The Drinks Are Reasonably Priced & The Atmosphere Is Different. The Staff Is Very Welcoming & Attentive!

I went for the carnitas tacos and they were delicious. The pork was tender and well-seasoned with a little crisp on the edges. Each taco came with lime wedges and house made salsa that added a lot of flavor. They don't skimp on portions either, which I appreciated. Service was fast and the staff was helpful. The restaurant was clean and had a relaxed, casual feel. Great spot if you're craving tacos.

In another one of my random strip mall adventures, I came across this place. You cant see it from the road so to come here you need to be looking for it. Not a big place and its dark inside because of whatever film they have on the windows, but dont let that stop you. I came here mid afternoon, not knowing what to expect but noticed there was a steady stream of folks there getting to-go orders so it couldnt be that bad. I can confidently say that these are the best al pastor tacos ive had in the DMV and...most likely the best ive ever had. There is an unseasoned meat epidemic in this area and I dont know why. There are tons of taco places that cook the meat but dont season it. From bite 1 it was clear they actually seasoned their stuff. If you know anything about Al pastor, its marinated to include pineapple. With these, it was easy to taste the seasoning and pineapple in one bite, then the next bite actually had a piece of pineapple. Take that, then add tortillas that they grilled so they had a slight crisp to them AND tasted buttery...then throw in the onions, cilantro, and the red and green sauces...last thing, the beans had flavor to them too. This was an all around win that only cost $16.

It is sad when I get restaurants in one star food is delicious. This is a Mexican restaurant in Oxon Hill, which I wanted to try because I heard they have a good fried fish . When I went into the restaurant, it look like a bar/club atmosphere, probably this please trade it into a nightclub later on in the evening. I ordered my food and sat down at the table and waited for over 45 minutes wondering where my food was, I looked around, and the waitresses were dancing, and my food was ready on the kitchen counter ready to be brought to my table. The food was excellent, but the service is something that you clearly need to work on. He.

My partner and I decided to order from here while we were off for the holiday. We ordered the following: jalapeño papusa, steak fajitas, grilled salmon, seafood soup and shrimp tacos. The papusa was good, there was a healthy amount of jalapeño and cheese and came with two instead one, as anticipated. The seafood soup was okay and the rest of the meal went down hill. The steak for the fajitas was over cooked and chewy to eat, beyond well done. The shrimp tacos has the baby shrimp and looked like they were size of tadpoles. The salmon was fried even though the menu said it was grilled and was also over cooked. The steamed vegetables were also over cooked, under seasoned and had lots of excess water. We ordered here before but this order has us reconsidering if we should order again.

If you have not tried this place, I highly recommend that you do so. The service was excellent, and the food was even better. We ordered the chorizo tacos with rice and beans, and the beans were seasoned perfectly. We also ordered the birria tacos, which were absolutely delicious. I am not one to leave many reviews. Their food was wonderful and super good. Their customer service was horrendous. They didn't tell me it was self seating, they didn't tell me I had to order at the bar, they didn't bring me a glass of water, I had to ask for utensils. They didn't even check on me when I ate the entire time that I was there which was a total of 45 minutes. I had to walk up to the bar to get everything I needed. Probably won't be returning back. Horrible customer service but good food. read more

I ordered the birria tacos and they were pretty good. The shells were a little thicker than I was used but were still very good. The consome was very flavorful. I wish it had more onions and cilantro but the amount they gave was solid. I'd eat there again for sure. read more

Hands down 10/10, my mom and I wanted Mexican food for lunch. We drove around to multiple spot. Out of every location, this location was the only one that had food AND a bar. We were greated at the door by Brenda, who also took our orders immediately and showed us great service. I 100% recommend this place. Food and drinks were amazing. read more

A waste of money. I ordered carnitas on a accident the first time so i sent the food back & I ordered "Steak Quesadillas." The lady brought this back and argued with me after I asked if it was Pork AGAIN because it smelled and tasted exactly like the first time. Greasy ass food that tasted like dog food. Get the breakfast burrito! 100% delicious and warm. The bacon was crunchy and cheese gooey. They added salsa picante in the side for the best breakfast burrito that I've found in this area. Thick homemade tortillas, but still delicious. read more

Ordered one torta, carne guisada and fruit juice through door dash.Total with tip was 60.00. They didn't pack the juice or carne guisada. The bag was double knotted. They accused the driver of stealing it. When I called and asked why it wasn't packed they told me to basically to kick rocks in Spanish. I reached out to the driver and he said that was how it was given to them. Door dash needs to investigate but that doesn't help with now not having dinner. Worst customer service by the restaurant. DO NOT ORDER FEOM THERE!! read more

I wished I would've browsed deeper in the reviews bc I was shocked at how bad the birria tacos I ordered were... well first on Uber eats the photo that shows their birria taco is absolutely not the same. IYKYK. Birria taco shells are more on the reddish color from being dipped in the broth sauce, etc and should be crispy .. immediately false advertisement. The tacos I got were falling apart and if im not mistaken they used papusas as the flour shell.. which is dead wrong. I was very disappointed.. I tore it apart and had some of the meat which were alright. But I think not having actual birria style tacos threw me off. 2 stars for the ginger ale soda. I don't like leaving bad reviews at all and don't want to be so negative but after seeing what I had. All I could think about was "why did I do that!" I think they could learn from the reviews especially with the way customers have been treated walking in their establishment. Not sure if I'd give a second chance , idk read more

Let me set the stage. MD is starting to reopen after the pandemic and my wife and I are looking for some tacos on a Tuesday. El Mexireno pops up and we decide to give it a try. Oh My D*amn! Their food was more than we were looking for. They had specials on tacos for $1 and my wife tried the California Burrito. We picked up our food and the weight of the bag already gave me a good vibe. Chicken and pork was juicy and the size of the California burrito is bigger than CHIPOTLE!!! Bigger is definitely better in this instance. Food was amazing and the price was unmatched. Their tacos were overall pretty good but definitely not the best I've ever had. The chicken could have used more seasoning bc it was bland. Also, the Birria sauce was bland as well... I also didn't like the fact they laid the tortilla flat down bc they were hard as hell to pick up and made a mess, they need to be leaned up!!! I'm in the middle about going back again! read more

Probably the best Latino restaurant I've been to since moving to MD. I've been trying to find a good spot. Service was great. Food was yummy. The steak tacos were so good. The cut of steak was good and not cheap like other places. Been here a couple times for delivery pick ups and tried it out. Food is standard good. But I can't get over the feeling like I'm not wanted there! Now I have met the guy who says he is the owner and he is pretty cool. The staff though is very rude and dismissive. I have literally been stared at without any help. Who cares if the food is good when you can feel the hateful looks on you. Super sad considering this is a "minority" owned business. Won't go back to eat and if I can help it I won't accept deliveries from them either. read more

I've had to wait a little longer for my food on occasion, but that's because everything is made fresh and often comes straight off the grill. It's absolutely worth the wait. I live in DC, but Chickboys has become a regular stop whenever I'm visiting my parents. Honestly, it's probably a good thing it's not closer to me, or I'd be there every day! My parents especially enjoy it when my sister brings home Chickboys for them. As they've gotten older, it's become a wonderful way to treat them to comforting Filipino food without having to cook. I tried the restaurant based on other reviews - wow, they were right! Authentic Mexican and South American food, made to order, fresh with great salsa's. The salsa's are in small containers, not a bottomless bowl - authentic with excellent flavor. I had two different types of tamales - both excellent. The owner Jesus converses with everyone who comes in, in English or Spanish, and the restaurant had multiple families enjoying the evening. A great place, absolutely recommend! read more

Soooooooooo Good! It was a beautiful atmosphere, and the host was so warming. He took his time to help us decide what to order being that it was our first time at the restaurant. The rice had a distinct flavor and they add season fries to kick up the flavor even more. Beef soup seemed quite authentic, though probably better than what you'd find in many Salvadoran villages! Lots of fresh cilantro and served with limes and deliciously buttery-tasting rice.
