He did an amazing job numbing me and cleaning out an infection. I was suppose to receive a root canal / crown today and Dr Khalil barely numbed me and then immediately referred me to a specialist. I won't be able to see the specialist until Monday. She was working on two patients simultaneously, which I felt was inappropriate. When I was seen by the Male Dentist last week, he completely numbed me and it took two hours for the anesthetic to wear after I left. I left the office today at 4:30p and less than 15 minutes later the numbing sensation is already gone. I told Dr. Khalil I could feel pain but then she decided to refer me to a specialist. The Dentist last week had no issues. I would not recommend Dr. Khalil at all. She has poor chair side manner and the only "instructions" she said was to not eat for 20 minutes and presented with attitude when I questioned her as to why I needed to see a specialist and when I told her I was completely numb last week.
