Fantastic mariscos. A wide variety on the menu, many I've haven't seen before. My favorite is huachinango frita (red snapper). A warm and inviting place with reasonable prices and great service. Recently discovered this restaurant about a month ago. I first time we went it was around 9pm for a late dinner.For their appetizers they bring chips and salsa, their signature soup and fried fish with onion. This place was introduced to me by my father who is a picky eater. He gets the tostadas which are an amazing mound of shrimp topped with avocado. The molcajete is amazing. While you wait for your food they bring you a soup and some chicharones marinated in lemon and salt. You have to come here. It's the best new spot for us when we come visit. read more

I've been coming here for years and remember it being consistantly good .After a two year hiatus (not related to the restaurant), I finally came back for lunch today. The restaurant is north of the intersection of Mt. Vernon and Mill on the left-hand side. Parking is in the back and is a bit tight during peak times but street parking is also available albeit in an iffy area Today I ordered the "Tacos Mexicanos" plate ($10.50) which is two tacos (filled with a meat of your choice), rice, beans, and a little salad and to drink a horchata. I ordered my tacos to be filled with fish. The plate also came with some guacamole and salsa. Before the food came I was given the ubiquitous chips and salsa. The salsa wasn't reminiscent of that weak Pace crap, it had a kick which I love and the chips were perfect. I then proceeded to devour my plate. I loved everything on it! The rice and beans were great and flavorful just like I remembered. The tacos were great! They were wrapped in thick homemade corn tortillas and filled with grilled fish. The only thing I didn't quite enjoy was the horchata. It definitely could've used more cinnamon and sugar. Pretty sure it was just an off batch. Also like in most Mexican restaurants, there are no free refills on aguas frescas (i.e. horchata, tamarindo, jamaica). Another negative I feel are the prices. Most plates are $10-$14. With that said the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Good authentic food just like I remember it! read more

It's a small sit down restaurant in a shabby part of town. But the food? The FOOD is what you go there for. They have the best shrimp tacos I've ever tasted. They're sauteed in butter and placed on corn tortillas with your toppings put on the side. And you must try the Birria (goat) plate. The first time I had Birria was here, and I'll never forget it. I call this place by accident and ordered two caldo de res, thinking it was my local restaurant and as soon a I drove to my local restaurant they told me I didn't order from them, so I decided to give La costa a chance, and I call them back and told them what happened but that I was on my way to pick up the caldos (20 min drive) the caldos where really expensive $15.66 the soup was salty, no flavor at all and there was barley any vegetables just carrots cut in small pieces, I'm really upset that people take advantage of this situación (pandemic) that we have to take food home without seen it first and they get away with This place is a joke I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AT ALL. Had to literally just walk out I had been waiting for someone to acknowledge us to be seated for over 10 minutes then I see the waitress sit another family down as soon as they walked in even though we had been already there another waitress finally acknowledges us and says to go and tell her no for here and she just says okay and walks off to help her tables doesn't tell me we will seat you in x amount of time or anything then I see the other waitress just helping the tables pay for their tab and then another guy and his kids walks in and he order's instead Of the waitress clearing out the table so that we can be seated she helped that customer out gets his order and he pays then another customer comes up to pay because we've been waiting for that long the customers are just leaving now at this point she has more than three tables empty and not one of them is cleaned out for us so we finally decided enough is enough we've been here for over 30 minutes and when we walked in nobody was in front of us waiting before us shouldn't have took this long to give us service now went to Mariscos Espinoza down the street and I am already seated with menus on the table. Tip to the owners: service is important you have to acknowledge your customers and let them know they will be helped shortly everyone knows it can take some time to get seated but don't just ignore your guests until they have to speak up and say hi we have been waiting. read more

We've been coming here for over 14 years and it's in a bit of a worn neighborhood - but it's very good, especially the seafood. The fish tacos are the best, handmade tortillas full of grilled fish with a nice side salad and chopped salsa. Make sure you get the charro beans which are whole beans in a sauce that is addictive.
