Worth the stop! The food was delicious and flavorful. They have a very good lunch menu and good prices with plenty of food. The Chicken and Shrimp was fresh and hot. Really good attentive service. I ordered the enchiladas suizas and was happy I could get a different filling in each. I ordered one chicken and one beef. I was surprised that the beef filling was ground beef like you'd get in a Taco Bell taco. Not great. I did enjoy the chicken one though and the refried beans were good as well. My son got the taco kids meal which was huge for only $4!! Unfortunately, he also thought the ground beef was gross. He did like the beans too. My daughter got the kids chicken tenders meal and LOVED it. My kids are seasoned yelpers at this point so she came down to my end of the table (we were with a large group) and told me to make sure my review said these were the best fries she'd ever had and that the chicken was AWESOME! read more

A co worker told us to go here, and we stopped in for lunch. My strategy to test out a new Mexican restaurant is to order a chili relleno. Their version was pretty sad. It came very flat with more cheese than any other ingredient. Honestly I don't think they know how to make it. It was missing the fluffy outside coating you would expect. Just a flat chili with lots of cheese. The bottom of the relleno had burnt egg/cheese that was like rubber. For $11.00 it was over priced and not good. Hard to find good Mexican food in these parts. Excellent! The restaurant is in a renovated church and the religion is QUALITY! We arrived at the end of the Saturday Night State Wrestling Tournament Dinner Rush. The place was jammed with people of all ages and KIDS. Lots and lots of kids. Immediate seating and beverage orders taken. Drinks back to the table fast. WIDE range of dishes from which to select. I went with #2, taco and 2 enchiladas, rice and refrieds. PIPING HOT to the table! It's the first meal I can honestly say has arrived to me still hot and good. Hubby had shrimp something with tortillas and was stuffed in a hurry! No wonder the bowls of bean dip and picante are on the smaller side. Short and simple, you want to waste your good hard earned money than la costa is your place. Ordered carne asada plate and got over seasoned meat jerky. Rice is consistently dry and horrible, chili relleno was an eggy MESS. Red sauce they use is a tasteless mess. Casper Wy is in desperate need of a good Mexican restaurant and La costa is NOT it. While the sign says authentic, it's far from authentic. It is in the same league as Taco Bell, in fact I think they use the same chip and taco shell supplier. BLAND AND DRY is the best way to describe the food. The was the first time in my life that I went to a self declared sit down Mexican restaurant and they served tacos in pre formed hard taco shells, with American shredded cheese (like the generic version of craft) and iceberg lettuce. Definitely not great and certainly not authentic. The burrito was basically a rice filled flour tortilla with some dry meat sprinkled in covered in canned enchilada sauce and sour cream. While the plate was ridiculously hot the food wasn't and given that it took all of 5 minutes from order to table it definitely is t fresh note made to order. The ambiance; imagine a bunch of screaming kids, drunk people being an ass and two tank top and flip flop wearing country bumpkins blasting terrible music from their phone and singing like it's a karaoke. What a great find! After driving all day from Yellowstone, we were road weary and hungry. We went to another place down the street that had a 20 minute wait. We couldn't do that, so we came into this beautiful building filled with authentic Mexican art and music. The food was great! I had the Chile Colorado with tender chunks of beef, my wife had carne asada, my kids had rice and chicken, and a crispy cheese tortilla. We finished dinner with a stack of delicious sopapilllas. I don't know if I'll ever be back this way again, but if I am, I'm sure to stop here again! read more

One of the two best Mexican food places in town. Service is good most of the times unless it's slow. The decor and stone work recently updated. Most combos are excellent. They usually have a drink and meal special as well as have a beer for a buck or so on special. The cheese enchiladas and tamales are great. Dishes with shrimp and carne Asada are always good as well. Nice place; a little more to the chips-n-dip side of the Mexican genre. Very solid cooking; the beans are very tasty and in a thinner style, which I prefer. Many places, the refried beans can be used for spackle. My husband and I went here. We had heard good things about it from our friends who are our veers as are we. It was great. You got a lot of food, service was wonderful and the Margaritas were great. We would definitely be back again if we come Thru this area. The chips came with both a salsa and a bean dip which were terrific. And a lot of them. I've eaten here on several visits to Casper. Most of the menu items are dependably good, though they don't rise to the spectacular. The bartender concocts a good margarita, and the atmosphere is pleasant and quiet, with natural wood and adobe decor. La Costa has convenient free parking on the premises. On my last visit the service was mixed. The young lady who brought my food and later filled a subsequent drink order was genuinely pleasant; however the gentleman who took my order and later checked back with me was about as disengaged as one can get. I gathered that he is somehow affiliated with the management of the restaurant. He never pretended to crack a smile as he glared at me, and his repetitive reference to me as "amigo" might as well have been another word starting with "a." I'm a fan of Mexican food and La Costa is one of the best I've had in a long time. The salsa was fresh and spicy, served with a bowl of beans. My family traveled from Gillette to Casper for the day and La Costa was a nice end to our day of shopping. The waitstaff was courteous and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the Burrito Guadalajara- big portion and the steak was seasoned well. My daughter ordered a small combination with a taco and enchilada. The meat was tasty and not bland like at other restaurants. I had the Chile Verde and it was a large portion of tender pork in green chile- spicy and flavorful. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I'm sure everyone's experience is different. For me and my family, we enjoyed our meal at La Costa and we will be back. read more

One of the worst dinning experiences I've every had. They served me a margarita with what appeared to be some type of bandage in it. I had almost consumed half of it because the foreign object was at the bottom of the glass. When I found it I told the waitress who was not that concerned. She took the margarita away but then tried to still charge me for it saying "you drank most of it." I told her that had I not found a this bandage in my drink I would have finished it and of course payed for it. The food wasn't that great to begin with but this experience solidified the one star rating (I would go lower of I could). read more
