The worst Mexican food we have ever had . Seemed authentic and right next to a Mexican grocery store so i was excited for real authentic food. Called ahead to order a bunch of tamales for Christmas Eve. Was asked to promise I'd show up because they often take bulk orders and customers don't show. I assured her I would. She took my name and said they'd be waiting for me. Got there plenty early and was told there are no more tamales. Had my arms full of many other groceries. Set them all down and walked out. Made a special trip just for this. Won't be going back. Mediocre food I can tolerate. Poor customer service is a deal-breaker. read more

Went to eat with my family. All the tables that were big enough for my family of 6 were dirty. That did not bother me. They can just wipe it down when they come to greet us. There was one other couple that came in 30 seconds before us, otherwise there were no other people dining. We sat for over ten minutes with out anyone greeting us or give us menus. The other couple were greeted after about ten minutes. They gave their drink order and then the server disappeared for at least five minutes. She came back with their drinks, took their order and then finally acknowledged us. We very nicely asked for menus and my wife asked if it was possible that the table gets wiped due to it being dirty. The server responded with "Well, I just cleaned that table over there so you can move there." What?!?! Are you serious???? With out uttering a word my entire family got up and made our way over to the "clean" table. The server then gave us menus and walked away. Another 5-7 minutes passed with no server. At this point we got up and walked out. I have been in the hospitality business for many years. Not one aspect of this experience would have been ok with me if my server took care of guests in this manner. If it was busy (even a little bit) I would've maybe understood, but we were blatantly ignored. Maybe it was because we didn't look Mexican, pero hablo espanol muy bien! We love supporting local business and do so often but I think it goes without saying, I will not be visiting this establishment again. read more

I prefer table service in their restaurant, while some prefer the buffet. The food is delicious and very authentic. I had steak tacos, red rice, and puréed beans. Very tasty. But, my favorite is their fresh salsa w/chips. And, a bottled Mexican Coca-Cola. I look forward to returning. read more

The "queso fundido" was just a solid lump of cheese...not even melted. Just cold and rubbery. I was super confused because queso fundido is usually a warm, creamy, liquidy dip. It also comes with chips everywhere else so you've got something to dip in the queso. Luckily, I had half a bag of stale tortilla chips in my cupboard. Unluckily, the "dip" was so solid the chip wouldn't penetrate. The chip did, however, soak up some of the grease puddle that had formed on top of the solid cheese. Gross. Huge waste of money. I had to throw it out. The tacos were okay, but overall, disappointing. There are better options in town at a similar price point. read more

Definitely authentic. Entry is through the grocery store. Your choice is carry out from a hot service buffet table or choose from about a dozen tables to sit at for welcoming waitress service. Dining area quite plain, don't visit for the decor there is none. Loud Spanish radio music from the kitchen and the help singing along sets the informal tone while waiting for your food. Choices are quite standard and tradicionals Mexicanos. We tried tamales for an appetizer. They were generously sized but not in husks. We thought they were fried before serving and found that unusual and a little crusty for our tastes. My companion ordered tacos and I chose the huaraches, carne asada. I found the steak a little dry. Not the best nor the worst meal I ever had so for sure try it for yourself it might be to your taste. We washed it down with modelo negra. read more

Just moved to the area and was looking for a place to eat. Found them on Google and thought I would give it a try. Ordered online and went to the restaurant to pick up. When I got there food was waiting on counter. No one came out to help, so I just grabbed my stuff and left since it was already paid for. Once I got home I opened the bag, went through everything and realized I was missing a dinner. I called the restaurant and explained I was missing something, the lady was very rude and didn't believe me! I told her my order and read my receipt to her and explained I was charged for it but didn't receive. She was extremely rude and unprofessional! I hung up put the food back in the bag and went back to the restaurant. Showed them the food and the receipt, after a long heated discussion they refunded me for that part of my order. They wanted to just give me the food but I did not trust it. Very disappointed with the whole experience. I will never be going back nor do I suggest people order from there. read more

The food is good if you speak Spanish. I have learned that you will get stale food from the day before unless you go in with a person who isn't white and speaks Spanish than you get fresh food. The fresh food is good. The stale food is also good but not anywhere near what you expect from a restaurant. Don't go in by yourself if you don't speak Spanish. read more

We ate there last week for dinner and it was great. Very good authentic food and great service. You walk through the grocery area to get to the restaurant. We were in a little early so it wasn't too busy. If you are looking for a quick meal to go, you can get food from a buffet or, you can sit and order from the menu. This place was fantastic, beyond my expectations. It is a restaurant with a market attached, which is really unique. The staff was extremely accomodating, as my friend is allergic to gluten and dairy products and has not eaten out much as a result. I had the steak fajitas, and WOW it was amazing, possibly the best I have ever eaten. They are perfectly seasoned, and the price is affordable compared to most restaurants. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting this area. It did not dissapoint! read more

Their Burrito Special has got to be the best value in Sheboygan County. Enormous in portion size and the shear amount of Carne Asada inside of the two tortillas makes this a burrito for the ages. Its comes with Tomatoes, Lettuce, Avocado, & Cheese however these ingredients are very minimal in this meat spectacular (I would prefer a little more of each of the ingredients). A side of Sour cream & Some of their Salsa Verde are needed to balance out the richness of the Carne Asada, but the flavor & value are there. read more

Service was fine. We were a group of 7. Had to ask for my daughter's drink multiple times. Food came out 1 at a time. Took about 20 minutes before we all had our food. My wife ordered green sauce, got red. Her food was cold, plus she had to pull a hair out of her food. I ordered corn tortillas but had to ask for them multiple times. When they came they we flour. Best Mexican food in Sheboygan!! The restaurant inside the market is a unique experience and the food is to die for. In terms of places with some character, this little market is one of my favorite places that makes Sheboygan so neat. I don't live in Sheboygan anymore and every once in a while I fantasize about eating at this restaurant again. Highly recommend their tortas. read more
