Nice library. Remodeled over a year ago so things are nice and new inside. Study rooms are available for public use. Just have to make a reservation. They have various kids and adult programs. Check website for schedule. Location is clean for most part and Staff is friendly. However some unhoused individuals have been known to come in to use the facilities. There is a park right in front of library as well with a small playground for when kids just need to play. The park is a good size. There is a parking lot which can fill up. However there usually is plenty of street parking if the lot is full. read more

The toys, blocks and play kitchen are no longer there, however the area feels much larger and inviting. The library offers story times and other free events for kids. The selection of books is somewhat limited, their hold system is exceptional! If a book isn't available at the branch but is part of the library network, it can be delivered to the library of your choice. Tip: use their app to place a hold! We really like this location because it has the park nearby. However, it's very small and doesn't have a large selection for the kids books. It does have a good little stubby pods and plenty of parking. However, you have to be careful because there are a lot of people who tend to take the tables quickly. read more

My favorite library! The people are so helpful and their book selection is so vast. You can also reserve various study rooms for a few hours and do your homework. The parking lot is rather tiny though so you might have to find some street parking. There are also a lot of places around the library to drop off your books. read more

OMG! You can't IMAGINE all the library offers for free! They even have a tool lending library, so if you need to pressure wash your house, just borrow the pressure washer: no charge! In the summer they have free lunch for school-age kids--first come, first served. You can borrow a mobile hotspot, a laptop computer, and free access to tons of online movies and other resources. This is one of the nicest Public Libraries in the San Gabrielle Valley. I used to come here often as well when I lived in Monrovia. Very small library, but they have lots of old books and current magazines. Even the computers and laptops are up to date. Sometimes they do book and magazine sales like many other libraries for small prices. Nice staff here, and the library has a nice safe childrens park near the Police Station. I hope they actually modernize TC library unlike the last "renovation". While that's happening, I appreciate this express pick-up. You'd have to request the book you want on the library catalog. Wait for the email to notify you that your books/materials are ready. Then you go to the new temporary address, park your car, call the number and wait for the librarian to bring your books to the cart outside, and then you pick up your books afterward. The end! There's no need to call to return your books. It's the same old drop-off system. Overall, service was quick and pretty good. There's no contact at all! read more

Use to come here as a kid and loved it, spent my summer here and loved it. Today I brought my son in because he loves books and doing fun stuff in the kid section (art) so since we recently moved in the area I thought I'd check out my old stomping ground. The older women at the counter was very rude when I asked her if they have anything for kids to color and she said "whatever's there" I went to check and there was nothing for kids to color just information in and around the city which is always nice. So I let her know there was nothing there and she put her hands up and said "well whatever's there!" She works in the library can't she just print out some stuff for kids because obviously it needs to be restocked!? It's hot outside and I'm sure kids would love some stuff to color to keep them busy. Then I ask for crayons because going to the library I'm not gonna bring my own supplies. Her response "well whatever we have" this library doesn't seem very kid friendly at all or maybe she was just stressed there were kids crying and running around but maybe if you work in the kids section at a library keep them busy with some arts and crafts and they'll be happy and maybe even quite! Don't make kids suffer because you're not happy with your job! I'll keep my distance from here and drive further to a more accommodating, kid friendly library. read more

I grew up coming to this library and I think they have a great location. It really isn't a big library and the number of books can't compare to some of the other local libraries like Arcadia, Rosemead or Crowell. When I was growing up here in TC, I used to come every week. I'd read books and magazines, watch people, or study and do my homework. The one thing I really like about this library is that it's adjacent to the city park. Soon as you walk out, you have the greenery right in front of you. I used to just walk out to take breaks. I just wish they can extend the operating hours and days. The community could definitely use this productive location a lot more if it were available to us. Upgrades would be really nice too.... I'd be willing to update my review and boost the rating. I'll be watching but I won't hold my breath! =) read more

This used to be a really quiet, empty and stuffy library. When I volunteered in high school, all they had were fans to keep the place cool. It was not an enjoyable place to be. Now they've taken away the tall shelves cluttering the front and made the place more open. It's now more welcoming, with self service checkout stations and lots of open space. The bad thing from that is that it's now more noisy, with mom's on their phones as they watch their child do homework, teens chatting loudly in the corner with their food/drinks (I thought food wasn't allowed?), and kids playing games on the computers. It's more of a food court/hang out place than a library now, unfortunately, but I like this library much more now that I did a few years ago. read more

Small town. Small library. Kid friendly. First I would like to make a note that librarians are NOT computer technicians. Years ago a fellow graduate decided she would like to become a librarian. It was at that time we learned what that entailed. Small towns might promote within allowing some folks to become a head librarian. Most libraries require a degree in library science [don't remember the actual title] to obtain the coveted position. While we looked over the degrees requirements from book acquisition and inter-library management; computer science and trouble shooting was not listed. People don't work at libraries for the pursuit of money. They work here because they love books, reading, the wonder and adventure that the written word provides. Talk to the librarian of your writing a school paper and need ideas or a direction. Having trouble finding a book on a topic your just learning about and don't know where to start, ask a librarian. This is a child friendly library that is located in a public friendly park. The children's section fills half the library. Movies, music, books on tape and computers fill another quarter. Fiction and non-fiction round out the rest. I like the computers limit what other people see from side angles. The political/history section is limited but fair (expected, few people want to understand such things when complaining is so much easier). I'll be back and may move it up to 5-stars. read more

This is not a big library. I really like the services provide in here which a lot of larger libraries do not have. This place provides free classes and tests for the public, ages from toddler to teenagers! The librarians are helpful! This year, the library has laptops for the public to check out. read more

I've been coming to this Library since I was a little boy, so I have to give it a higher rating than it actually deserves. This is a very small Library with a small selection of books. This is not a library where you can study at because of the number of loud kids screaming in there (I was one of the crazy rascals back in the day). Overall.. decent public library with a friendly enough staff. Plus they have a small park that's got a playground for kids. On a side note.. I spent countless hours at this library when I was young. My friend at the time and I would ride our bikes here and read away the summer days. And when I was older a group of us would eat at the small lunch area/playground on the side. (Carls jr and McD nearby). Tip: put books on hold and they will email you when they have it. Lapl.org! Now they have a beautiful gazebo that plays well for the picturesque small town. They have all sorts of events there like Christmas lights and parades but people forget the hard working library workers! Anyways I recently went back and just browsed. It's much more modern now and has self service which was a huge plus. No more scary librarians! But then that's kind of sad there aren't any anymore. Well I guess I am older and they're not scary just helpful. They have all the books by Orson Scott Card and you can always go online and try to put a book on hold. read more

I've been coming to this library since i was 8 years old...and from time to time, still come there when I need to use the internet on my laptop. I love that this library now has Wifi, however, it's in the section behind the librarian to the right, where the microfiche use to be (which is now gone). And it only has ONE table to use, which can be crowded, especially when school starts up again. I love the selection of books that they have there, and when I was younger, I use to annoy the checkout staff when I've checked out a dozen more books at a time, or magazines, and then come back a week later to check out more books (yes, I'm a fast reader!). Furthermore, I also love that they have asian newspapers, and so my dad always loved taking me here since it was not only free for his daughter, but also provided him something to read while I searched for books. The only thing I don't really like about this library is the one table for the internet. They need to expand that area. But other than that, this library will always have a fond memory in my heart :) read more

Ahhh... another LA county library that's close to me. This one is actually quite big with plenty of grass area on the outside so you can enjoy the outdoors and read. The inside is spacious and has a good amount of tables for reading. They are very helpful and taught me how to use the self check-out machine. As with any other county library, they can transfer books from another location to be picked up here and so it's really convenient for you to get a book that you want. However, they are closed on Mondays! There's plenty of parking on the side and behind, enter from Golden West. I think it's a lot easier to park on Golden West than behind the library in the parking lot because you don't have to walk as far to enter the library. read more

Library has friendly, good environment. Really clean library. I had overdue fees that surprised me-spoke to the staff and they removed the fees! That was so nice! Nice new desktops. 10 free printouts. Very friendly staff! They put in a new system of laptops that is really great and convenient to use! Overall terrific library! read more

Staff are not competent to handle computer problems. Last week they took about 20 minutes and still could not fix the problems. Neither IE nor Firefox could print. The lady pulled out a sheet with a couple for-staff-use-only ID and passcode and tried to test the system, which responded that those accounts expired. What a joke. On the other hand, that says a lot about the library system's IT department. read more

I recommend donating to keep this beautiful library. Gracious and determined to help, everyone here has made my experience at the library easy to go to. With technology nowadays I feel like we became out of touch from the memorable feeling of getting fresh new book and this library remains as a place of reminder for me to read more! This is a nice library but it's not as big as the ones I regularly visit in other cities.

"Make sure you return things at the desk with a librarian and verify the return on the monitor." This is the solution suggested to me today by a librarian when I reported that returns deposited in the bins sometimes either get lost or don't get scanned in as returned. So it's not the library's process that is the issue, it's we the customers having the audacity to put returns in the locked bins provided by the library that are marked "Return Books Here." This library is decent. 3.5 stars average sounds about right. It has the basics and more fully covered. It has a lot of books, periodicals and air-conditioning. As part of the County library system, you can search for and reserve a book online. If it's available in other county libraries, they will send it to this library for pickup. That really widens the selection for customers. They have laptops for rental, which is another plus. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. There is a small park right outside, so you can take a walk and take in some fresh air when you visit. The staff appear adequately responsive although they are unwilling to check out books for you personally. They will point you to use the machines. I didn't think they were so easy to use. It would be great if they could provide clearer step-by-step instructions, list potential errors and how to deal with them. I got stuck numerous times with error messages and it took a long time to check out a few books. Hopefully everyone is used to this by now. There are two large shared tables (one reserved for teens) and two single tables with power outlets. Internet speed is sometimes slow but if you are not using this for videos, it's AOK in my experience. read more

And if there's a book that's not available here, you can place a hold and they'll transfer the book to this location. I came here with my daughter to pick out some books to read for school. The selection is really bad here. There are no books in her reading level that ar at this branch. Rosemead and West Covina seem to have a lot of them, but too far for us to go. I think we will check out Arcadia Library instead.... read more

Nice, small library with about 10 desks and no outlets. Small parking lot, but suitable for the size of this place. One side of the library is entirely glass and you can look out to a little park. Has some cool A/C and fairly quiet, but expect it to get loud when the kids get out of school. Free Wi-Fi via LA County library card. read more

Some toys provided in this library and good for kids. However, I have been to so many libraries for story time, this is by far the most uncomfortable and dirty place. Parents and kids all sat on carpet or on a long folded table covered by colored plastic, which made our pants dirty. read more

This is a great library, one of the first I have actually liked. They have amazing summer reading programs for children which can help kids feel better about their reading, and get a reward for it as well! It is usually almost very quiet in there. Went to this library for the first time bc I heard they had a holiday storytime and pics with Santa. I took my 2.5 year old and infant and was blown away! There were so many families and the workers did a great job with the whole event! Great stories, super nice Santa and holiday arts/crafts! One of the librarians took pictures and we got a printed pic of my daughter with Santa for free! Loved it! Definitely going back again for other events! read more

My kids and I really enjoy spending time at this library. I love all the programs they offer like story times for children.. On Mondays I bring my kids to playtime, they really enjoy playing and I love that they have the opportunity to interact with other kids too. I love to go to the library during my lunch break to read and unwind from my job for a while. I usually go to the Arcadia one but this one is closer so I thought I try it today. I have never been in a noisier library before, kids crying, yelling, and running around. No one seem to be in control of that, not a parent nor a staff person. This has become one of our favorite libraries for the children's corner. It's a fairly big area filled with several baskets of toys and pretend kitchen. Puppets, blocks , puzzles, pretend plastic food, dolls are just a few type of toys. The toys are fairly clean. My kids loved the colorful keyboards that are in the kids area . The computers are filled with LOTS of educational games and they even have fun earphones. The book selection for the little ones is diverse and big . The staff is friendly and helpful. The only reason It's shy from 5 stars is parking. Good luck finding parking on events such as the concerts during the summer. They have laptops to rent but for on what I observed there's a couple not working properly but still something that not many libraries offer . Ohh.. definitely checkout the library events !! So many activities for the little ones , family and teens :-) definitely this is my first choice for libraries. I can even say I prefer this one than the Arcadia library off santa Anita and Duarte . read more

I have been coming here for a while,like other reviewers said the park is right next to it,so it makes it more convenient when you have a child,the story times where wonderful,the person who holds them is fabulous,very friendly and good to be around,they also lost way longer than in other libraries hat is a real plus,then after is playtime with a lot of toys,obviously somebody put some money and effort in it to be nice.All good till one day I rent out some DVDs and two f them where damages,so i wasn't able to watch them of course,I understand that kids touch them and they are dirty,but even after cleaning them it still was showing the dirty disc sign on TV so decided to let the staff know when I returned them that they are damaged and maybe they want to replace them or just remove them from the shelf since they are not usable.I returned other DVDs as well at the same time.A week later I go to a different library still LA CO public library since it is a Chane and was told that you can rent and return anywhere,which is a great plus,and my card is being blocked,I ask for help and I am being told that I owe 30 dollars that's why my card is being blocked.I am perplexed,can't explain it,so I ask for explanation.And than I am told that I owe that money because I damaged a DVD I rented out.Than I am making the connection,so because I was trying to be helpful to others who may rent out a DVD in a damaged condition,and tell them that it was damaged,they tried to get the money from me.I could not believe it.It happened that at the location where this happened I found the exact DVDs actually with the note inside that is is not working,but still being put back on the shelf,and I show the person who is helping me and it turned out that this aren't the DVDs I am being charged for,it was an other one which was just fine and I returned it at the same time.I am going to have to go back to that library,Temple City,because at this one I was told that the DVD I am being charged for is the possession of that library so I waisted 1 hour to find out this today and it is going to cost me an other trip tomorrow,for being honest.I recommend everyone to not say a world about the stage the rented items are because look what happened to me,and anyway the damaged items where back on the shelf,so I did not achieve anything but headache and it is not over yet.The worst you are the better you get,is not just a saying but it is the reality,it is just so hard to be bad,but hey,that's what they want. read more
