I am not a fan of La Cocina De Mi Tierra at all... I placed an order through Uber Eats and was only able to stomach one shrimp taco. This is not a Mexican restaurant. I believe the food is Salvadorian, but it still missed the mark for me. I've had Salvadorian food and this did not compare. The tortilla used is not the expected flour/corn tortilla that a lot of us may used to. The tortilla was too thick for my liking. The shrimp for the shrimp tacos was cut into multiple pieces, instead of being left whole. The beans, were a pureed consistency and looked like slop. The rice was also disgusting and lacked flavor. Nice little hole in the wall type of restaurant with good seasoning and variety of dishes. I ordered over the phone and then went to pick up. Staff were not wearing masks and that was a bit of a concern to me. My food was paid for and ready when I arrived all bagged up, so it was a quick pick however, the place seemed a bit messy inside and them sitting around not doing much. I was not pleased with the taste of the pupusas, they tasted like the meat had gone bad. The steak with shrimp dish was very good, but could have been a larger portion for the price paid. I discovered this placed through a friend but they were located by the Census Bureau on Suitland Road in run down shopping center. Now they are located in a small shopping center by a apartment complex. They have 2 storefronts merged into 1, so it's much bigger! Since this location is in a shopping center with a parking lot, no one is loitering. The food is still the same! Bomb af! The only difference is that I think they give you a little more food now at their new location. Certain items on their menu went up in price but the quality is still the same! The service was real good, even though there was a communication barrier. I got everything I needed and expected. The price was fine, though I got charged extra for the chicken pupusa. I ordered tamales and beans. What I received was something I wouldn't give to a dog. The tamales were steamed while wrapped in aluminum foil. Needles to say, when I unwrapped the slimy mess, the tamale was a wet mush. Disgusting. The beans were not at all what I expected. A small plastic (maybe 3 or 4 oz) container of bean broth. I ordered Uber Eats. I ordered Nachos con Guacamole, $7.95, which I found out when it arrived it was really just Chips & guacamole. I could've just ordered guacamole for $3 because I had chips at home but the chips & guac was good. I just added salt to the chips. I also ordered Tacos De Camarones. Camarones where?? I drove by and saw this local Salvadoreño ("Salvadorian") restaurant and decided to give it a try. It is part of a three restaurant chain that are all in close proximity near the Seat Pleasant, Maryland area. Food. During my visit, I decided to have a cheese and pork pupusa as an appetizer ($2 per pupusa), a steak and eggs meal ($14), and an horchata to drink ($2 per drink). The pupusa was delicious, fresh made, and overall great. I saw the wonderful Salvadorian women hand-making my pupusa after I ordered, so I knew it would be fantastic, and taste like it was home made. The steak and eggs meal was also delicious, fresh, and overall great. I was surprised with the amount of food. The steak (carne asada style) was huge, and had great flavor. The eggs were sunny side up and fresh. The side of rice was quite generous, and had a good flavor. The black beans were a bit runny for my tastes, but still tasted good. I was also given fresh made tortillas, which were delicious. Service. The service could use a little work. The ladies that were there when I visited were very friendly, but as far as it feeling like a top-notch restaurant customer service experience, it falls a bit short. Location. The location is a okay. It is in a small lot neighboring some barber shops, and a couple of take out spots. It could also use some work as far as presentation. Price. The food was good, but a bit overpriced. The pupusas at $2 per item are good value, but some of the main courses, albeit generous in portions, are a bit expensive. Also, there are no free refills for some drinks, such as the horchata, which was a negative for me. Overall, I would return for some pupusas, tacos, and other traditional items. Great customer service! However, the pupusas revueltas that I ordered had pork that resembled pulled pork. Normally the pork is put through a food processor for a smoother consistency! I arrive to the location at the appropriate time to pick up my food. The food was ready; however, the person upfront had no idea who the food belonged to. I order from here for the pupusas! They are really good. I also ordered tacos from here. They really stuff the tacos and everything is seasoned well, but they would test better in tortillas. They use the same flatbread that is used for the pupusas and the texture is kind of awkward (if that makes sense) U haven't tried anything else yet, but definitely come for the pupusas read more

But when we went inside to dine in the other night it was terrible. It was empty, should have been a sign right there. You HAVE to ask the manager if you want the "complimentary" chips and salsa apperently otherwise you don't get the choice at all. The food took literally forever to arrive after ordering. Once the food arrived I noticed my moms food was never served so I asked the waitress & who told me we did get it. I'm like no my mom hasn't gotten anything, she's literally the only one who didn't get served. So then she never told me what happened to our food just left me waiting, once I asked again they tell me they forgot the plate because they were "thrown off" when we asked about the chips and salsa.
