Came as part of a private party for lunch. The restaurant itself is very large with high ceilings and looks pretty modern. There is on bathroom on the main floor by the pizza oven and more downstairs. The waiters and waitresses were friendly, but I think we needed more of them, or for them to come by more often since we had 30 people and we were constantly in need of water and soda refills. They brought warm rolls to the tables which were divine. I love when an Italian restaurant has good bread and even better when they are served warm. There was a preset menu so I ordered the salmon which came in a creamy lemon sauce with a side of pasta with butter and parmesan. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious (I ended up putting the sauce on the pasta). It was a nice sized portion and I really enjoyed the dish. I would go back. read more

First time at this establishment. My niece made reservations for 6:00pm and was told we would most likely get a high table or seating next to the wine fridge, which was okay. When we got there the staff seemed to be scurrying around and distracted so we had to wait a few minutes before checking the reservations for the evening. We were then taken to a long table near the far end. It felt somewhat out of the way so we asked if there was anything closer to the front. We were then moved to the front of the same long table (cushioned back seat). It was a better location but we couldn't figure out why the staff was running around and acting as though they were expecting the Prime Minister to walk in. There was a birthday party going on but they didn't necessitate everyone's time. There were tables by the window that were open and remained that way until we were finished our meal, which was just after 7:00pm. It started getting busy then. We shared a carafe of House Red from a lovely & attentive server named Véronique and then we each ordered a pizza from their huge selection. I had the delicious Mediterranean, which had fresh tomatoes, spinach, onions, fresh herbs, garlic and feta cheese and my niece had the Vieux Four (with smoked meat) pizza which she really enjoyed. We were honoured when the owner, M. Manago himself, stopped by our table to say hello. Even though the food was good, I don't think I'd go back to this place next time I'm in town, unless I'm with a dignitary or the Prime Minister. read more

Went to Vieux Four Manago last week. It was the first restaurant I've attended since COVID measures have been relaxed and restaurants have been allowed to open up. I was really impressed with how they've adjusted. All of the servers had face coverings and gloves. We sat on the terrace and half the tables have been removed. All of the tables are 6-feet apart. Even when the servers were pouring water or cleaning the tables, they were sure not to touch any of the cups or utensils. Overall very satisfied and impressed with how this restaurant has adapted to the COVID world. read more

Le Vieux four Mango is located in a strip mall on St. Charles Blvd in Pierrefonds. It has a nice layout with ample seating. They also have a terrace . They have a wood pizza oven right when you walk-in . The menu has a great selection from salads, pasta, pizza,chicken and veal. I had a hard time deciding which pizza since they have about 25 to choose from. I ordered the SANTA Fe pizza which comes with chicken bacon tomatoes and onions. The crust was thin and crispy. I would say it was good but a little dry. The chilli oil did add a nice kick to it . My wife had the mango avocado salad which she say was amazing. Catherine our sever was very helpful in recommending items in the menu. The only negative was there was no servers or helpers in our area for a good 10 minutes so getting napkins and refills on water was unacceptable. We will be back and this place is a nice hidden gem where the local do eat. This was a hit . read more

The food was great and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. What's more, the ambience felt relaxed and welcoming, but not overly formal. Sometimes restaurants cram their tables together, which makes navigating with a walking cane awkward and difficult. I tried their table d'hôte and it was delicious. The portion was big enough for another meal, but in this instance I really didn't mind - I'm looking forward to the leftovers! There's even a smallish outdoor terrace if you want to take advantage of the balmy summer weather. It's far enough from St. Charles Blvd. so that the street noise isn't a hassle should you decide to dine outside. The are other places nearby with similar menus and prices, but I've tried them and they simply don't compare. We'll definitely be going back again. read more

Came here with my family for a nice dinner. Started with smoked salmon and calamari. The smoked salmon was amazing but the calamari wasn't the freshest. My husband and I love this little gem of a restaurant on the west island. The atmosphere is always so warm and inviting, the service is fantastic and the food never disappoints. On our most recent visit, we arrived a little later than usual (around 8:00 PM) and were pleasantly surprised to find that although it was quite full, there was no line-up. We'll have to remember that for next time, since the place is always packed if you arrive earlier in the evening. We started with the mussels marinara and my husband practically licked the bowl clean - the sauce is THAT good! He then had the angel hair pasta with melted bocconcini and basil in a napolitana sauce which was just the right size for me to savor a few bites - delicious! I had the salmon from the Table D'hote, which was perfectly cooked and served with a baked potato, fresh vegetables and a sumptuous lemony white wine sauce that was simply divine. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Although we were eagerly eyeing the desserts as they passed on their way to other tables, after cleaning our plates and emptying the bread basket, we just had no more room at the end of the meal, so instead we finished off with coffee and a digestif. I have to mention that our waiter was like a mind-reader - appearing with water, bread and freshly grated cheese for the pasta without even having to be asked. Bonus points for making sure my wine glass was always full! I definitely recommend this restaurant for a relaxing dinner any time - and in the summer you can also enjoy their cozy terrace. read more

I came for lunch while on business in Montreal. Parking seems like a nightmare - I don't know if I should attribute it to the small lot, the icy roads, or the bad drivers (kidding!) but everyone seemed to take up 1.5 spots. No matter. It wasn't very busy at lunchtime. I didn't have their pizza - I decided to be adventurous and try their pesto pasta (with cranberries and nuts and goat cheese). It seemed a strange mixture on paper but it was the most savory delicious pasta I've had. The heavy cream was contrasted by the bite of the cranberries and crunch of the nuts. It was enough that I saved my leftovers (despite having company-paid meals). This place makes me think the cold winters are worth it! (almost) read more

The restaurant has a luminous feel with very high ceilings, a cottage like-feel. The house salad is fresh with a light vinaigrette and the onion mixed in was good, not too strong. I ate my meal so quickly because it was so good, the veggies had so much butter and everything was cooked perfectly. With a generous amount of veggie, the meal still felt healthy. I will give this restaurant a 3 star only because of the fact that it is my first time here and went to use the washroom which is located downstairs with my 7 year old daughter; we came to realize that washroom doors are open and women's and men's are facing each other, I had to hide my daughters eyes in order for her not to see men using the urinal!!! My husband then went and said I had to hide myself using it since he was seeing the women passing to use the washroom!! Was able to sit on their patio, its in the parking lot of the strip mall, however the flowers are so much in bloom and plentiful you kind of forget your in lot. I've been to manago many times and each time is always something more special and more delicious! First let me start by saying the ambiance in this place is very quaint and feels homely, sort of reminds me of a ski cabin up north, though the place is small and usually always packed it never ceases to amaze me at how well the food is prepared as the knowledge of the staff. Since going I've had dishes like the veal scallopini, salmon with white wine reduction and creme, pasta that you can mix and match with other sauces and of course their famous oven stove pizzas. Each bite as savoury as the next. Pricing isn't to bad either where I'd say just about moderate, and staff is always helpful always courteous and always happy to answer, suggest and give a great smile to you. What I would wish they had more of was mixed drinks, ordered a Cosmo and while it wasn't a bad drink it felt dry and almost tasteless, it wasn't the worst I'd ever had but wasn't the best either. Our server had told us that they had limited resources to making mixed drinks. Though it's only a nitpick it's something I'd hope for in the future but for now drinks aside, for a delectable meal that tastes amazing fresh and service that's bar none top notch Manago is a place I'd suggest to indeed check out. read more

I love the pizza here. Every time I go, I tell myself I will get something other than pizza, but then I think about how awesome the pizza is, and it's pizza again. It is the best pizza I have had since being in Sicily many years ago. Cooked in a wood burning oven with very fresh ingredients, the crust is thin and amazing and the toppings are plentiful and fresh. The menu itself is very extensive, but I just can't get past the pizza, it's just awesome. One day I may try something else, and I'm sure it will be excellent as well. Food came, ordered 1/2 lasagna, wife ordered 1/2 plate linguini: both are served in round dishes: the lasagna, normally a square or rectangular presentation, was amorphic, "it will taste the same anyway" was apparently the chef's exclamation. Wine was as advertised (provenence of 4 cépages) and good value (the wine was quite decent). Food is a secondary consideration here: which is fine. Its casual fare, and not pretentious, but good gathering place for families, groups, or to catch up with old friends. OK food, better than going to a chain, pizzas are quite varied and sharing size.
