Big Bro and I came here thinking we would get a pizza and I wanted a cannoli. I forgot to order the cannoli, and we didn't have pizza. I ordered mostaccioli marinara and Big Bro had chicken parm. Both of us enjoyed our meals. A big salad started me off and it was mostly very fresh greens with a couple olives and a pepper. The dressing was a packet of Hidden Valley Ranch. The sauce on the pasta was flavorful and plentiful, the pasta al dente. Big Bro's parmigiana was a beautiful sight, a steaming plateful of cheese topped breaded chicken resting on a bed of mostaccioli covered in red sauce. He thought it was delicious and would get it again. His meal came with fresh Italian bread slices with butter, too. I even had leftovers for lunch tomorrow, which always makes me happy. read more

Fabulous pizza option if you're in search of good pizza, good drinks, and friendly service. They use a combination of mozzarella and Romano cheeses, which I always am a huge fan of but you can customize to only mozzarella if you want. I highly recommend the rich, salty taste of the Romano addition though! There are extra cups for 1.50 if you want more, in addition to sauces, important pepperocini peppers, and more. I love that I could customize it to "well done" since I typically like my pizza extra crispy. The hamburger is probably my favorite pizza there, but just plain ol cheese is also a really good choice. My sister was in town for the holiday and La Casa is her favorite pizza. There's really nothing else quite like it. We had lunch here at this 82nd & Grover location. Honestly, I always kind of forget that it's that close to me. They had some great lunch specials and a nice dining area. Our classic thin crust hamburger pizza was hot, fresh, and delicious. We each got a side salad. I forgot how great their Italian dressing is. Cute dining area. It's not fancy but perfect for a quick lunch. The staff were super nice and helpful. They also sell La Casa t-shirts with Peppi (the logo) in blue and Husker red. Two thumbs up for lunch that day! read more

Maybe I'm biased because my family had been eating there since the beginning of time, but I really love this location. At that point, there was just this one, and then the one further east, and we all felt the food was the best here (amazing how food in one small chain can taste different from location to location, right?). But it's the pizza. The sharp cheeses rather than just the mundane parmesan you find in every other pizza joint, the thin and delicately crispy crust, the fresh, bright pizza sauce... I think, for me, this is where the magic is. I'd say the term 'magic' is too extreme, but I'm extra so I'm allowed (chuckles). Anyway, this has been a favorite of mine for so long, and I believe it always will be. Staff has always been nice. It's clean and small. Really enjoy the atmosphere here. Met a friend for a catch up at La Casa Pizzaria West. We had a great time. As always, the pizza was delicious. We ordered the Meat Special pizza, Hamburger, Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushroom & Onion, delicious. They have that really thin crust, so much better than all that bread you get at other restaurants. We ordered enough to have leftovers to take home. We visited, ran into someone we knew, had a couple of beers & relaxed. The servers brought our food & drink promptly & were friendly & polite. 2.5 I was excited to finally try La Casa after living in Omaha for so long. I was highly disappointed. This was very expensive for what you get. The hamburger pizza was pretty average pizza, but I liked the flavor added by the Romano cheese. I didn't dislike it overall but it wasn't my favorite. The cheese bread was tasty! I called and the guy said that a small would be enough for two people when I asked and all I can say to that is not true! The small pizza is much more of a personal size pizza and I'm glad we ordered a 4 piece cheese bread to supplement for the small pizza. I ordered ahead and came at least 10-15 minutes after they said it would be ready and I had to wait another 5-10 minutes for it to be done which was frustrating as others who ordered ahead came in and got there food right away. We ordered take out, which based on the lack of people eating inside the restaurant seems to be what people normally do rather than sitting at a table and eating there. Came by Friday for lunch with friends and got Toasted ravioli: average, tastely, crispy, cheesy Hamburger Pizza: This is one of the most interesting pizzas I've ever had. The rectangular pie fits perfectly on the tray and is deliciously crispy all over the bottom with thin edges. Plenty of ground beef has been rendered down nicely and broken up into small crispy bits. The place looks bigger inside that what appears to be outside. We got in a big group for a farewell party and ordered a bunch of pizzas, arancini, eggpoant parmsesan and spaghetti. The service was ok. They were efficient enough to bring everything on time. However the food expectations were absurdly overrated. For supposedly a staple Omaha restaurant, it was unimpressive at best and just wrong at its worst. There's way better italian places in the city. There was literally thick films of oil in every single dish and the pizzas were absolutely burnt... one thing is to slightly toast them or have burnt spots due to the stone oven process, and another is to bring what look like old burnt crackers with toppings. An old colleague of ours also brought its own tomato sauce because he said usually this place didn't put enough. I thought he was joking but he was right. Would not recommend at all. The review is just for the pizza. I haven't tried anything else on the menu. The service was fine. I know there are a lot of people in Omaha love this place. I remember having it as a kid and not being impressed with it. Now that I've had it as an adult a couple of times, I still feel the same way. We had the Quattro Formaggi, which is a blend of 4 cheeses; mozzarella, romano, cheddar, and provolone with tomato sauce on thin crust. I usually like cheese pizza, but this one didn't do it for me. We also had a pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive, which fared a little better, but not great. Like Pitch, I don't know what it is about the pizza that I don't care for. I get a large hamburger and a large with onions and black olives, my family devours this stuff, love to eat in but take out is like union station. We ordered takeout due to the pandemic, and they told me that the menu on their website is not accurate, so I needed to quickly adjust my order. I'm not sure why they wouldn't have an updated menu on their website in 2021? The place was busy, so I could tell they have quite a following, but I'm sorry to say I won't be joining their fan club. We ordered the hamburger pizza because it's such an Omaha legend. I have to say that I prefer other local pizzerias' hamburger pizzas to La Casa. I thought the hamburger pizza tasted overdone. It tasted ok, but nothing to write home about. Their menu said it is prime beef, but I couldn't tell the difference. I was wearing a mask to protect them in case I had asymptomatic coronavirus. Until they show the same concern for protecting me, I will not be back. This is an Omaha classic. The hamburger pizza is like no other pizza. It's not heavy on the cheese and it is a square, thin crust served on a plastic lunch tray. Not pretentious but if you judge it based on other pizzas you've had, it could seem confusing. I like it. The cheese bread is not much to look at but it has an amazing, nutty flavor from the cheese (tastes like Swiss or guyere). The cannolis are pretty good too. After contemplating heavily for over a year, we decided to try La Casa for dinner. I must say that the pizza we had was extremely disappointing. We ordered a large half hamburger and half pepperoni, and a salad. For starters, the salad was $3, and it was a pint of chopped lettuce with one black olive and a banana pepper. The pizza...you either love it or hate it (the romano can be a bit much for people). If you're in the mood it mix it up a bit, give it a go. We either get the regular cheese, the hamburger and/or the cheese with both (mozarella and romano) cheeses if we need to tone it down. The crust is really good...thin, almost crispy, dry. La Casa offers a unique style of pizza (Neopolitan) that I have yet to find elsewhere in Omaha, so don't expect something you are familiar with. Dine with an open mind. If you do not like sharp cheese then this may not be the place for you. I grew up in Omaha and currently reside in Denver. When I return to Omaha, La Casa is always on my checklist of places to eat. In college I would transport Take-And-Bakes back to Denver when I traveled by car. I recommend doing carry-out and BRING CASH as they do not accept credit cards.
