Really small spot, but really great coffee. The line can go out the door, but moves quickly. I normally get a cortado or espresso macchiato but their brewed coffee is actually really good too and far superior to SBUX. There's a limited selection of pastries as well as taps for cold brews. Friendly service and a great spot for some caffeine. read more

Best coffee I've had in a long time! I ordered a Half Tan with the seasonal pumpkin spice latte. It tasted like a half cold brew/half iced latte, so it was the perfect amount of sweet and strong! There was a line out the door, but it moved very quickly. I wish I had a location nearby because it would be my go-to coffee spot! read more

I was sooooo sad they didn't have a bigger inside space set up. We really wanted to sit and work somewhere but that's okay- this just isn't the place for that. They had limited options in my opinion- but some options nonetheless. I had a hot draft latter and it was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect but noticing a full line outside the door in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, told me enough. The music inside was carnival which was nice and enjoyable. Cute little shop and great coffee. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit here again (I did go out of my way to visit here this time), but would definitely stop in when passing by. Small location but room to stand up at the coffee bar and it's getting warmer out so I'm sure there will be space to sit outside! Friendly staff. I tried the strawberry oat matcha on draft and it was perfect, not too sweet with hints of strawberry. Good matcha to oat milk ratio as well. I will be back! The oat draft (neat- no ice) is my top five favorite coffees ever. So foamy and tasty! I bring all my friends visiting the city to this spot to try their coffee. The coffee shop itself is small so there are only a few tables, and it's best to take the coffee to go and find a spot outside in the nearby triangle to sit. The staff are always kind but during the mornings you will be waiting close to 20 minutes to get coffee because of the line. read more

Stopped at this coffee shop after my redeye flight and visited multiple times throughout my stay in Chicago. The coffee is DELICIOUS and the baristas were very friendly too. The coffee although expensive, was definitely worth every dime and I appreciated the art as well. The pastries sell out quickly and I recommend to get there early to get one. This place usually has a line out of the door and almost around the block, but if you get there early or stop by midday, you won't have to wait in a line. There are a couple of tables to sit at, but wouldn't recommend trying to work from here if you have meetings due to the busy nature of the cafe. read more

Coffee is good as per the brand but the service was horrible on a Saturday morning. Didn't mind waiting in the long line at all and it moved fast, but the staff was rude and condescending. My mom asked about their pastry options and was given the bare minimum for answers, but he was still nice. The bar staff was rude when giving us our drinks, didn't tell me where the trash can was so I left my two straw wrappers on the counter and then the bar guy yelled to everyone "there's a trash can around the corner!" Like I didn't just inquire about it seconds before. Maybe they need to be paid better to enjoy their jobs but damn read more

Gosh I love la Colombe! I ordered the strawberry oat milk draft latte and it was so smooth plus there was a decent amount of strawberry flavor (didn't taste artificial at all). 13/10 would recommend. I also got a chocolate orange pastry (I forgot the exact name) but I wasn't too impressed. It felt slightly stale, so I'd stick to just the drinks next time. The seating area was a bit small but there were open seats as most people seemed to order takeaway. read more

The coffee shop itself was cute and quaint but the dark haired girl working the counter couldn't have been more passive-aggressive. The moment we walked in, she mentioned my dog (on Yelp it says pets welcome) and her tone was just not friendly. We got there close to closing time and she said: "No rush but we're closing in 5 mins." And surely rushed us out. I know everyone wants to go home after working a shift but she could have much better customer service skills. People can tell when you're being fake nice and passive-aggressive and clearly she doesn't like her job. read more

I love La Colombe canned drinks but love La Colombe even more now that I've been to their cafe! Can't wait to come back to here or another location. + - They have their draft lattes on tap! So cool. I got the oat latte iced, and it was awesome as always. - Seriously the nicest staff. They all need a raise. - Free cold sparkling water on tap--just amazing. - Nice bathroom (need a code to get in) - Very fast service. Ready before I even walked to the other side of the cafe This isn't a place I'd go to chat with a friend for a long time or work/study since it's not huge--not many tables (three-ish with wooden stools) and it's best for sitting down briefly or carrying out. read more

The service was very fast. I was in and out quickly which was great cause I was in a hurry! I got the Strawberry Iced Mocha and a Ham & Cheese Croissant. The Mocha was simple and good. They gave you the coffee at the bar with no lid on it and a spoon so you mix it all together yourself which was honestly fun! Definitely wish it was a little stronger with the chocolate & strawberry flavors though. The croissant was not warmed up so FYI they give it to you cold but it was very yummy. Coffee is 10/10. Service is too slow. Retrieving a coffee shouldn't take 40 minutes. Do I love the coffee? Yes. Does each person need 3-5 min convo to check out? no. The gals working are incred but I think a lil less talking and more urgency would do this location a lot of good!! read more

This coffee spot runs like a well oiled machine! I saw the long line and was worried, but it was a quick wait for great coffee. I definitely want to call out the woman who was working the order table outside - she was funny and sweet, and helped me with what to order! I love the system of placing your order outside, and doing a quick pay and pickup inside. It keeps the line moving and the store less congested. I had only ever had their canned drinks since we don't have the cafes in MN - so I asked for a recommendation for something without Oatmilk (bothers my stomach), after hearing her recommendations I went with the iced Whole Milk Draft Latte. She even went out of her way to make sure I didn't have an oat allergy and mentioned that there's a chance of cross-contamination. The iced latte was some of the smoothest coffee I've ever had. It was creamy and just a touch sweet from the whole milk. I wish I could have it every day! Overall, will definitely be back when I'm in Chicago next, and would love for it to be this location again! read more

I love La Colombe for their black and tans and oat milk draft lattes. There are many milk choices like oat, almond, skim, soy and the additions to coffee stand out than other coffee shops. For example, they have syrup, additional oat milk out to add (shocking!!), Nutmeg, Coco powder and cinnamon. Staff is always friendly, locations are always clean and service is quick! This is my favorite coffee shop in Chicago! While there's usually a long line on weekends, they make your drinks very quickly. I absolutely love the draft latte, especially with the syrup they provide on the counter--it's SO good. Their seasonal pumpkin chai is also a current favorite of mine. La Colombe has become a serious OBSESSION in my morning routine. Once you try the oat draft latte you might become addicted, seriously. Almost every morning I walk my dog and grab an oat draft latte from here, and once in a while the ham and cheese croissant, I highly recommend microwaving it for like 15 seconds and it's to die for, unfortunately they don't have the little toaster ovens here which is my only complaint. I definitely prefer this cafe place over Starbucks! I ordered a latte and when I wasn't sure which type of coffee bean to choose, the staff was really nice, helpful, and explained the difference between each bean/flavor. My latte had the perfect blend of coffee bean and milk (it wasn't watered down with milk or even bitter). The place itself is small but cute! read more

On Yelp, this place is called "Lavazza Espression" and on Google, it's "Espression by Lavazza." Lavazza is located on street level inside the hotel. It has both an exterior entrance on the street and an interior entrance inside the hotel. We stayed at The Drake and were able to apply our hotel credit at this cafe by writing our room number on the check. We picked up a large Orange Mocha Mio with almond milk ($7) and a bottle of VOSS water ($5). These both hit the spot. The Orange Mocha Mio is one of Lavazza's signature recipes. Lavazza is one of the few places in Chicago that still does specific Italian-style flavored mochas, which makes it stand out from a standard Starbucks. Our barista was Pouwedeo. She was polite and efficient. This cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating, though outdoor seating is limited to a couple tables. There's a decent amount of seating inside. Lavazza is located on the far north end of Chicago's Magnificent Mile, making it a good stop for caffeine and snacks (e.g., pastries). They also sell breakfast food.
