a plate of fried squids with dipping sauce

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Lasalle. The vibe fun with the people around. Excellent service from our waitress. Food wise, the calamari was excellent to the T. Our pasta (gnocchi with burrata and seafood spaghettini) were average, especially gnocchi was over cooked and drowning in the high amount of sauce. The prices are very steep. If you want dish out money heavily, that's an option.

Service here was exceptional, partly because my aunt knew the owner. We ate a whole lot and I won't be going through everything but overall it was not bad. Everything is made in house which is a great touch. The in house cured meats is delicious. I wouldn't recommend eating steak here, I would choose the pasta. Overall the food was not bad, I wouldn't go back though as it is really far west and nothing really wowed me. Keep Eating, Angela

Ok so let's talk about La Campagnola. Obviously it scores major points because it's a BYOW. That's always appreciated when the check arrives. The food is - as you can clearly tell by the reviews - AMAZING. The ingredients are high quality and fresh, they make a lot of their own recipes, and it shows. For god's sake even the homemade bread and butter is finger licking good. I'm a fan of the veal, but tonight it was the mozzarella di bufala that stole the show. The service is impeccable, and the fact that the waiters are all Italians adds a nice touch of authenticity. The decor is nice, the ambiance pleasant, honestly I would eat there every week. I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars because I've been twice so far and on neither occasions there was Tiramisu available. A proper Italian meal has to end with Tiramisu and limoncello, everyone knows that. Also, the place is always packed and very very loud. It's not bothersome enough that you won't have a fabulous time, but you may not have a voice the next day. But your belly will be stuffed with incredible amazing deliciousness, so who cares. Oh! I almost forgot the Canolis. The are very light and airy. Amongst the best in the city. I will go back every chance I get.

It's kinda weird how such a tasty restaurant is in the middle of nowhere. All their seafood is exquisite, of a higher class than seafood in the cafeteria. You'll know what I mean when you taste their fried calamari or jumbo shrimp. Maybe it's the seasoning. The pizza is average, but the steak is pretty good quality. There's free bread, ham, butter, and paprika butter. Oh, bring your own wine.

This restaurant really offers an interesting menu with lots of delicious options for every taste. The service is top notch and I suggest you listen closely to the options offered by your waiter as they will recommend the flavours of the moment. They have a wide selection of charcuterie and aged meats. I had the deluxe charcuterie platter and let me tell you it was both generous and refined. I regret that I came late as I had only a small appetite so I finished off with an aragula salad. However, I will be back to try out their rack of lamb and veal scaloppine as my friends had it and made me taste these heavenly dishes. On a side note, the low light ambiance is nice but the pictures had to be taken with flash which doesn't give them enough credit in the beautiful presentation of the plates.

My husband first took me to Campangnola almost 11 years ago. I love this place. The steak is incredible! Their pasta Gigi is hands down the best in the city and don't even get me started in the cannolis....yum!! We feel at home every single time we come in. Everyone from the owner to the busboy is smiling and greets you like family. Thank you for making us feel at home every time we come in.

What an amazing restaurant. This gem of a BYOW has amazing food..the food is fresh, there are always great options and the taste is mouthwatering. A place for the whole family. From surf and turf to pizza for the kids. The service is friendly and welcoming and the decor is beautiful. Looking forward for our next visit.

This was the best meal I have had in a long time. We started with sausage bruscetta, arencini, and a chefs special. Oh, before you order they bring you fresh baked bread with slices of cappicol and two different flavoured butter. I had the vegetarian pizza with home made sausage. Excellent. Too much for 1 person. The others ordered various veal scalopni plates. Everything was flavorful and plenty of food on everyone's plate.

Went in with no expectations but was blown away by everything, from the service, to the food. Gobsmacked that this isn't more well known as I know so many people who has been to montreal countless of times even the locals who hasn't been to this steak house. Its also a casino and cigar lounge so it makes it even better. Oyster rockerfeller ($21) ~ OH GOD this was phenomenal. The bechamel and the parmesan cheese was so rich and paired so well with the fatty and sweet oyster. 10/10. Fried calamari ($24) ~ super crispy, and well seasoned the pieces of calamari were big and the cocktail sauce it paired with was chef kiss. It was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all! 9.5/10. Linguini with octopus and cuttlefish ($42) ~ the pasta was al dente, there was chunks of tomato, and seafood which was nice. 7.5/10 22oz bone in cowboy rib steak ($75) ~ perfect cooked and perfectly seasoned it was so good and the meat melts in your mouth! It was absolutely chef kiss if I didn't have to share I would've devoured this soo quickly it would've scared everyone. Definitely worth it for the price, and it was beautifully done. 10/10. Wild mushroom ($14) ~ well seasoned and sauteed it was good and the mix of mushrooms were a great pairing with the steak. 8.5/10 Loaded baked potato ($16) ~ I UNDERSTAND - this is a well known side dish here and I know $16 for potato its totally worth it though. The potato was so cheesy and buttery and melts in your mouth it was rich and also paired perfectly with all the dishes we got. This potato was on another level for sure. 10/10. Empress gin & tonic ~ stunning perfect ratio of gin and tonic, and it was delicious an the rosemary on top was the perfect garnish. 10/10.

The staff was incredibly helpful and nice to us with great recommendations. For starters I got the lobster bisque and then had the filet migion for dinner. Exceptional quality on the meat will definitely have me coming back. For dessert we sampled the tiramisu and crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was made with grand marnier and made an excellent edition to the dessert

We ordered a variety of things (including things we wouldn't usually order to try and enjoy the full experience). We had a special that they were having that night similar to a charcuterie board, croquettes, hangar steak, lobster spaghetti, fries, bread and pickle, and a scallop soup type dish (I forget what it was called and honestly it was my absolute favorite most unique dish). The service is outstanding and our server was so knowledgeable and helpful. The space is small and intimate - perfect for a date night!

My entire Montreal trip was planned around getting this reservation. The food here is good. It reminds me of what restaurants used to do; cook for enjoying instead of just paying the bills. When you start to cook for just the money, you lose the risk taking and excitement from the food. Firstly, the restaurant is very hot. They need to check their AC or maybe they're just choosing to be very European. But that aside our waiter was very good and friendly. He really helped make our dinner fun and memorable. The beef tartare was ok. The sweetbreads were probably the best I've ever had anywhere. The double down is their riff on the KFC sandwich where they used two pieces of fried chicken as bread, instead these guys used two pieces of fried foie gras. It's rich, fatty, and delicious. You do not want to eat more than what they've given but it was every bit enjoyable. The pasta and sausages were good as well. But the strawberry sorbet dessert was so damn good and exactly what I needed to cool down. I had a great experience and highly recommend Joe Beef.
