La Casita Restaurante, Jayuya, Puerto Rico
Stopped at this very quaint spot after a great visit to the Cemí Museum / Casa Canales and by recommendation of one of the tour guides at Casa Canales.
Place has plenty of parking and it does look like someone else's house you are visiting.
We were immediately greeted and seated. The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived so there was only one waitress on duty. (I didn't catch her name) but she was great!! She was funny, professional and her recommendation to share was on point!! We were not starving but wanted to try something good and she suggested we share the mofongo "La Casita" stuffed with pollo, carne frita, churrasco, chorizo y shrimp. We ordered the required Medalla, and soda. Sadly this place doesn't offer juices. We spend around $50 for all of that! The mofongo was awesome!!! You have to try it to believe it.
The place won't disappoint!!
Since the was one waitress working all the tables (place got busy), we waited a while for plates, refills, the check, etc. We had remind the waitress what we were still waiting for.
Overall: great experience with amazing food for a great price.
Would we go again?? YES!!! read more
