I was excited to try this restaurant because of how busy it is all the time and wow I can see why it is. Once we walked in, we could tell the lunch rush was just starting! Many construction workers and other customers were taking advantage of their buffet option that the restaurant has! The buffet looked tempting but I wanted to try dishes off the menu. Next time I want to try their buffet option. My mom ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and I got chicken empanadas. Both of the dishes were delicious! This place may be small but they have a lot of seating and they can seat large groups.

Visiting Savannah and stayed in garden city. Found this little place off the main road. Reviews were good so we tried it. The green sauce was delicious!!!! Their hot sauce was delicious too. Their food was done quickly and seasoned well. The chips were freshly cut and fried tortillas which we love! We live 4.5 hours away in Florida and we wish we lived closer and could eat here. We really enjoyed it! I can't say for how the inside is since we took the food to go, but it was delicious and worth going to. We will go again when we come back to Savannah!

Excellent Mexican food. The place almost looked closed. It is definitely not fancy. I had the carnitas which was very tasty and HUGE. I took most of it with me for later. Corn tortillas were delicious. Husband had tacos--al pastor (his favorite), chicken, and something else :). He was very happy with them. Service was friendly and prices fair. They seem to do an extensive take-out business. We recommend.

Don't judge me lol. Mojarra Frita is a delicious dish. Deep fried fish with rice, fried beans is a must especially from this place. About seven minutes from the Savannah Hilton Head Airport and twenty minutes from the Historic District. Friendly service with a smile every time I go. Great place.

Guys I know from soccer who are Mexican or Salvadoran have told me La Chalupa out in Garden City is where to get the very best, most-authentic, of Mexican food in the Savannah area. Obviously, with a restaurant so highly-recommended by people who should know, I just had to try it. The restaurant does look a little run-down on the outside and is in the parking lot of an even more run-down shopping center, in fact, the whole area really looks as if it's seen far better days. However, once inside you'll note it's very clean and the staff are very warm, welcoming, and friendly. Although I do speak Spanish the waitress addressed me in English and I just continued with English and her English was excellent: I bring this up only because I've had friends who are not speakers of Spanish in the past say they hesitate trying really authentic Mexican restaurants in the fear no one will speak English and I can assure you that won't be an issue here. The food is what we came for, though, and in no sense does it disappoint. I had the tacos and they were excellent. Served in the traditional way with cilantro, onions, and lime and two homemade salsas which were both bursting with flavor. Every aspect of these tacos was spot-on and ranks up with best I've had in places with much larger Mexican-American populations than Savannah or certainly humble little Garden City. Apparently they also do a lunch buffet Monday through Friday and I'm eager to try this: according to my waitress and friends alike it's pretty much the proverbial star of the show.

Needed a quick bite before flying out of Savannah and wanted something not fast food and man did this place hit the spot. Quick, friendly service, tasty food, reasonably priced. I'm not a huge food snob but coming from CA and AZ I can somewhat differentiate good Mexican food from bad and this was pretty great. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing through.

This is your typical hole-in-the wall Mexican restaurant / store…read more In Mexico, many stores sell groceries and baked goods in the front and then they have a kitchen in the back, selling tacos and other goodies. This restaurant is one of those setups...where the entrance was actually from the store side. The lunch specials were offered until 2pm. Since we arrived at 2:09pm, were were not able to get any of them. My husband got a small carne asada quesadilla ($4.99) and I got a Steak fajitas ($13.99). I asked for mine to be made low salt and low oil and it came out sizzling and made on the "lighter" side....very good tasting. Good food, good prices, good service. Free chips and salsa were offered at the beginning of the meal.

This is strictly for a carryout order that I recently enjoyed…read more My significant other was there having Sunday brunch with a couple of friends and called me before she left to grab something to bring home. I ordered the lengua tacos, the Carnitas tacos, and the Carne Asada tacos. Nothing fancy, just onion and cilantro, and in their version of double tortilla corn tortilla that being said, sometimes simple is just better. The lengua here is so tender and succulent and very flavorful. Sometimes I'm a bit nervous about trying lengua at some places because I find it to either be significantly overcooked but this one had just the right amount of bite to it, no pun intended. I actually warmed these up and continued to enjoy them for another two days so that tells you just how good they were. Definitely would recommend grabbing tacos to go from this spot.

Yes, and definitely yes! Tequila and tacos--how can you possibly go wrong?…read more We grabbed seats at the bar, looked over the menu, and I immediately ordered a tequila soda with jalapeños. If you enjoy a little spice in your cocktail, I highly recommend it. Since we were only in town for one night, we planned on hopping around downtown and trying several different places, so we kept it simple and ordered three tacos to share. There were quite a few tempting options on the menu, and every taco we tried was delicious. Looking back, we honestly should have just stayed here all night eating tacos and drinking tequila because none of the other places we visited afterward lived up to this experience. The atmosphere was bright, lively, and fun, with a great location right on the boardwalk. Between the food, drinks, and overall vibe, this ended up being one of our favorite stops of the trip. We'll absolutely be returning the next time we're in town. After experiencing some of the other disappointing spots downtown, this place made us realize we probably didn't need to go anywhere else.

Tacos, margaritas and chips and dip 10/10…read more I came with a group craving some good tacos and a solid margarita. We didn't leave disappointed. Margaritas were tasty with lots of flavors to choose from. We tried the chips and dip trio. Guacamole was amazing and so was the queso. The salsa we had was okay but would probably choose something different next time we visit. Everyone loved their tacos with everyone having a taste of something different. We finished it off with churros which were just as great as the ones in Disney! Our waiter was very friendly and had good recommendations for tacos to try! It wasn't too busy when we first got there but picked up as the night went on! I recommend for a solid girls night or anyone wanting some great margaritas and tacos!
