Dont mind paying $32 for 2 XL Chile rellenos burritos but give me what I paid for. You cant get the order wrong when im the only one there with a receipt #. Salsa was expired. In January I posted a review giving them 2 and suggesting that maybe they needed a new manager. I don't know if that review had any effect, but yesterday I was there again. It had totally changed. The young man who took my order was very accommodating and friendly. The young lady who brought my meal asked if there was anything else I needed. All the workers I saw seemed to care about customer service. I'll definitely go back. The food even tasted better than it did in January. An institution - Rosa Maria's has been here since forever - I visited this location with classmates in the 90s, heading to Rosa Maria's to celebrate the end of finals at Cal State by getting a Garbage Burrito and large soda - seriously some of my most treasured memories. Love going here in San Bernardino since I'm local but there's another one in Highland. Can't beat the OG SB location though with the walk-up window. It's always busy so there's sometimes a wait but not too bad. There are plenty of tables and seats outside and the service is always great and friendly. Call in your order, they will give you a pickup number that you give them at the pickup window. It will save you the time of having to wait in the order line and then again the pickup line. I ordered the MRC Jr. Burrito which consisted of shredded chicken, rice, and cheese. The Jr size is perfect for me, because I can eat the whole burrito and not have any leftovers. It fills me up without feeling like I overdid it. So if you're unable to finish a regular size burrito, I suggest you try the Jr. burritos. I also got a side of their chips and green salsa which was pretty good. Since I had them add the red hot sauce into the burrito, I used the green salsa to drizzle over each bite...delicious! Rosa Maria's gets 5 stars from me just because they still use HOMEMADE flour tortillas!!! Come on now, how many places are still using homemade tortillas? Very few. Something about homemade tortillas just hits different...in a good way. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the lack of cheese in my burrito. I'm not sure if it was in there at all cuz I couldn't see nor taste any. I also dropped 1 star due to the fact that the rice was really soft and mushy and not very palatable. Other than that, the shredded chicken was really moist, not dry. If you are like me and you like to see and taste your cheese, I would advise you to order your burrito with extra cheese. The chips were okay. They were fresh tasting. They were also thick and crispy and had a very strong corn flavor, almost like Fritos. The salsa that came with it was housemade and also tasted fresh. So that was nice. After checking out Yelp I decided to grab a 2 taco combo, one beef one chicken to try both. Also ordered my wife the enchilada and taco combo. Beans and rice were good and the food was warm. The tacos had a good amount of cheese on them which is my kind of party. Some joints are excessive with cheese and some don't put enough. Another patron at the brewery in Lake Arrowhead asked me if I tried this spot on my way home to LB. I was a bit upset that I had zero idea this place even existed. Needless to say I took the recommendation and now it's an addiction I can't shake. For me the simplicity of authentic Mexican taste is what I tend to like most.
