He talked to us about the craze of getting their library cards and was surprised someone posted it on Instagram, because now they are busy. The library itself was really pretty and clean. Such a great selection of books, and I kinda wish I lived closer so I could check out books. Luckily, they offer Libby, so I am able to check out audiobooks that I have on my TBR list. If I am ever in the area, now I know where I can stop to browse different books and to just study. Great library in a great location.

The Micro Enterprise Home Kitchen Operation, or MEHKO program now allows those with the entrepreneurial bug (and what they hope is a talent) to cook food from their kitchen. In my place, all I will do (at least for now) is make stuffed Bell Peppers... a la the name, The Holy Bell Pepper! The road to being in good graces with your city runs through LA County, so why not take the free (albeit all day) course (and the actual final test) to get the paper trail going for free! About 18/20 with reservations showed up for the class, with the final test consisting of 90 questions with you being allowed to miss as many as 30 to get the ServSafe Manager certification. And guess what? I may have missed 29, but I know I did not miss 30! After some serious memorization and seeing things through the lens of a safety inspector as opposed to a cook (my initial and major problem in the first round), I was able to quickly pivot. And while I won't know for sure for another week or so, I feel fairly good about passing the ServSafe Manager certification course. Wish me luck!

[This is not to be mistaken with Los Angeles (city) Public Library.] There is plenty of parking that can be accessed from Muscatel Ave. There are a lot of charging stations for electric vehicles. There is a QR code to scan to pay PowerFlex. The book drop boxes are also in the parking lot. This library is closed Sundays and Mondays. Overall the library is very clean, not cluttered. I think this is because they don't overcrowd the library with too many shelves. There are bathrooms, water fountains with a refill station, and a conference room in the lobby. Beside the kids section, there is the teen section, some computers, and tables scattered around. There is separate area called the Asian Pacific Resource Center. There are more books, prints, and audio resources.

The library counter is nearby in case you need a librarian to assist you. Free copies (maximum of 10 per day) are also available for library members. There is a small fee for each additional copy. You can also log on to a desktop for a maximum of one hour. Ask the librarian to open the bathroom for you because it's locked. Maybe that's why it's so clean! Unlike other libraries in the area, Sorensen doesn't limit your parking to 2 hours or anything like that. I don't understand how people can get work done or study with peace of mind, having to take all your things and move your car. Another reason I really enjoy Sorensen is the librarians that work there. Everyone is so pleasant and helpful. Although it's a smaller library, they do a wonderful job of keeping the place clean, quiet, and organized. Now, the reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because they have a limited selection of certain topics. It's not really their fault, but it'd be nice to have a little bit more. The last reason is because even though their WiFi is great, for some odd reason, I can't use Tik Tok on their WiFi. Other social media is fine but it's only Tik Tok.
