First time here and I would go back in a heartbeat! Service was well we were greeted and seated right away! Waitress took our drink order right away while we looked over the menu. The business was not busy when we showed up. Food came in a timely manner for the amount of food we ordered. Omelets were a little dry but that didn't take away from the experience. I stopped in for lunch as my car was being worked on. After seeing that this was reborn as a Mexican restaurant, I wasn't sure what to expect. I would recommend making a stop at Midway Eat if you like Mexican; stop at this location. For lunch, I had the street tacos, Al Pastor, and they were right on the mark. Flavors were consistent from my visits to Monterrey. A generous serving size, sides of poblano rice and beans. They had a very well done pico on the side as well. They look to serve quite a different variety, and had a bar as well, with a good selection of cerverza. I would recommend it! read more

The best Mexican Food in the Midwest is in ....Random Lake? It's true! Fantastic Al Pastor. Their jalapeño crema is the perfect dip! Their fish fries are as good as any supper club, and now they've added fantastic smoked BBQ. Please support this place, since it's the only decent restaurant between Saukville and Plymouth! The Jefe and Baja burritos are fantastic, as are the street tacos, fajitas, and enchiladas. Doubt you could go wrong with anything you order here! Walked over to the restaurant for dinner from the motel next-door. A number of cars in the parking lot of the restaurant, but no clientele inside. Although the restaurant has a Mexican motif and the staff appeared to be Hispanic, there was no Mexican food on the menu. Very basic menu. I had a cheeseburger with fries. The restaurant was totally renovated about two years ago with a "Mexican" theme. That said, things were starting to look a little "tired." The seat benches in the booth we were escorted to had springs popping through and big holes in seat material. No other customers n the restaurant, but we were escorted to this particular booth. Stopped in last Wednesday around 10:30am. We weren't looking for breakfast and asked the server if we could see the lunch menu. I ordered the street tacos with pork carnitas, my wife ordered a quesadilla with chicken, both of our meals were outstanding, not to mention very generous portions for the price. Great classic diner food! Pancakes are fluffy and they make a great egg white omelet which is my favorite :) they are very nice and accommodating to your needs! If they have it they will make it. Only recommendation would be to have better coffee but it is classic diner coffee so you get what you get! read more

We were at the car dealership nearby and in need of lunch, and ended up at Midway. Mr. R and I took seats at the counter and we both ordered the open faced turkey. After a fairly standard wait time, my plate of turkey and mashed potatoes atop white bread, which didn't seem toasted, came out. It was probably 10 minutes more before Mr. R's plate of the same food came out, which was a little awkward. The turkey was thin deli slices of meat which tasted fine, but there were honestly maybe four slices of them. The rest of the meal consisted of four triangles of white bread, instant mashed potatoes which were flavorless, and brown gravy. I thought it was cool that the dinners came with a scoop of ice cream, and they had homemade pie available, which we didn't try. Prices were reasonable and the service was fine, I've just had better open faced turkey from small cafes before. read more

I stopped by in search of breakfast. I found a lovely diner with nice friendly ladies, fresh made food and a cool decor. I got two eggs and pancakes. The pancake was one giant pancake that was crispy and fluffy all in one. I may dream about my pancake tonight, it was that good. read more

As diners go, this was a good experience. I've been to much better places, but for the middle of nowhere it was good. Food was about what a sweet teenager girl would make for company. I don't mean that bad, just a correlation (American cheese triangles on top of an omelette). The waitress was very nice and the place was clean and I would stop there again. read more

Midway is located in farmland and serves essentially home-cooked meals. We have stopped over the past 26 years and enjoyed a quick meal on the way home from a weekends during the summer. Always fresh and good-tasting, excellent price and served by the most pleasant people, as if we had been invited into their home. Have never been disappointed with food or service. Reminds one of a diner (there is a counter where one can sit). We worried a couple of years that it was to be closed, but that great unique sign still hangs tough inviting travelers to come in, eat and be surprised how comfortable it is at a good price.
