Lovely flowers make the wait in line lot easier
Hadia G.

I would give this 5 stars in a blink... never disappointed in any flavour... always worth the line and worth the wait.. they have lovely decor and flowers all around which makes the wait whole lot fun. Unfortunately during the COVID time they eliminated their seating area ( which was always outdoor so not sure why) but there is a public park right across the street that has benches and you can sit there and enjoy the treat. Today we tried raspberry whites chocolate, lemon, blood orange sorbet , blackberry sorbet and strawberry basil ice cream.. and we were all so happy with what we picked!

The ambiance and excellent fast service is what makes their ice cream a treat and a pleasant experience! Everyone there smiles! Delish ice cream!

Folks we have a winner on our hand for ice cream. After a long trek which involved getting lost and then walking roadside for a walk that lasted longer than needed boy this place is a sight for sore eyes. So after having supper and a pint we decided to grab an ice cream. The lineup was long (15-20 min) which is a good sign IMO. There was just a grab and go option due to the pandemic. I settled on the mocha caramel and strawberry and sour cream combo. The Caramel hits the spot for sure strawberry and sour cream hmm I have had better. Anyways its a welcome relief to find a place that's not a tourist trap in this area. Definitely give them a try if you are in the area.

This place is absolutely amazing. Now hear me out: I usually give very harsh reviews of places but I can't say one bad thing about this establishment. From the service to the food, everything here is perfection. I have a gluten allergy, and the staff are great with it. They offered to get me ice cream from the back room that hasn't been scooped from, to prevent cross contamination. This is one of the only places that does this and so I feel very cared for and safe eating here. They also have gluten free ice cream cones! Not to mention, they have a huge variety of different ice cream flavours, they are always unique and interesting, and you will not be disappointed. I ended up getting plain vanilla once, not expecting much but let me tell you, this ice cream was insanely good, even for only being vanilla! Keep it up La Cigale, your huge lines reflect how great of an ice cream shop you are. My favourite.

What a beautiful little gem near le Nordik spa and Camp Fortune. If you are looking for a cozy spot after a day out in the snow, be sure to visit this place. Everything here is made from scratch, including the ice cream! Oh yeah, serious ice cream is here for the taking! This place is a lovely ice cream hub in the summer, so really, you should be coming here all year round! Be sure to try some of their doughnuts, they are really something special!

Best ice cream in Chelsea! They offer a selection of classic flavours (ex. Chocolate, pralines & cream) and unique flavours (ex. Ginger snap & chai, banana skor walnut). I've been here three times and there was always a huge line. The ice cream is homemade and creamy without being overly sweet. They also offer other desserts like ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, milkshakes, sundaes, and pies. I also love how they have lawn chairs outside, but wish indoor seating was available.

Nothing special in terms of flavours. The parlour and its ambiance was really charming and welcoming. We had the pistachio ice cream and tropical fruit smoothie. The taste of the ice cream was so so. Maybe I'm just used to the gelato variant from another place that is really amazing. The smoothie on the other hand was very tasty and fresh. If you're in the area and want something cool to eat in a relaxing outdoor atmosphere, then this is the place. Otherwise, it's not worth the drive from the city.

La Cigale - Chelsea, Quebec. One of the best ice creams I've ever tried. I tried pralines and cream and coconut cashew.

This ice-cream parlour is located in the heart of Chelsea's restaurant area and right by one of the large entrances to the Gatineau Parc. On a sunny weekend, it seems that everyone from Ottawa comes here. Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of icecreams, but since my mom wanted one and there was a long queue to get inside, I decided to get a treat myself. The shop has a huge selection of flavours and you can combine them (two scoops) in a cone or a cup. I got lemon and rum-n-raisin while my mom got maple-walnut and chocolate-something on waffle cones. It was heavenly. We sat down in the backyard on fake (plastic) muskoka chairs. You do have to pay a bit and stand in a queue, but I think it's worth it.

I think La Cigale is the best ice cream shop around the Ottawa region. A short drive from downtown Ottawa, La Cigale is also perfectly situated for those who just finished a hike in Gatineau Park. I've been a few times and have been impressed each time, by the friendly service and the quality of the ice cream. La Cigale isn't cheap, especially if you get the ice cream with the delicious home made waffle cone, but it is worth it. My favourite flavour is their strawberry and sour cream. It's not like any strawberry ice cream I've had before and is simply delicious. When available, the chocolate Guiness is also a delight, with a rich chocolate flavour and a hint of Guiness. My only complaint is that they can be inconsistent with serving sizes. My first two times there, I received generous sizes with the waffle cone. The third time, I got two very small scoops of ice cream that were hidden if you turned the cone around. Wasn't impressed but I'll chalk that up to the server just scooping too lightly. There will be lines on hot summer days, so be warned. They have nice and comfy chairs outside for you to sit on and enjoy your ice cream, and a play area for kids. All in all, La Cigale is a nice treat.

Good ice cream. We came in on a rather cold spring weekend but my friend really wanted ice cream, so we got some! They have a very good selection of flavours, and everything we tried was nice. I bet it's even better in the summer. It's not the most expensive place I've been to, but 14.49$ for 3 kiddie sized portions (really small) is a bit much, even if the ice cream is great. Nice seating area outside!

Cant miss it!

Donut shop in the plateau sector of Gatineau. I've been going here since 2018. I've always liked it…read morehere and think it's a great addition to the community. They sell donuts (obviously), cinnamon buns and coffee. They are big donuts, so one donut with a coffee is enough for me.

TL;DR: Delicious fluffy decadent doughnuts in a cafe in a large shopping plaza complex…read more After a healthy salad lunch next door, my husband and I decided to get some doughnuts for dessert. Life is all about balance, right? Lol. I got the Pêche et Fraise (Peach and Strawberry) which is a jelly doughnut covered in powdered sugar. Doughnuts are $4.50 each. My husband got the Tour de Chapeau (which translates to Hat Trick) which is a yeast doughnut with chocolate glaze, covered with chocolate crumbs and drizzled with white chocolate. It is not a filled doughnut. We shared both doughnuts. I always prefer filled doughnuts, but I was a bit disappointed with the filling of my doughnut. It tasted like pureed peaches and strawberries true to its name, but the texture was like applesauce which wasn't yummy, at least in my opinion. I would have preferred either more of a jelly texture or a peach and strawberry-flavoured custard. So surprisingly, I enjoyed my husband's doughnut more. The Tour de Chapeau was so fluffy and soft. The chocolate toppings were sweet and decadent. The crumbs gave it a nice subtle crunch. Service was courteous. There was only one person working and customers before me ordered specialty drinks so the wait was a bit long. They also sell ice cream, in addition to doughnuts, cookies, sandwiches and coffee/tea. There's indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. They have 2 arcade machines, Ms Pac-man and Mortal Kombat. They also had some boardgames available for customers. I saw Battleship and Connect Four. Lots of parking available in the shopping plaza parking lot. (153)
