Just came across this place because it seemed like a local spot with great reviews and food options and me and my friend were not disappointed. So many options to choose from but the steak and quail egg tacos were great along with the Korean tacos and peanut chicken curry dish that really were all complementary of each other. This is a discovery! I visited with my mom for an impromptu late dinner. The very friendly hostess was able to get us seated without a reservation, but I'd recommend them. There's not a lot of tables here. The decor is arty and appealing and comfortable. There's something to catch your eye everywhere. The drink list is interesting and ours were excellent. We both tried the Friday fish fry. We had a perfectly cooked walleye dinner with great Asian slaw and fries. I upgraded to the parm fries and they were terrific. The fry portion is generous. Service was friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the whole experience from the minute we entered the door. I might just have a new Sheboygan favorite. They also gave us an amuse bouche of fresh pesto and bread and the pesto was amazing. read more

We stopped in for Sunday brunch recently while in town for the weekend. Its a very interesting setup, a host stand and foyer in the middle with one dining room to the right and a smaller darker room/lounge to the left. We were ultimately seated in the darker room which was a little too dim/muted for my taste. I believe there was some staffing issues as we had to wait over 30 minutes yet there were open tables available. The long wait to be seated and the long time for us to receive our food led to me dropping my rating down a star. I enjoyed my biscuits and gravy. The additional chicken add on was very tasty. I appreciate the hand breading of the chicken as well as the housemade biscuits. A solid dish. My partner opted for the steak tacos. The tacos themselves were tasty but in desperate need of an additional tortilla to help provide more structure. With just one tortilla, it turned into a sloppy mess. Our server was pleasant but seemed rattled at the beginning (probably due to the aforementioned staffing issue). Improve on the staffing and seat us in the brighter room upstairs and I would return. read more

My family and I (five adults in all) went for a birthday dinner earlier this month. We arrived early in the evening, without a reservation. We were met by a friendly young woman who let us know there'd be a short wait. She made sure we had menus so we could look at them while we waited Once seated, the server came very quickly. We told her our plan was to order "in waves." (This is a great way to experience the range of great food here.) She was very accommodating. Our food was all very good. As often happens here, we ordered some of our favorites (crab cakes, Korean tacos, truffle fries), but we also tried some new things. All of us enjoyed our food! Afterwards, the server brought me a complimentary piece of tres leches cake for my birthday and the rest of the table ordered dessert. While the place got VERY busy as the night went on, the staff was was always helpful and accommodating, and we never felt pressured to rush. One of my family members has several food allergies, and the server went so far as to grab the whipped cream container from the kitchen so she could see whether the dessert special had carrageenan in it. Unfortunately, it did, but knowing that she was able to eat the dessert without the whipped cream. We've eaten here several times (and often go to their food truck on Monday Nights at Vollrath Park, which is in our neighborhood.) Whether we're going to them or they're coming to us, BoMallies has always been a favorite for us. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is a restaurant you'd think you would find in a big city, but thank God it's in little old Sheboygan. They have very high class, eclectic food menu. Anywhere from steak to sticky pot. I love this place orders are meant to be shared. By the time we left we were so full and didn't cost as much as it would in most big cities. I will definitely be going back here. My girlfriends and I went here last night for one of their birthdays. I've been here before and loved the food and atmosphere, however, most of them haven't. The food was great, up until one of them found TWO pieces of hairs in her dish. When it was brought up to our waitress, she took the dish, went into the kitchen, and came back out and said, "Just letting you know, there is no one in the kitchen with long, black hair!" We were dumbfounded and couldn't believe she just said that! She left and brought us a replacement dish, but by that time we were all pretty upset and refused to touch the other dish. I let her know that I thought it was very unprofessional of her to say that to us and that we felt insulted, because now is she assuming that we put our own hair in the dish?! She brushed me off and said "No, it's okay hunny, it's ok" and walked away. She was VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Please train your staff to do better! read more

We (5 people) came here last night (Saturday) with 6:30 reservations, got seated @6:45, placed our order shortly after and the food kept coming out at all different times, by 7:45 3 people @ our table still hadn't gotten their dinners, and we mentioned to several wait staff 3 times that people still hadn't gotten their dinners, while people around us that ordered after us were getting all their food, by 8:30pm 1 person still hadn't gotten his dinner, so he just had them box it, he never got to eat! Very little caring from the staff, they didn't apologize, it was pathetic! And the curry was very disappointing!! Overall the whole experience was very disappointing!! read more

I wish I could give BoMallies a 3.5 star review. It was so nice to finally try the place, and I honestly enjoyed it. The korean tacos came out first, and the flavor was interesting and enjoyable, though the tortillas seemed like perhaps they'd been left out to get dry for a bit. The crab cakes came next and were good. Not the best quality I've ever had, but they reminded me of the salmon paddies my mom used to make, and they were also very filling. I would probably order both these things again. I didn't like the pot stickers - the texture was strange and the filling was unexciting. Finally, the shishito peppers came out last, which really - would have been nice if they'd been first, all things considered. The red blend was very good, but the service, overall, was just a bit strange. The waitress seemed like she didn't enjoy being there. I know 3 stars seems ungenerous, but I think "A-OK" is just the truth sometimes. Decent quality, cute place. I suggest giving it a try. read more

BoMallies is without doubt a hidden gem in Sheboygan. I must have passed its location a dozen times without realizing it was there. But having finally eaten there, it's definitely on my radar now. I have eaten at BoMallies food truck at Vollrath Park often, and its top notch food there is always my first stop. When an old friend came for a visit, I knew that that is where we had to eat. The patio entrance to the restaurant is not visible from the road, which actually adds to its secluded charm. Even without a reservation we were seated immediately in the dining room, which is decorated in an appealingly eclectic fashion. The room also contains small bar. The drinks menu is diverse and reasonably priced. BoMallies is a small plates restaurant, with an excellent selection of shareable dishes that span variety of cuisines. A free starter of bread and pesto was brought to the table. The pesto was bright and beautiful, and the bread was fantastic. It was an auspicious beginning to a great meal. We started with the Asian salad. The apples and peanuts in it were a thoughtful addition, and added sweetness and crunch. We then tried the truffle mac & cheese, which was insanely delicious. I would go back just for that alone. Out final choice was the Bulgogi pork with pickled vegetables. The pork was tender and cooked perfectly, and the accompanying aioli was a great counterpoint. The pickled vegetables were crisp and well seasoned. While our server had told us that most people opt for two dishes per person, three were perfectly adequate for us. I wish I had been hungry enough to try the desserts, which looked intriguing. Service was terrific. There is a bit of a wait between dishes, which was fine with us. It gave us the opportunity to really enjoy each one. I also appreciated the fact that the volume level in the dining room was low, allowing us to converse easily. Had there been more people there, however, I can imagine that it could be a bit noisy. While BoMallies might lose a bit of its charm If hordes of diners descended upon it, this place deserves to be packed. I will definitely be coming back for their brunch, and I already have plans to come for dinner again with other friends and my spouse. Thanks for a great time, BoMallies! read more

We went here for date night. We usually head to Milwaukee but the limited capacity makes it impossible to get in. However after eating here this will be replacing many of our Milwaukee visits. The menu was so amazing and we ordered way too much food. The Bahn mi tacos were the best I have ever had. The dumplings were a close second and the dessert omg the dessert! Today was my Birthday so decided to try BoMollies brunch. To start Bloody Mary tasted like horseradish YUK, had to ask for more tomato juice and coffee to clear the taste. Food came missing the sides, they forget to make them. Sides came about 10 minutes after food and finally tomato juice and coffee. Meal at this point was cold and did not get cream for coffee. Once we flagged down the busboy I asked him for cream and extra sauce for crab cake benedict due to eggs being way over cooked and dry. 10 minutes later that stuff came and my partner was done eating I was just starting. Not once did anyone ask how is everything in fact to get anything I had to wave my hands. Keep in mind only one other table with guests. Once I was done eating she came and asked if I would like more coffee and I replied yes 10 minutes ago but not now, no comment she just turned and walked away. I did not say this in a rude way just stated as a fact. She did not once say sorry for all the mistakes or ask how was everything. When paying the hostess asked how was everything and I said disappointing very disappointing, she laughed WOW ! Food would have been ok if it was all on the table at the same time, but with the awful service we will never return!!! read more

I too would like to give 3 1/2 stars. The food was good. We were told it was small plates and order several courses to share. We were expecting something different than what happened. We have been to several restaurants with similar "small plates" (Pig in a Fur Coat and Graft in Madison) our waitress asked us to order 2 items, which we did. She asked if we knew what we were going to order afterwards and we told her and she said they would come out one plate at a time. WELL, about 10 minutes later we have THREE of the small plates at our table!!!! The 4th arrived about 5 minutes later:( SO much for spacing our choices! The food was good, though. It was a 90+ degree day and the AC inside was pleasant and not bone chilling cold:) With that said we were NOT given any water:( Tables around us did have water though. After I did ask I was given a SMALL glass of water and mostly ice:( We had to use our small bread type plate for all four courses. I did hear another waitress ask HER table if they needed CLEAN plates. I guess our waitress thought we were as subpar as we thought of her service with us. Really great dining experience in Sheboygan tonight! BoMalliies does "small" plates that are both flavor-packed & interesting. Highlights were short rib tortellini in rich broth, spicy shrimp and truffle fries. Beet salad, crab cakes & a fingerling potato dish with perfect fried egg and Manchego cheese were also excellent. Service from Sarah was great - with perfect amount of attentiveness. Cocktail list was inspired and drinks smartly adorned with fresh fruit striped paper straws. Setting was delightful surprise- more ski village chic than I expected, with 70's bohemian vibe reminiscent of fondue place or other low-lit sneak spot. We were thoroughly impressed with this quaint, local eatery and plan to put BoMallies in the rotation. Open for Sunday brunch and lunch most days. Closed Mondays & Tuesdays. First impressions are key for new customers... my experience was halted based on this concept. When I entered the restaurant through the outdoor walkway, the archway with plants was inviting. There were tables on each side of the patio entrance into the restaurant... many of the patrons sitting without food or drinks... and of course menus laying on the tables. This should have been my first indication to turn around. It was a Friday evening so I thought, "busy place". Once I entered the restaurant, there was a small group waiting to be seated. The hostess asked them if they had a reservation, to which they answered yes. The hostess then told them no tables were available and there were no more menus to give them. The group opted to go to the bar and get a drink to wait for their table. We moved up to the hostess, but she walked away from her podium. We waited and watched here fumble around walking back and forth talking to what seemed to be waitstaff. Another man came through the door and he was immediately acknowledged and asked how she could help him. We, on the other hand, had still not been greeted or acknowledged. This should have been my second indication to turn around and leave... but we waited. Another couple walked in and headed straight for the bar. The hostess yelled out to them in a very nasty tone, "excuse me... can I help you?" They replied with shocked looks and continued up the stairs to the area. At this point I asked the hostess if they had a table available and she said in a very annoyed tone, "yeah I was looking for one". We waited...and waited and then we left. We were never acknowledged, never greeted, never ate or drank so I can't review the food. I can tell you, first impressions are everything... and mine wouldn't bring me back unless this restaurant gets it together. Two star rating was a big stretch. read more
