Here is my issue it's in a Lower neighborhood and charges the prices of an actual restaurant. Service was ok. But the manager or supervisor at the time I came in was super rude. My company came to have lunch here and I was drinking a can coke and the lady got super mad and told me I had to throw it away because it wasn't from the restaurant even though my company just spent $100 plus she was super rude to me and I will not be back over here for that lil encounter. The coke wasn't affecting the company at all but yet felt the need to tell me that. Humble restaurant with delicious food! Very easy to pass and assume it's like another Nicaraguan restaurant, it don't pass this place up. Let me put it this way, when your nicaragüense best friend recommends it - you go. Tasty food with a delicious display of options. The food I bought was horrible The rice had no flavor and it was burnt .. The Yucca Frita was soggy and nasty and the meat had a piece of long hair in it.. I went back to the store with the food and I talk to the person in charge and I told him can I please get my refund this food is really bad.. and he said no they don't give any refunds he was very rude to me.. I always used to rave about this place and the last couple of times I've gone it's not the same food or treatment of customer service. Some of the ladies love giving the clients attitude and hurry you up like if you're not already spending $15 a plate. The carne asada quality has gone from good to mediocre. They give you 3 pinky size pieces of meat for $15. If you ask for an extra orange sauce they want to charge you $1 each for something that costs them $.05 at most! First time at this place and the food was pretty good. I will mention that the carne asada that I got was too rare and we are not talk a light pink it was red. So if you are not into rare meat just be aware of it. The chancho adobado was good and well seasoned. The gallo pinto was dry and seemed stale. I been driving from Tampa down here for this food every time I visit. Over 4 year, However this was the first time I come & the food was cold & over charged. To top it off, I ask for a to go box. I was told I can only get one. Geeze over fifty bucks spent, three people eating and four plates of food ordered and one to go container! They were going to charge me for additional ones... are you fucking kidding me. Needless to say I will not be going back. I wasnt the only one, the lady at the next table was appalled that she was charged over $8 for a plate that barely had any food on it. My wife and I had just dropped her neice and the two girls at MIA for a two hour flight home to Dallas. I walked over to the cafeteria style warming trays and looked in, and immediately went to the door and waved my wife inside. Each tray contained an amazing culinary treat and something I had to have. We made a number of selections including the pork, chicken, steak, grilled cheese and fortunately rememberEd the Cubana Coffee. spectacular. In summation, yes we were out of place, two older gringos from Wisconsin, asking novice questions about the food and realizing that we were interfering with the regular lunch crowd, but they treated us like honored guests throughout. This place is OK. We ate here for the first time and were not impressed. The food lacks impact. It's mediocre at best. The cheese empanada was bountiful and right. We ordered the beef jalapeño with moro and plantains and it was disappointing. The carne guisada also left us dissatisfied. The crema de frijoles that came with this plate was incredibly delicious. First time I feel yelp let me down. I had to wait 20 minutes for a grilled chicken breast. All the food that was available (pre-cooked) was very poor quality meat. It looked like it was seasoned with biohazard materials, the meat was bright red. The only sides I could bring myself to ordering was avocado, which was extra, and grilled banana. I have definitely found my new favorite fritanga in Hialeah. This building was abandoned for a long time and I recently passed by and this new restaurant and it was full so we decided to to stop and check it out. It's definitely nicer than your typical fritanga but still true to the casual atmosphere of it. The best thing about the place is the variety of option of food. Usually when you go to a fritanga they have 3-4 main dishes and then 2 rice options and 3-4 sides. At La Carne Asada you have a hard time deciding what to choose from. There were more than 8 dishes plus to choose from, 4 different rice options and tons of sides. Everything looked delicious. Super clean place and the ladies working behind the counter were very nice. We had the typical carne asada plate with gallo pinto, grilled chicken breast with onions, peppers and carrots plate, a fried fish fillet plate and a dish called indio viejo. Also what Nicaragüense meal would be complete without a cacao, a tres leche and a pió quinto. Everything well made and my party was extremely happy. Can't wait to go back!!!
