It's a bit touristy and you'll find a few posers in the crowd but it's still a local classic and it hasn't lost its charm. If you're like me and you enjoy the sounds of hustle and bustle while you eat, you'll enjoy it here. Food is LA priced, don't expect to find a value menu. Even if you're on a budget, check out the dessert spots at least, one overpriced, high-quality donut is better than a $70 meal. The flavors were unique and good. They offered samples when requested which was a nice gesture but their portions were tiny. I paid $8 for 4oz cop of ice cream. I accidentally side quested into here and it was a pleasant experience. Lots of fresh fruits and veggies from local sources, small indie businesses and artisans and lots of people walking their dogs. I went during the mid morning so it was getting hot, but the farmer's market was in the shade of some of the taller buildings which is nice. I got some delicious poke and ceviche that was packed with some ice and with all of the utensils. Vendor was super friendly and made some small talk regarding the convention and some anime series. Very rare to have small talk with a non normie, so that was refreshing! Got to enjoy all of our food after I got to the con and it wasn't decimated by security. Big plus! Also before I left, I got some mango sorbet with tajin to the side and it was a huge portion for $5 and very refreshing in the growing July heat. There's several vendors out there, but again, LA is definitely lacking the produce that Bakersfield Farmer's Market has. It's nice to see all the food vendors since I love checking out all the delicious stands, but the point of coming to the Farmer's Market for me is the produce and fresh baked bread or organic items made by local vendors. This Farmer's Market is not as busy as the other one I recently visited; however, it is a lot smaller and literally on the street so maybe that's why it's not as busy. There's so many food options that it seems more like a food event then a Farmer's Market. I really do love that this one stays open til later since a lot of Farmer's Market are only open in the morning. It's good for the people who wake up late or don't like going out early mornings. Parking is pretty crazy, so good luck. If you live in the area then you're pretty lucky just to walk here. This Farmer's Market is pretty close to tons of businesses so it's accessible to a lot of people, it's just the parking that's crazy. Because, this is a very-very small farmers market. This is not a criticism. This is just a fact. When you come to this farmers market, there's only a few sellers offering fresh produce. This being stated, however, these sellers do offer some very good vegetables and/or fruit items. But, you just have to keep in mind, your selection is going to be very limited when you come here. Other than some vegetables and/or fruit, you will find various sellers offering various other items at different points throughout the year. The sellers at this farmers market change frequently. So, you probably shouldn't expect to go one time, come back to the next, and expect that same seller to be there. They may be there or they may not. In terms of location, this farmers market is located in the shopping plaza just across from the central area of the Little Tokyo shopping and dining area. So, it's very easy to find. It's right off the 2nd Street. This farmers market certainly serves its purpose, but you just have to keep in mind that what's offered here is not defined by large quantities or a large selection. Nonetheless, you may find exactly what you're looking for.

Food Access LA assists JACCC in hosting the weekly local flavor with food stands, artisans and makers with handcrafted goods, many sharing Japanese culture along the way. Because of this pairing, the market accepts CalFresh EBT and SUN Bucks. CalFresh-EBT and SUN Bucks benefits are eligible to purchase of $10 fresh fruits and vegetables and $10 for the purchase of any food item at the market which is amazing! They are working on getting WIC and the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program accepted in the future, as well. This makes my heart so happy that this farmers market is truly making a difference for people. The market itself was just the right size for me - not too big, not too small! We were literally overwhelmed with so many vendors & their delicious samples. What a serendipitous find! Seriously, after two hours of walking around & tasting the samples offered, my belly was quite full. But we definitely wanted to spend some money with these vendors! As we'd planned to travel on a train the next day, we had to choose things that didn't need continuous refrigeration, &/or we could eat before we'd have a fridge again the following night. Smart choices or not, I enjoyed every single thing we bought. Vendors include: Homeboy Bakery, Moms Hummus and dips, honey, pressed juice, kettle corn, salsa and dips, honey roasted nuts, produce and jewelry vendors. Each week the list of vendors are pretty consistent but sometimes a new one will jump in for the week. I personally enjoy the baked goods at Homeboy Bakery. They have vegan options as well! The habanero hummus from Moms hummus is really good too, as long as you can handle the spice. Their other hummus is good too. Sadly they raised their prices by $2 from their original deal which was 3 for $10. My coworker and I usually get the kettle corn each week. You can get a big bag for either $5/6 depending if you choose a single flavor or mix of caramel/cheese. I like variety so I go for the caramel/cheese but realize the cheese does not taste as great. I will probably only get caramel from now on. Till next Thursday farmers market, I cannot wait to abandon my job to come loiter here.

Woot. They have yummy food. Especially my friends at the chicago style kettle korn stand. Mmm. Make sure u try some. Totally changes ur life. Chicago style kettle korn = chedder and caramel. Not mixed..but each kernel has a lil of both. Delish ... the peruvian food is delish and made to order. And the bacon wrapped hot dogs.. yumyumyum All this food is making me hungry. Oh and don't forget the organic greens and fruits. There's plenty of stands with the delish uncooked organics.

We stopped by around 11:30am and it wasn't too crowded. We tried Green Bites whose menu included Rice Wraps, Onigiri, and Japanese Curry. You can get one onigiri for $6 or 2 for $10. We also tried the Pupusas at Delmy's Pupusas, most varieties selling for $5 each. We always make sure we stop by Sour Suzie for Sourdough bread, which is situated about a block outside the Farmer's Market. All the vendors were friendly and we noticed after visiting a couple of times that you may see a new vendor or two. Looking forward to trying more!

It does not match the thrill of seeing things firsthand, but definitely saves time. We did not go super early in the morning when they probably had the best stuff because neither of us were looking for anything specific. Just wanted to check it out. There is definitely a large amount of vintage clothes, furniture, housewares, and other collectibles. There are a couple of plant stalls, although we only checked out one. It is awesome. That real bathrooms are available as opposed to ports potties. There is a small food court and a couple of food and drinks stands throughout although the selection isn't super gourmet. I believe the coffee was well over $10 a cup and that is for iced coffee, not cold brew. I don't think there were any espresso drinks. It can get quite hot walking around in the parking lot so I would suggest dressing accordingly. I noticed several people brought little carts to carry their purchases. The parking is free, but there is a lot of walking so you would have to carry your purchases a long way if you do not have a cart.
